Incredible place to stay and incredible host. Alexander Mansion is an experience in itself. We arrived very late but Richard was incredibly accommodating and welcoming. The hallway entrance was breathtakingly beautiful. We were offered a choice of wines in the parlour and we unwound there before heading to bed. In the morning we were served the most amazing four course breakfast. All lovingly homemade. We sat at a big dining table and had wonderful chats with Richard and our fellow guests. An experience to remember.

Beautiful property, exquisitely decorated. Quiet and comfortable room. So many personal touches and thoughtfulness by the owners. Breakfast was amazing. The best BNB we ever stayed in.

Historical building, well appointed, host who brought guests together, and made the overnight stop a memorable adventure.

Richard is possibly one of the kindest people I have ever met. When we called to confirm our check-in time, he was so friendly, it made us even more excited. The space itself is so iconic, and you can see the attention to detail in every aspect. The breakfast was phenomenal, and it was so fun to talk to and interact with the other guests before we left.
We didn't book an extra night! If we had had the time, we would have stayed a week!

Richard was a gem!
This isn't the kind of place you rush through. Plan to spend some time at breakfast and get togethers during your visit.

Richard, a most gracious host, welcomed us with warm hospitality even though we had to check in late. He told a bit of the history, gave a brief tour, informed us about the schedule and facilities. The breakfasts (2 nights) were from another era! From the opening parfait, to the closing breakfast sundae, the food, company and ambiance were first class.
I wish we could have stayed longer. Otherwise, there were no negatives.

We loved our stay at the Alexander Mansion Bed & Breakfast! The rooms were beautifully decorated and we had a private bath. Richard went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. He provided many extras, including a night cap and turn down service. He knew a great deal about the history of the house and had great recommendations for the area. The breakfast was amazing! We will be back to stay again! I cannot recommend this place more.

Richard is an amazing host. This was our 2nd visit. The breakfasts were amazing. The bed in the king room with the garden view was very comfortable. We were there for our 45th anniversary.
Water pressure in bath was a little bit weak. That was very minor as everything else was extremely satisfying.

The property was gorgeous and the host exceptional. He made us feel at home and we’ll cared for throughout our stay. The elaborate 5 course breakfast by candlelight was incredible!
The pillows could be upgraded as well as the fouton in the downstairs apartment which wasn’t really comfortable enough to sleep on.

We loved the hospitality Richard showed us and all of the guests. He had great suggestions about where to go and what to do. He was a fountain of knowledge and just a wonderful host.
There wasn't anything we didn't like.

This is the most historic house in Winona owned by a man who treasures history. Do the math! Also, he is a gourmet cook with exquisite taste.
My only suggestion is to have coffee available earlier in the mornong

This was probably the high point of our trip. I'd never stayed in a B&B in the US and didn't really know what to expect. We also didn't know if the excellent reviews meant the place was right for us or not. It was absolutely superb and we already know that we have to go back. Not just the friendliness of the owners or the breakfast (the best I've had anywhere and not rushed at all) or the room and the history of the house but just the 'feel' and the efforts the hosts made to make you feel on holiday. That so many people are repeat visitors tell you everything you need to know. Everything - down to the towels and the soap - was of exceptional quality. The night time Baileys and chocolate was such luxury. I so wish we could have stayed longer.
There was absolutely nothing that I didn't like. Except we could only stay one night because of our schedule. To really relax and get into the swing of it, we really needed more than one (but don't let that stop you staying only one night - it's fabulous)
