The food and hosts were excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Also the hotel is in a good position to visit nearby destinations. The hosts made our dog very welcome.
The car parking is on site, but very narrow, but there isn't anything the Hotel can do about this. You can park outside the hotel on the street. The room could have done with a mini fridge to keep water and milk cold in the hot summer months, and a hair dryer. The full English breakfast was delicious, but could have done with some mushrooms :)

Breakfast was good with local produce. Dinner was cooked to order with generous portions. Room was spacious and cleaned daily. The bed was comfortable.
3.8
The hotel location as close to visiting family
The bathroom was very small broken blind ,paint peeling of walls shower door broken, don't like the coffee in room or at breakfast tastes cheap and the oil they cook in not very nice
3.8
The poached eggs at breakfast were perfect
Complimentary toiletries
Hospitality tray had hot chocolate....and biscuits
The decor in public areas was very dated and tired looking....as was the carpet.
3.8
The staff were very pleasant. The cooked breakfast was great, the room was very clean and overall it was good value.
There had been a leak in the roof and the ceiling was badly water stained. The mattress could do with being replaced.

A peaceful room overlooking the church in a central location
Dated furniture and tired, but an up to date price

All good here.

Close to amenities
The ALL NIGHT hymn singing and organ music from the adjacent church.
Limited on-site parking.
3.8
friendly
it needed updating and a good clean
3.8
Pub meal room
Creaky floor. But it is 450 years old

Staff were all polite and pleasant.
Bed linen was pure cotton and very white.
Room was serviced every day.
Breakfast service was excellent.
Room 5 desperately needs lick of paint I.e. decorating.
No bottom to top of small wardrobe.
Desperately needs new bed.
Carpet is badly marked.
Ground floor still smells badly of cigarette smoke.
The advertised photos do NOT, in any way, reflect the standard of room we were given.

Breakfast was really good and staff really friendly and helpful.
3.8
The building which is historically interesting
And the location was really convenient
Initially, when I went to my room, I realised that the room has not already been cleaned so I asked them to check then they offer another cleaned room to me. The second one was cleaned and pleasant.
Additionally, the breakfast did not meet my expectation.

The location was excellent. The room was comfortable. Bar facilities were available with Sky Sports and the breakfast was perfect.
Parking was very limited but parking on the main road was fine.

Food excellent, bed super comfy, we had the four poster room, lovely and warm, character of the building, Richard is lovely, very welcoming
Bit dated, needs a lick of paint, loose toilet seat.

If you like a bit of history. To say how old this hotel and pub is, it was a lovely quaint hotel. Great location in middle of Attleborough. Nice food freshly cooked to order .breakfast was excellent. Staff very helpful.

The breakfast was outstanding the quality and quantity excellent value.

The cooked breakfast was very good indeed, thick bacon, perfect eggs, delicious bread.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The floors creaked loudly and the walls aren't soundproof

Nice location in town centre with off road parking in courtyard, very traditional old coaching inn warm welcome from staff, value for money in the area, handy for Snetterton not fancy decor but has character, I like it
Shame the restaurant is closed sunday nights but the staff have to have a night off and it's easy enough to go elsewhere as you are in the town centre

I knew before I arrived that the Griffin Hotel was very old. Delighted with the room which had a four poster bed which was very comfy. Bed linen spotlessly clean and the architecture of this very old Grade 11 listed building was interesting. Also to be overlooking and next to St Mary's Church was a bonus for me as this church is on an old Saxon site as is much of Attleborough.
Had a vegetarian evening meal which was delicious also the breakfast the next morning was nicely cooked and sustaining. Plenty of toast and nice choice of preserves.
Would it be possible to have proper hand wash in the bathroom. So much easier than fiddling with sample gels which was all that was provided.
3.8
bed and pillows v comfortable
welcome from bar server was good
decor incredibly dated
shower room was clean but shower was tiny and hardly a dribble
walls seemed thin and any movement to the side or above set the floor boards off
noone served in breakfast room for 15 minutes at booked time
password for in room broadband was illegible

The building and pub is lovely, very old and rustic with a lot of history. The staff were great and able to accommodate a last minute late checkout. The breakfast was really nice, and the stay was great value for money.
It can't be helped with the age of the property, but the floors in the corridor and room were very creaky, and walls had evidence of mould. The room was also very very dusty due to the old brickwork in the fireplace which was lovely to look at, but very crumbly.
3.8
Character friendly and relaxed atmosphere
Richard the host was very warm and welcoming
Great home cooked food could not have asked for more
Central for touring Norfolk
Only downside parking can be tight at times
Due to the character and age of the hotel it’s still has the authentic cigarette smell which could be off putting to potential customers
3.8
The only thing what was good is that the breakfast was included in the hotel price.
3.8
Good breakfast evening meal ok
No parking for larger vehicles although website says ample parking. Ended up with street parking. Shower poor flow even a big guy needed to run around to get wet. Period hotel with all the related problems un even floors ect

Beautiful old building. Room was tired but spotlessly clean and the bedding was fresh white linen. Hot water galore. Room 4 overlooking the church was lovely as we could have windows wide open all night.
Didn’t want a full meal so was grateful that they could cater for us with a toasty and a baguette. Breakfast was better than expected with delicious sausages and bacon.
The car park is tight to get into, as it’s a 16C coaching inn, so the arch was designed for horses, but we managed to manoeuvre through.
Covid has been difficult to all hospitality, so we were grateful that The Griffin has survived.
The whole building was tired, and furnishings old, BUT it turns into a big plus that the owners are lovely people, who treat you as a person, not a number, and the price was great. If it had been modernised you would be looking at a boutique hotel costing 3 times as much, so a negative turns into a plus here.

The rooms were very old, the shower didn’t work as no water pressure
The rooms were not as advertised- Booking.com should be ashamed for putting this on their website!!
