A hotel with massive potential, but current renovations made it less easy to properly appreciate.

The Olivers Guest House is going to be a beautiful property. The room I had was excellent. Certainly one of the most comfortable beds and pillows I have found in a hotel anywhere. It was scrupulously clean and recently decorated. There is an excellent selection of channels on the TV including Netflix and Prime. WiFi is good though a little cumbersome to connect to via phone. The hosts were very welcoming and hardworking, doing most of the redecorating themselves.

Unfortunately, my stay coincided with the beginning of renovation works by the new owners which meant the kitchen was out of use, so no breakfast. The confirmation from Booking.com did not mention this, and most of the current sites on which you can book don’t mention it either, so be aware you may have to find breakfast elsewhere. My room was on the second floor, so wouldn’t suit those with mobility problems, and the water pressure was quite low - something the owners are planning to improve, but it had a pleasant view across North Hereford. There were no chairs in my room, just a stool, and it would be improved by the addition of at least an office chair so that anyone working away could continue. I didn’t see any USB ports, but they will probably arrive during the refurbishment.

Good place to stay, and near town and my family if I want to visit again. Yes! I stay there again.

The Oliver's guesthouse, was actually being refurbished where we have breakfast. The first morning, we got £10.00 ea; because they couldn't do breakfast that day. So my son and I had breakfast in town. Cath, (the owner), said that they'll be ready by the following day. I told my son, there breakfast are top notch. I normally give Chris and Cath a big 10. But I've given them a 9. But it's still good value for money. the owners and staff, brilliant. They were ready the following day.

Fantastic thank you!

Staff very friendly! Area was great, very accommodating, and whole building was spotless! Very quiet didn't hear a single person so able to get plenty of rest! Will definitely return next year thank you!

No car park however not hotels fault at all, was easily able to park on street right outside.

Spotless, comfortable and an absolute bargain.

Immaculate rooms and facilities. Located around a 5 min walk from the town centre and even closer to a handful of local shops/pubs. This place is a true hidden gem and thoroughly deserves its high ratings. There are other establishments in the city charging double for rooms half the size. Even with a shared shower room, I didn’t hear anyone else and was able to use it at 6:30am without disturbing other guests. The hosts are friendly, welcoming and accommodating and the breakfast will set you right up for your day! This is now my go-to location whenever I stay in Hereford and I recommend you make it yours too!

There is nothing not to like about this property.

Welcoming, comfortable & deliciousness breakfast!

Rob was a great host and so friendly. Made me feel very welcome & even checking what time I was arriving. Really comfortable double bed and great room (didn't mind being at the top of the house!) Room was spotless & the en suite shower with loo. Breakfast was great with quality ingredients & fab cup if tea!

Sani loo made me jump a few times in the evening as it suddenly made a short gurgling noise but that was it!

This encapsulates all that is preferable about a well run B&B compared with an impersonal hotel.

Just about everything. Rob, our host, was everything a host should be. His family also. It brought out the best in our fellow guests. It was my wife, Heather's 70th birthday and we were in Hereford for the funeral of a remarkable and dear friend. The stay at Alexander B&B was the perfect, soothing prelude to this. This place should be a well kept secret!

Just a little thing. The water pressure in our shower was a bit low. Everything else more than makes up for this minor detail.
