We loved that there were restaurants within walking distance and to downtown.

The Historic Kings James Building was perfect for our stay, wife, myself, our good friend, 2 bedrms/2 baths, lovely living room and bar. Just what we needed for a short visit to Asheville! Parking lot and access was easy, perfect. Extra benefit of the City Bakery & Bone & Broth restaurant downstairs, good food, treats, coffee in morning. Fabulous Owl bakery just north of property. We are walkers, so walked downtown to City Center breweries & restaurants, felt safe, no issues. Brandon was easy to communicate with & clear directions.Looking forward to staying here again, when we have more time in Asheville, with vibrant areas, lots to do, cool, welcoming breweries and folks!

Loved this cheery apartment. Stayed for several nights. Check in was easy. About a 10 minutes walk to downtown.

Condo was very quiet, clean, and parking was no problem. Three adults. Located in wonderful neighborhood with easy access to downtown as well as neighborhood shopping and a marvelous neighborhood restaurant, TALL JOHN'S.

Cute apartment with two comfortable king-sized beds and two full bathrooms. Tastefully decorated with nice artwork.

we loved the vibe of living above a coffee house. always a space to park. modern kitchen and living room. bedrooms were good. due to space bathrooms didn't have vanities with countertop. i found myself wanting to get ready in the bedroom instead but there wasn't a mirror. so maybe adding a mirror in the bedroom decor somehow would be an improvement i'd recommend. otherwise the place was great!

With the bakery and restaurant below helped make our stay even more enjoyable. Clean and the Beds were very comfortable and area was quiet.

Loved this gem! Beds were comfy. Nice TV in both bedrooms and living area. The downstairs bakery and block away from Starbucks was amazing. Could be to the grocery store and downtown in less than a 5 minute drive. Biltmore was not far. Very much recommend.

Had a great stay at the condo. We were in town for a conference and it was a nice base. The restaurant and bakery downstairs was convenient, and the walk downtown was very pleasant and only about 10-12 minutes. Beds were comfortable, wifi was fast. Bathrooms were small, but nice to have two of them and king size beds in each room. Trader Joes/Harris Teeter is a 5-minute walk away so that works well. Everything is very walkable - I parked my car when I arrived and didn't drive it again until I left.

As 75+ year old travelers, grab bars in shower are always appreciated, especially in stepover tubs. there were none. Only complaint we had in this wonderful property.

We walked a lot. We give it a solid A.

We pretty much walked to most of our destinations. Driving was minutes from most things. Bed was very comfortable as well. We all enjoyed our stay here.

We really enjoyed our stay in Asheville. Great location. Good bakery and restaurant just below condo. Could use a luggage rack for both rooms, at least 1 full length mirror and some hangers in the closets. Condo was clean other than the ceiling fans need dusting. Would recommend and would stay here again!

Reviewer Comments:
It was a nice apartment. Rooms were good bathrooms a little small with a nice living room and kitchen area. Walls were a little thin. Walking distance to downtown and a Coffee shop/bakery in the building.

This property is within walking distance of some nice restaurants. The access was easy and it was very clean. A bit noisy being right on a busy road.

Really enjoyed our stay at the property- good size for our family. Excellent service and very quick to respond to questions. Had an issue with the pullout couch as we couldn’t put it back to couch format. They responded instantly and replaced the couch completely! “Loved the location - good walking distance to downtown, but did find it was quite loud with the traffic noise from the busy roads nearby (had earplugs so no big issue). Loved the bakery for morning coffee and goodies. Very close to supermarket also! A fantastic stay in Asheville 😀

We very much enjoyed the condo! Great location close to everything and the restaurant downstairs was delicious. Perfect spot for a girls weekend getaway.

This trip was to celebrate 2 birthdays. The property was as expected. And we enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed staying at this condo over Thanksgiving 2022. Plenty of towels and pillows/blankets, which was so nice. It's a historic building but this condo and decor felt nicely updated. Management was very responsive. The condo sits above a pastry/coffee shop and a dinner restaurant both of which we enjoyed during our stay. You can't beat walking downstairs for a nice coffee and a baked good or having a lovely dinner at a top-rated restaurant and heading right upstairs afterwards. We never had trouble finding a parking spot for our 2 cars in the shared parking lot, even on a holiday weekend with both businesses booming.
Plenty of paper products were available. We brought our own toiletries so didn't use the provided hotel-type sample ones. The trash service was a nice feature, too. You just put your trash out in the hallway in the morning to be whisked away. This condo is right by the stairwell yet we rarely heard other guests coming and going. It still felt very private.
The 2 full bathrooms (1 en suite, the other in the hallway) are kinda tight (pocket or barn door would be helpful) and the counter around the sink too small to hold much. The bedrooms don't get much natural light since the windows face an adjacent bldg, but the street-front living room felt very bright and open. Overall, it was a great stay and we would happily stay here again, unless we decided to be even closer to the downtown area.

