Peter was a great host very attentive. Food excellent
Nothing I can think of

The location is superb with stunning views and easy access to Lynton. Service and food were excellent. The residents lounge and dining room were beautifully furnished- like stepping back into a genteel Victorian era. The Countisbury room was excellent.
Nothing really. Not cheap but you get what you paid for

The location and the building
it’s more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel.
4.6
The Seawood is well positioned within walking distance of Lynton and Lynmouth and has excellent parking. Peter is an excellent host and is always on hand to help or advise. The hotel offers many advantages for dog owners. The rooms are large and there is ample external area for dogs to exercise. Towels are provided in reception to dry off and clean the dogs on entry. Dinner was excellent. Breakfast superb. Would book again in a heartbeat!
Everything was great.

Breakfast was really nice and was plenty of options to choose from. Amazing views of the sea and surrounding areas.
To be perfectly honest there isn’t anything I didn’t like.

Absolutely stunning views. Lovely to be able to eat outside on the terrace
Be prepared to drive on some very narrow hilly roads to the location

The whole stay was perfect. The staff wonderful the food excellent. The hotel was spotless and very comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms had that feeling of a restful era coated in politeness care and a wish for everyone’s comfort. The views from the room was beautiful too.
Nothing could have been better. There was even an honesty bar which says much about the management and their attitude towards the guests.

The staff where extremely Accommodating and friendly. The choice of and quality of the breakfast and evening meal were excellent and location was brilliant.
Parking was very challenging with vary little room to enable easy reversing causing some scraping to vehicles from end. We arrived Sunday and there was no evening meal available and we found it difficult to find an alternative venue.

Stunning views, peaceful, Good breakfast. lovely location. Staff were lovely and very helpful although very busy.
Service seemed rushed. could do with a little more management - with things like having tables pre set also guests reserving tables having a set time so other guests could use it beforehand, ie when it’s sunny most people want to eat outside with limited seating so table booking should be set to times or just first come first served. Other observations would be to have a set tray available which has all the condiments knives forks butter jams etc that could be pre prepared so saving a lot of the rushing around from staff etc. my opinion is just a little refinement in these things would make things so much better for the staff and guests alike.

The views from the property are wonderful. The furnishings are outstanding. I loved the table settings and cups in our room as they were beautiful bone china and different every day. Breakfast was great. The staff were lovely. I loved the idea of the honesty bar.
Access down narrow roads and parking were challenging but the owners cannot do anything about that and the view when you get there is worth it.

Firstly Seawood is a beautiful building with some lovely period features. Our room The Ragged Jack was delightful, spacious, well appointed with comfy bed and stunning sea view. It was lovely to have the curtains drawn back and window open with the sound of the sea as our nighttime soundscape.
Mariella gave a a warm and friendly welcome and she and her team took great care of us during our stay. A small thing - but it was such a treat to come back to the room at the end of the day to find the bed made and everything tidy - thank you😊
The road to get to Seawood is very narrow and parking has to be done with courtesy to others in order for all cars to fit.
But this was a small price to pay for the peaceful location and stunning views.

very clean and very friendly staff. Mariana and Petre were very friendly and courteous.
the front door handle didn’t work and the shower was leaking when water was turned on.

Breakfast was nice, no hash brown's were part of the cooked breakfast though which would have been nice.
Heating was broken in the room which was rectified and some of the glasses in the bar were dirty but apart from that, it was a nice stay.

Where the hotel is situated is charming. Breakfast was good. The young lady who served us at breakfast and who also dealt with our checking out provided good service, She was courteous, sympathetic and genuinely apologetic for the problems with our room.
Heating not working when we arrived (not recognised by us but clearly known to staff). Interrupted by 2 staff members trying to fix the problem when we were trying to shower. change clothes & get ready to go out for dinner. Very cold in the night (duvet provided was lightweight summer type). Heating again not working next morning. Reported this - told it would be fixed. Arrived back at hotel early evening - heating still not working. Again interrupted while trying to get ready to go out for dinner by same two men wanting to access room. I refused them access then as we needed to get ready. One of them was angry and impolite in response. (Thankfully the heating had been fixed by the time we returned to the hotel at about 9:00 pm. ) Despite the faulty facilities and poor service the bill presented on check out was for the full price. Only when I objected was the sum reduced.
Further criticism: the room description was "Standard King" - adequate description of the bed but not of the room which, given the size of the bed, lacked space. Also Ill-fitting old window made for cold draught exacerbating lack of heating,
