Clean and modern. Good size double bed, comfortable. There are smaller rooms but our room was fine for 2 people. Bathroom very well equipped. Although in a busy area bedrooms were quiet and peaceful. Restaurant on 10th floor has great views across the city to mountains beyond. Very close to Kanayama train station with rail connection direct to Chubu airport and underground trains across Nagoya.
Breakfast was advertised as 7.00 to 9.30. To us as British people we assumed that meant you could arrive for breakfast just before 9.30 and stay and eat. However in Japan it means breakfast is cleared away and the restaurant closed at 9.30, so you do need to be there about half an hour earlier.

Close to the station. Clean rooms. Good breakfast.
I made a written complaint to the staff for their attitude towards me. Having stayed at the hotel for business on multiple occasions, they did not check my prior records. Being a Japanese citizen and speaking Japanese, they looked at me as a foreigner (as I am originally Western) and asked me for identification. This has happened on previous occasions as well. It is impolite to be asked on every occasion and it means that the hotel do not remember their customers with everyone being treated as a new customer even if they repeatedly use the facility.
I would strongly suggest that the hotel changes its policy and start to learn about their customers to give a more personalised service. I cannot guarantee that I want to stay there again in the future.

Good location, facilities and breakfast.
They have a laundry facility that washes and dries your clothes for ¥500. It’s good value. No detergent required.
The staff assumed I was on a business trip and asked for ID such as a passport and then a resident card. I am a Japanese citizen and even though I spoke to the staff in Japanese they made an assumption that because I look foreign I couldn’t possibly be a Japanese citizen. Moreover, I have stayed at the hotel many times. They appeared to have no record of my address which shows I live in Japan. This is a very unpleasant downside of many hotels in Japan including this one.
They assume a foreign looking person is not a citizen. Asking if someone is a citizen is something that should be asked first!
Their policies need to change and update to the modern era. Prejudice such as this needs to be eradicated through better education of hotel staff and better policies of the hotel group. I hope they take heed of this review.
