Everything is within a walking distance. The town is very cozy and calm. There are great choices for breakfast, lunch and diner. The Hotel restaurant is really good with the variety of options. And it is the only hotel with a beach of it's own and they give priority to the guests.
Even when the cruise ships arrived it was a bit fun.
The lock of my room did not work and it took 2 days to get it fixed. There were also no hand towels when we arrived and it took 1 night to get the to supply us with old ones. The room is a bit small

Location was great. The beach club and restaurant were great, however they are independent of the hotel. Free parking was nice. The room was spacious. The location was easy to find.
Management could have cared less if I was there. There was an issue where a very inexperienced cleaning person sprayed some kind of oil allow over our floor and everything in the room. They even got it on some of my clothing. I brought it to their attention. I have to vacate the room for an hour for them to clean it, they refused to even buy me a drink at the bar while I waited. They did not clean my clothing, and they could not tell me what was on them so I would know how to clean them. They told me to come talk to the manager the next day. The next day I was told the manager was not there. They called her and she said there was nothing they could do for me for my clothing with the mystery oil on them. No apology, no empathy. They just did not care or want to own that they damaged my clothing.
Also, the television in my room did not work and the safe would not lock, neither of which was that big of a deal, but the housekeeping problem and more importantly the lack of willingness of management to resolve it was a problem.

Great location on the main street and a short walking distance of beaches, bars, restaurants. Rooms very comfy and bigger then we expected. Staff was helpful and made us feel welcome.
Our room was on the street level and almost every morning between 6-7am the local workers started shouting and singing on the street corner which made sleeping longer impossible. This of course was not the hotels fault but it did make our stay some what less pleasant then it would have otherwise.

The hotel is right on the beach and it has a really nice restaurant. The rooms and the common areas are really beautiful and nicely decorated.
The only thing I could complain about is the staff: there were several occasions when we didn't feel like they were doing their best to help.
For instance the power went out in the entire town after a thunderstorm: this is of course not the hotel's fault. But the water was pumped by an electrical pump and they only thought to bring a generator at the end of the day (power had went out the night before). This meant that we had to go 12 hours without electricity _and_ without water.
Another example: when we checked in the lock on our door was broken and the door wouldn't close. They needed almost an hour to change our room.

The beach club is nice and also the staff is really friendly and helpful.
However the towels you will get for the beach smell pretty bad. Also we were not very happy with the hotel itself for this price. Although the room was cleaned daily the bathroom smelled really bad and there was actually no hot water. The furniture is not new and the sheets had some stains. It’s definitely not the standard you would expect for a four star hotel. So we would not recommend staying there.

The room was very cosy, had comfortable beds and the hotel is well designed and located directly at the beach. Also the stuff was very friendly. I would definitely stay there again.

Close to restaurants and shops
Keep in mind it's not that quiet as it seems on the pictures, definitely when there are cruise ships arriving

The girls in the front desk wont help at all, the bed very uncomfortable, bathroom stinks specially at night, when you try to complain they wont let you talk to the manager! Very bad experience! I do not recommend this hotel at all!

The property is beautiful, clean, with a beach front. Rooms are comfortable, albeit a bit smaller, but the bed half hanging on the ropes is very cute and unusual. Receptionist lady was friendly and helpful. Cant complain and would visit the same place again :)
Rooms slightly on the smaller side, or maybe just ours was, however if you dont travel with a lot of luggage it should be fine.

The restaurant of the hotel is very expensive and it does not offer a breakfast combo.

The location is great. The hotel is really nicely decorated with great atmosphere. I really liked the style and the indoor/outdoor feel but on stormy days the open-air area of the hotel that you use to get to the restaurant isn't as convenient.
The cushions on the beach chairs hadn't been brought in during the storm so they stayed wet most of the next day which is the only sunny day we had there. We had an ocean-facing room with a balcony but there weren't chairs on the balcony. There were 2 chairs in the room that we moved out there. The smart tv and internet didn't work. I even had 2 tech-savvy young adults with me and we couldn't ever get any options on the tv which was a bummer since it stormed the first day and evening we were there. I thought it may have been the storm but even after the weather cleared up neither worked. It was probably because so many guests were trying to use it. I also wish the beach club area was open later than 6pm. Overall this was still a really good place to stay. Our room was pretty pricey but you have to pay more to get perfection on the beach.

This place is perfectly located in front of the beach, the bed was so comfortable and it was so easy to relax. The place was a bit expensive for the days I was there but it was worth not having to pay for the "beach club" and to be in front of an area with little sargasso. Beautiful view!
The floor room was a bit dirty when I arrived, I could feel the sand on my feet but the next days it was well cleaned

Nice hotel, super close to the beach and has a private beach club that is free of charge for the hotel guests. The room was spacious and nice. The hotel is nicely decorated. Staff was friendly, but I had the feeling they weren't super well trained about excursion possibilities.

At the beach, a cute boutique hotel with lots of charming details
Englisch is not a common language here, menues are in spanish and the waiter do only speak spanish

Lovely location, towards the quieter corner of Mahahual, away from where the cruise ships come in.
Lovely food, friendly and accommodating staff, the little beach was great with small coral 🪸 reefs just outside, take a snorkel and venture out!

I LOVED this hotel. It’s beautiful, a perfect location, the rooms & amenities are done so nicely. The beach club was absolutely perfect.
