Ok location
Not very clean; expensive. Mold in bathroom. No soap for shower. Also charged me $60 more than booking price once I got my final statement.
3.5
The staff were friendly, breakfast was pleasing.
The bathroom had visible mold around the edges. That’s not clean and rather a turnoff.

I loved the location; the grounds and the quiet rustic feel of the hotel. The breakfast and Brunch were also good.
The position of the AC unit and the inconvenience of leaking from the unit, the facility also need an elevator for the heavy luggage. Price point was a little high.

Breakfast was the worst I have ever eatenj
Breakfast
Smelly rooms
Hair dryer did not work
Soap and shampoo were not available

Staff was very helpful. They responded promptly on my requests.

Rooms were large, very clean and well appointed. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. From Reception to Security who called our taxis, or arranged outside dining, to Krystal who called our room to ensure we did not oversleep breakfast and her supervisor who enquired after and helped my daughter when she was poorly.
Nothing that I did not like, but replenishing the bottles of water in the room on a daily basis, even if I had to pay for them, would have been a nicer touch.

Food is good.
All good

Needed some variety with local food but overall the breakfast was good.
Selection for lunch was great...

Everything went well breakfast was always a available on time
Have a more variety of guyanese breakfast

The staff were really nice, but it's only so much they could do when you're working in a building that's two hundred years old.
You shouldn't use the water for anything especially brushing your teeth. I found that out the hard way and I was sick for a few days even when I got back home .I don't blame the people that work there it's the owners of the hotel that's at fault.

Fair, nothing exceptional or bad was fair
Cleaning at the corners was not done

Location
The flies as you eat in the courtyard.. the breakfast… no variety…seems as though yesterday’s leftovers were reheated and re served, the diced fruit seemed as though it came out of a can… the trays were dirty, the teapot spout was dirty… I could go on..,,

When I arrived at the Herdmanston Lodge the room check in was a breeze. The room was clean and staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The meals I enjoyed on the property were also delicious and captured the local flavors of the area.
The only thing that caused me any concern was the need for a taxi or private driver to go almost anywhere. There was a moment where I needed some cash from the ATM and when I asked for directions they notified me that it would be best to call a taxi to drive over there instead of walking. Due to this I just ended up combing ATM stops with any existing tours and transfers I had arranged in order to save some money.
4.5
Mediocre and repetitive,
Apart from a couple of days the breakfast was the same every day and I suspect not freshly cooked
3.5
The ambience, the pleasant staff in restaurant, housekeeping
and security. The hotel is located in very pleasant surroundings.
Buffet Breakfast, more variety needed and cold on occasions. Found a member of staff disrespectful regarding a specific bill item. The bills for the hotel stay had been paid the previous evening before departing the next morning for the airport. We were then summoned to pay for a meal which we were then assured had been paid.
I expected to see a more professional attitude when interacting with a customer. It soured our experience at the hotel which until then was extremely positive. Also payment was taken from my credit card without authorisation. I felt this to be totally unacceptable for a hotel of this standing.

it wasn’t appealing.

It was clean and very secure
Maybe water pressure in shower can be a bit better

I really loved the old building with it's authentic rooms, had a chance to stay in both options and much more preferred the economy over the more modern located in the new building. Really nice staff and great location.
Older building tends to be a bit more prone to noise from the outside (barking dogs etc) so if you are a light sleeper you may prefer the more premium options in the newer one

The staff was awesome. They were very respectful and eager to help especially the supervisors, Mr Damion, Ms Odessa and Ms Susanna. The housekeepers, Ms Sharon and Ms Jewel. Also the security officers, Mr Paul, Mr Kevin and Mr Wallace. Mr Harry, the gardener and all the receptionists, Because of the appreciation you have shown to our family, we will definitely visit there again. Thank you!

It was an OK Stay, room was spacious and comfortable . friendly and helpful staff
For Three days in a row, same thing for breakfast, barking dog at night would not shut up.

The homely atmosphere
The water stopped coming twice for about a minute. When I was brushing my teeth and then in the shower

I only use breakfast once and I got a little stuff, so won't comment
I had requested an early check in to facilitate me being g ready on time for my wedding, but that did not happened. So I was 2 hours late. .
2.5
Dinner and staff help
I reserved my room early and Herdmanston asked me for a room preference. I requested a nice front room with 2 queen beds e.g Warterloo. I was given Enmore which had no counter space in the bathroom to put our bathroom stuff.
Our TV repeatedly stopped working and had to be fixed by staff.
