Our cottage is located a few houses down from Eugenia that is beach front and has two easy boardwalk paths leading to the amazing 10 mile stretch of Kiawah beach. Our home features hardwood floors, granite counters, stainless steel appliances and recently remodeled bathrooms. Xfinitiy Wi Fi, cable T.V., complimentary use of in all bedrooms. We have a deck and grill out the back door and two garden benches out in front so you can enjoy the sounds of the ocean right from the house.
Sea Rocket Court is on non thru street making it a great location for families who want to be close to the beach and Island activities, but still have some quiet privacy. Bike rentals are easy with delivery and pick up, the island also offers kayaking, crabbing, fishing, chartered boats, kids camp, teen activities, a nature center, world class golf, and tennis in addition to 30 miles of paved paths and a 10 mile stretch of private beach that is also great for bikes, walking or a game of bocci. Sand dollars are more easily found on the beach than starfish, and are always a fun surprise to find one, a perfect sand dollar or starfish in the soft sand. Hiking trails and docks are found throughout the well managed wooded areas of the island. The Kiawah Conservatory also looks after the wildlife, host education sessions at the Night Heron Nature Center. Freshfields village is located just outside the Kiawah gate with a grocery, restaurants, shopping and summer activities on the green. Night Heron Park will have activities most nights of the week during the summer for families and late night teen events like glow paint ball. Charleston's is a 40-minute drive from Kiawah Island. It's hard to leave Kiawah but the trip to historic Charleston is worth it.

Our family uses our cottage and for that reason we continue to update and improve each year replacing or remodeling. Our kitchen was remodeled with granite counters, new cabinets and stainless steel appliances. The hardwood floors throughout the house were completed that same year. The bathrooms were updated with a glass shower, new tub, tile and sink fixtures. We added flat screen TV's in all the bedrooms with a 50 inch tv in the family room adding a oversize sectional sofa, and chair. This past year we replaced the windows, and purchased new furniture for the twin bedroom. The Master Bedroom has a king size bed, a 40 inch smart TV, ceiling fan, walk in closet and wooded views. The second bedroom has a queen bed, flat screen TV, and ceiling fan. The third bedroom has two twin beds, flat screen TV and ceiling fan.. The shared bathroom between was updated with new tile, tub, shower and vanity. We stock our kitchen with all that is needed to prepare and serve meals. The grill is propane and we do ask guests to use tin foil on the rack. We have a full size washer and dryer in the home for guest use. An enclosed sun room adds additional sq.ft. to the interior of the home. The back door leads to the deck that is shaded by large oak tree. We keep teak chairs and table out for guests year round. We love the island and our home, and are glad to share it with our guests.

This property was perfect for our family of four. The kitchen was well stocked which we needed since we cooked most of our meals. The furniture and beds were very comfortable and the beach was just a few minutes away walking. Only a couple of minutes on the bike. There weren’t a lot of people on the beach most days—off the beach access we used—14. Everything was well stocked and clean. We definitely hope to stay again!!

This house is a quick walk across the street to the beach and a five minute bike ride to Night Heron Park! Quiet without much traffic. House had some helpful extras like oil and some spices and extra paper towels…makes such a difference when cooking! Beds were comfortable and the WiFi worked well. Would stay here again.

Property was just as advertised. Not as nicely renovated as some Oceanwoods properties but comfortable and convenient. Owner was very responsive. Could use additional bath towels - only 6 were provided for 6 adults so there's no extras if you put them all in the laundry. There were not enough towel racks or hooks - in the hall bath, only 1 towel bar & 1 hook for a bathroom shared by 4 adults. Not enough toilet paper provided in the bathrooms as well. Bed linens and pillows seemed a bit mismatched, and there were no linens for extra pillow in the closet.

We really enjoyed our vacation in Kiawah last week. The accommodations were perfect for our family. It was very clean, very close to the beach access, the beds were very comfortable, and there was plenty of room for everyone, The beach is lovely and we rode our bikes everywhere. We would love to stay here again.

My family and I really enjoyed our Kiawah vacation. The house was very clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The neighborhood is quiet and lovely and the beach is a short walk away. The bicycle rentals are delivered to the house and we rode every day on the beach and the many biking trails. We look forward to visiting again!

We have been coming to Kiawah Island for several years & we love the Oceanwoods area! The location of this cottage is perfect, a very quick 5 minute walk to the beach via 2 very close boardwalks. The cottage is very spacious, and very well stocked with many extras! We would highly recommend staying at Deirdre’s cottage.

You can tell the owners family cares for the property and that they are passionate about providing a comfortable experience. My husband, 2 daughters (21&24) & I thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to Kiawah Island. We loved the amenities of our cottage. It was quiet, spacious, comfortable and nicely furnished. The location can't be beat, as it's a quick 2 min walk to beach access. We miss our daily walks along the beach and throughout the island. We will definitely return!! Our hosts communication was excellent and the booking process was seamless.

This property is in a great location. Very close to the beach. The starter supplies were a good variety and amount. The kitchen was nicely stocked with everything! Two things we had trouble with... The lighting isn't great and the house always seemed dark. Also, several outlets need replaced. They're very loose and plugs would fall out when we tried to charge phones and Kindles. Overall, it's well kept and we enjoyed our stay. It's difficult to find anything that close to the beach!

Wonderful house located 5 min walk from the beach in one of Kiawah's best neighborhoods. The house is well-equipped with comfortable beds and furniture, fully-equipped kitchen, nice showers, and a great collection of books and beach chairs. A family of 4-6 would be comfortable here. Deirdre was very helpful and communicative in keeping us informed of Hurricane Ian impact (luckily Kiawah escaped any serious damage but it was a real concern in the days leading up to our trip). Highly recommend this property. One traveler tip: bring a Fire or Roku TV stick so you can steam movies at night or on rainy days. The TV in the living room is not a smart TV but it does have easily-accessible HDMI inputs.

We had an absolutely amazing stay! The home is very clean and well furnished. The location is WONDERFUL with only a 5 minute walk to the beach. Deirdre was quick to respond to any and every question that we had and was always very courteous. The island has an amazing bike trail system as well as the ability to ride bikes on the beach. Walking the lovely, quiet beach and hunting for sand dollars and shells is a wonderful past time at low tide. The island has a wonderful group of volunteers that monitor sea turtle nests and dolphin strand feeding. They are very knowledgeable, love what they do, and are eager to share! The only drawback is the lack of restaurants on the island without paying extravagant prices. (They are located at the golf resorts and cater to that crowd.) Thankfully, Freshfields Village is a quick drive and has a good variety of restaurants as well as shops. (Deirdre's home also has a well stocked kitchen to allow meal preparation.) Kiawah Island is a tranquil, laid back island to visit and we look forward to visiting again. It is not a far drive to Charleston, but once you are on the island you really won't want to leave!

The pictures don’t do it justice - charming and has all the basics you need. A little tight without a 1/2 bath for 4 adults and one teenager, but otherwise great. Close walk to the beach, and it’s nice to be nearer the gate to exit the island for shopping and meals. Plenty of reading material too if you forgot your own. Thanks to our host - your place was a great find.
