My family and I had a wonderful time here. The house is very well maintained and very comfortable!Great swimming and fishing. There's a lot to do in town!

Beautiful cottage, great amenities, very clean. Stairs to cottage were difficult, spiral staircase was difficult, lack of beach access was an issue for the children. We loved our stay and the weather was perfect, but It was very difficult getting our suitcases and supplies up and down the stairs. We took the children to Champlain beach to swim.

Looking for an easy vacation in the most beautiful location? SunRae Hideaway is it! The host was always on and very helpful. The home had everything we needed and very comfy beds. The large waterfront dock was well equipped with wonderful seating, tables for eating, grill, gas fire for gathering after dusk. It was the perfect place to relax with family. Highly recommend!!!

Such peace. Grateful for this beautiful place to visit. BethRae is meticulous. Always great communication. Stayed two weeks!

We had a great time at the lake! We had my sister's bachelorette party at the house and we all had a great time! The views from the dock are beautiful and we had a great time with the kayaks on the lake. The one thing I will mention is that the stairs down to the property and the spiral staircase are a bit steep, so be cautious if your group has people with limited mobility. Otherwise, we had a fantastic time and found that the house was stocked with everything we needed (except for towels)!

My family and I booked this property to celebrate my dad’s 60th birthday. The space was perfect for relaxing and catching up with family we don’t get to see so often. The hosts were very welcoming and even left a bottle of local wine with a birthday wish! Communication was a breeze and the house was clean and well organized. Would definitely recommend.

We came to stay at SunRae in October for Canadian Thanksgiving. We absolutely loved the outdoor set-up and even though it was chilly and rainy, we still jumped in the lake and went kayaking. The inside is very cozy, clean and up to date.
Kitchen was well stocked (one of the best we have stayed in) and we actually overpacked in this area, because they had it all!!
They provide lots of information after you book and they include a packing list which was pretty awesome!
The owners are FABULOUS. They make it easy, are incredibly kind and want you to have a good time!
I gave the entire experience 5-stars, but there is one area that is not addressed enough in the listing. The stairs to get to the cottage are very steep. There is a railing for most of them, but in rainy weather and with wet leaves on the stairs it was a little worrisome for my aging parents. There is also a winding staircase in the cottage that I read about in the comments, but do not recall it being in the description and no picture. My parents were not able to use the staircase because it is quite narrow with shallow steps. They stayed in the one bedroom on the first floor, so there was no reason for them to go up to the second floor. It should be noted - the only indoor shower is on the second floor. You can use the steps on the side of the house, but in inclement weather, it is not ideal. Overall, it did not affect our stay as we were prepared for both with reading other comments.
Loved our stay at SunRae

The house, location, supplies, and direct water access… 10/10. The house is a great place for sure! The stairs from the road to the property and the narrow spiral staircase in the house, are definitely something to take into account, for anyone renting this house. It all was mentioned in the listing. Worse though! This house was great, regardless of the crazy stairs, and would rent again! We loved the prime location, the amazing lake access with dock, and the homey feeling! Highly recommend!

Really well appointed home, on the lake. The house is nice and clean with lots of room for family. Good communication as well. Also great location - easy to get to Hammondsport for food or a visit. Overall a great property.

10 women came for my sister’s bachelorette party. This home exceeded our expectations, we loved it so much! Will definitely be back for future vacations with family members. So close to Switzerland Inn, Dunkin Donuts, Crooked Lake Creamery (our fav!), Ravine’s winery, etc. We could’ve enjoyed our stay without leaving the home. The hosts provide so much for leisure activities including kayaks and you can jump in or use the ladder right off the dock. The home was spotless and the beds were comfortable. We are so sad our stay is over!

We’ve done 10 years of trips to the lake, and every year a new house… not anymore. Found one we will rent again and again. House is in a great spot, plenty of parking, and newly updated. Host was very communicative, and provided anything we needed. 10 out of 10.

The house is conveniently located and extremely clean. The owner was very responsive and easy to work with. The outside stairs are steep and somewhat cumbersome bringing luggage down. Inside the house the only way to access the 2nd floor bedrooms is by using a narrow spiral staircase in the corner of the family room. It was difficult for a couple people in our group so they used the outside staircase to go up a level since the shower is in the upstairs bathroom. It would be helpful to update the pictures to include the staircase as that was a surprise. We didn't use the kitchen much but it appeared to have everything you'd need and plenty of wine glasses!
Overall the location was perfect for our fall weekend visiting the local wineries and state parks. The deck is fabulous and we were surrounded by beautiful fall foliage. I would definitely go back!

Our group of 5 adults loved this home. Exactly like the photos. There are steep steps from the road to the house and a spiral staircase inside. You do need stamina for the exterior steps but worth it for this great home and stunning views. One of us has mobility challenges but was able to manage the climb. We came to the area for a relaxing retreat with friends- visited the town of Hammondsport, a winery, and some kayaking. We didn’t want to leave. The owners were great about communicating prior and upon check in. We would stay here again and again.