Very clean…nice location…great bakery in same building…only recommendation would be maybe some shelves in bathroom, no place to keep personal items….and shelves in closet to put clothing, had to live out of suitcase …but would recommend to my friends

Very clean, perfect location

The location is excellent as there is a coffee shop downstairs and the downtown area is only about a 3/4 mile walk. Also a Trader Joes a short distance away. Do know that it is a small apartment with no dining table and only 3 bar stools. Also it does face the street so there is a bit of noise.

Close to everything and right above a great restaurant.

Loved Our Stay
We loved this unit, it was perfect for our weekend couples trip. The location was great. We will definitely stay here again!

Average
The unit was average. We were excited for this stay and while it wasn’t terrible, there were several things that could have been better. There is zero counter space in the bathrooms (this was frustrating for my wife and daughter who were applying make-up and prepping hair). There were minimal dresser storage for unpacking of clothes (we just lived out of suitcases for five days). Each bedroom had a large closet - but only about 4 hangers in each. One bedroom had no ceiling fan - not terrible but some kind of fan would have been nice. Dishwasher worked but not well. Floors were warped but were tolerable. It had great potential but could have all been better.

Mother/daughter get-away trip
Good location Clean. Kitchen very poorly stocked, expected better re description Could’ve used wash clothes kitchen towels

Great Location, very clean.
Only one slight adjustment. Since it is an older building and the floors have a bit of a slope, it would be nice to have the beds level.

Spring Break
The location is perfect…the building is adorable and well kept. My only complaint was the back bedroom with no ceiling fan was very stuffy the first night when it was 80 degrees, warmest of the week. The AC just couldn’t get down to the temp we set it at. It was only 50’s next day so temp was fine, so not sure if the AC truly needed attention or what? Either way, small issue that did not ruin any part of our time here!

Location!!❤️
The location of this property is perfect. So close to all of the local shopping, food, and activities. Very cute apartment, decorated well. Loved all of the windows and natural light in the living area.

Very well lit from both outside and inside in lighting.
Impeccably clean and well appointed decor. Kitchen had everything we needed for making meals including coffee, salt and pepper :-) Could not get the TV to Provide local channels via spectrum, even after we followed your clear instructions.

Very convenient. Walk to downtown. Needs a little refreshing, but overall great.

Not worth the money
I am not sure when this unit was “newly renovated” (or where the person was looking when they described it as having “incredible views…”). Much of the furniture is incredibly worn. When I pay that kind of money ($388/night with fees), I expect a couch that doesn’t sag to the springs, chairs that don’t have the finishes rubbed off the top and vanities that aren’t coming apart, to name a few. (I wish I could attach photos.) While the beds seemed a bit sloped and were squished into small rooms, they were comfortable, check-in was very easy, the unit was very clean and the location was good. Maybe would have given it 2.5 stars if allowed. We left it as clean as we found it and did all that was asked upon checkout. We left a day/night early. I called and emailed the property manager before I wrote this. Someone wrote back that they would forward my concerns to the right person. No response. I don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews. Just being honest - place needs upgrades, especially for that price.

Perfect for girls' weekend
From the time we pulled into the parking lot and walked into the apartment, we could not have for better. The place was spot on with the photos and description. It was perfect location to walk to the shops, restaurants downtown, and quiet. Will definitely stay here again!

Great place, but pullout couch bed frame was broken
The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything you need. Great place, but we were not able to use the pullout bed due to the frame being broken. The bakery and restaurant downstairs was great too.

Many good things, some needed improvements
Nice location, easy check in and responsive to my calls. Bakery and restaurant downstairs were best part. There is some road noise even in back bedrooms if you are a light sleeper. Cleaning crew very thorough. Internet wasn't working properly, fixed but continued to be spotty on and off. First unit had couch that cushion was ripped stuffing all coming out. Moved and stayed in a new unit. This unit had broken bedroom shade, stopped up sink in bathroom, light and one TV that didn't work, and rug that was peeling up and tripping hazard. Walls throughout had small/medium holes where hanging objects had been moved and walls never fixed. As mentioned by others, kitchen minimally stocked and would be hard to really do much cooking in unit. Little touches that are in other properties of this cost are missing. A new coat of paint and some freshening up with new rugs and furniture could go so far to move this to a stellar stay.