It's a nicely kept property with all the amenities of home and then some. The best part is being on the water and the ability to use the water equipment such as the kayaks. It's also very close to town.
The only minor draw back are the stairs.
We have rented here for 2 years and may be back for a 3rd. Until then thank you Sunrae for a lovely stay.

Our family group of 7 loved the Hideaway! The location on the water can't be beat and we rated the dock the best in the neighborhood after our walk. The house is cute and welcoming with plenty of gathering space.

We had an amazing week here. The property was clean, well equipped, great beds and we were able to bring our boat and dock it out front. The outdoor area was as comfortable as the inside and we enjoyed the moon and stars from the upper deck each night. We highly recommend this property!

We typically stay in a B&B in Hammondsport each year, but decided we wanted to bring our son along and spend a week - and SunRae Hideaway was the right place for us.
We were so pleased with every aspect of staying at the SunRae Hideaway - our hosts gave FAQs and tips prior to our stay and were easy to reach with extra questions.
The property was perfect for us - we were so impressed with how clean everything in the house was, everything worked :) and the house was fully stocked with everything you'd need to enjoy a week on the lake - life jackets, noodles, floats, and fishing rods.
The location is great - it's just far enough outside of Hammondsport that you feel like you've escaped the world, but close enough that you can pop into town for dinner or make a day trip over to another lake.
We had such a great stay we returning again next year!

We had a great visit at SunRae Hideaway. The house was very clean. It had many little touches that make for a great experience including a first aid kit, a “just in case you forgot” basket of soap and toothbrushes and a cabinet full of games and books.
The outside living is really wonderful. The deck was spacious with a few different areas to sit and and relax. In addition to the kayaks the shed had fishing rods and some toys for the water that were in good condition.
The inside of the house is cozy. It had a well stocked kitchen. The bedrooms are small but very comfortable. The inside steps are spiral so may be hard to navigate but there is an exterior set of steps that were easy to use to access the upstairs.
The house was also close to restaurants, vineyards, boat rentals and a short drive to Seneca lake and Watkins Glen. We had a great trip!! Thank you!!

Great house, great location! We have stayed at other places but this house makes the Rent Again list! We loved the kayaks, fishing equipment and everything this owner graciously included for our use. Wonderful family time! Thanks again for everything.

Perfection
We stay on Keuka every summer, and this has been our favorite so far! We are a/c people when indoors so that was a huge treat. The hosts are wonderful to deal with and the property is as pictured and is a dream. Super-comfortable beds. Hope to book again!

Summer Vacation
This cottage is our favorite. Stayed twice so far. Clean, spacious, and right on the water. Best view, easy to swim, and a good time had by all. The owners are great to work with. I certainly recommend!!! 🙂

Our Favorite Keuka Lake rental to date!!!
I can’t say enough great things about this home, property, and its owners. It’s everything it says in the description and more. We had an absolutely perfect family vacation and lucked out on the weather. We enjoyed swimming and diving off the dock, we couldn’t believe how clear the water is in this spot. We rented a pontoon boat and we’re able to keep it docked right at the home in one of their boat slips. The air conditioning units were powerful so no complaints when we needed to escape a 90 degree day. The neighbors were friendly. The parking was abundant. They made everything easy to understand and even when I messed up the Wi-Fi password the owner BethRae was kind and patient with me. She was responsive to every request we made and let us check out a hour later with no problems. I hope we can come back to this property for years to come.

wonderful relaxing vacation!
The house was wonderful, we were outside most of the time enjoying the docks and seating. The stairs down are a bit steep, but once down, you won't want to leave anyways. Restaurants and wineries near by, beautiful view of the lake. We enjoyed the kayaks in the evenings too. Beds were really comfortable!

Nice home, linens/towels additional fees
We rented the property for a family vacation. We had 7 adults and the house felt like a good size. There was some difficulty with the spiral staircase being to narrow and could be difficult for tall, larger or elderly renters. We used the outdoor stairs instead. The house was clean and kitchen was fully stocked with all the necessary kitchen tools. The outdoor space was large and accommodating. We used the gas fire pit every night. The lake front property was beautiful and having the kayaks available was fun. There was a wide assortment of board games or movie options. Large parking lot for multiple cars was nice.
Some things to know before renting-bed linens ($100) and towels ($150) are at an additional cost, we had no choice but to pay for linens since we flew in from CA and AZ. We brought our own towels to save paying additional fees. Renters are only allowed to wash 1 load of laundry per day. This made it difficult with 7 people wanting to wash. Prior to check out there was a list of things expected to clean before leaving the property regardless of paying the cleaning fees that are added when renting from site. It was expected that the shower, toilets, refrigerator, floors are wiped down, washed and cleaned, all trash taken to outside containers.

Beautiful!
We loved staying in this home. The property is beautifully maintained and decorated. The owners really have tried to think of everything you may require and as such it is so well appointed. BethRae is great and will answer all your questions! We enjoyed cooking and spending time on the deck watching the sunsets. It's an easy drive to the nearest town and there are many lovely wineries nearby. We love going for walks and there are many options in the state parks in the Finger Lakes area. Absolutely wonderful and we would love to come back!
