We really enjoyed our stay here. It was in the perfect location: close to the beach, but far enough away we weren’t in the hustle and bustle of things. It also is one of the few places we’ve stayed at that was truly pet friendly; little details throughout the house such as a dog bed let us know that they would be comfortable. The property manager was extenely nice and we are looking forward to coming back!

The Pelican Cottage is located in the historic district and close to shopping and restaurants. The neighborhood was great for walking. The cottage was very pet friendly…complete with dog beds and treats! I would definitely recommend staying there!

Good house to stay in and dog friendly

Perfect cottage for my husband, me and our two English Springer Spaniels! Enough space for their crates and loved that you could close off the hallway to the bedrooms and bathroom and laundry/pantry area. Loved the Old Commons section of the historic district and the proximity to Bay Street and the waterfront area. We walked all around the historic district - no reason to move the car! Cottage had all the necessities for a comfortable stay. We will be back again!

This quaint little cottage in Beaufort offered a delightful dog-friendly getaway, just a short walk from the waterfront and town center. It was clean and included thoughtful touches like welcome snacks that made our arrival instantly warm.
However, our stay wasn't entirely without its hitches. Several burned-out light bulbs left the kitchen area feeling a bit dim, making cooking a bit of a challenge. Stepping stones through the grass (which was occasionally wet from built-in sprinklers) would be a helpful addition. And while the television provided entertainment, its sluggish response time tested our patience on occasion.
Overall, this cottage has undeniable charm and a wonderful location. With a few minor fixes, it could be truly exceptional. We'd certainly recommend it to other dog-loving adventurers who don't mind a touch of rusticity, especially considering the thoughtful welcome snacks and proximity to town.

We stayed 3 weeks at Pelican cottage. Here is what I really appreciated about our stay: a cozy place to stay, well supplied with things including in the kitchen (which is important to us). Wonderful conversations with the host, who was very insightful about the environment of Beaufort as well as very responsive. Wonderful location, walking distance from the marshland, downtown, the waterfront. Kind neighbors all around with whom one could have leisurely chats. All together a solid stay, which I would absolutely recommend!

Perfect for my family of 3. Right down the road from restaurants and cafés. Very clean with all the amenities of home. Great communication from the host. The gas fed lamps are a unique touch.

We had such a great stay at the Pelican cottage. Its location is fantastic with all sorts of Amenities around, but yet quiet and quaint.
The house was well stocked and the attention to detail was great to experience. We enjoyed the front porch and the games available.

Communication with Denise was excellent! We initially had an issue with the internet, but Denise was very responsive and had the issue resolved the next morning.

Cute cottage on a quiet street within walking distance to bustling Bay Street. Well provisioned with everything you'd need for your stay and very clean. They even had a pet bed waiting for Trixie. Strongly recommend a short drive to Dockside Restaurant on Lady's Island. A great Southern Seafood restaurant.

Can’t say enough good things about this little cottage! Very clean and well appointed. The little things like the water pressure in the shower to the numerous coffee makers really made it for us. Denise was very responsive to questions and provides a very simple check in process. We will definitely be back!

The Cottage was very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect - easy to walk down town to all of the great restaurants and unique shops. The property manager, Denise, was great to work with. Our only frustration was the TV. There are no local channels so we couldn’t get the local news. We don’t have any of the apps and the channels we could get kept stopping unexpectedly (and resuming after a minute or so). Not a big deal. Overall renting the Pelican Cottage was A plus!

The hosts have pretty much thought of everything. The cottage is well-stocked and we really appreciated the opportunity to bring our dogs. I would highly recommend this rental and have already sent the listing to three of my friends. We had a wonderful time!

Perfect Beaufort location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Beaufort and the cottage just added to it. The cottage was extremely clean and comfortable. Better than even expected. Towels and linens were of good quality and the kitchen was very well stocked. There were absolutely no issues. The location in the historic district was perfect. Easily walkable to the waterfront and main street. The manager Denise was so friendly and helpful as well. We'll hopefully be back!

Exceptional!
This was our first stay with a VRBO host; we were not really sure what to expect.
This cottage is thoughtfully appointed, having everything guests could need or want and more for a enjoyable stay. The property is very cute and was super clean when we arrived. The check-in process was was incredible easy. Everything is exactly as advertised and more.
There is a bakery/breakfast shop right around the corner; the historic and picturesque areas of Beaufort are all within easy walking distance from the cottage, including the downtown commercial and waterfront areas. We highly recommend a walking exploration of the town.
Exceptional is the only appropriate word to describe our host and experience. Our messages were responded to promptly and politely. The few of requests we had were answered in the positive and addressed well above our expectations.
Denise, Thank you so much!
Our stay ended just yesterday and we have already recommended this cottage to friends & family and are looking forward to our next visit.

Cozy Comfortable Cottage
The property is an older historic cottage with a lot of charm. The actual gas lanterns outside the door was a great touch. The cottage was spotless and it had one of the best stocked kitchens of any VBRO I've stayed at. It's within walking distance of the waterfront park and main shopping street and a short driving distance to some of the islands and beaches. If I'm in Beaufort again, I will definitely plan on staying here. If there was any complaint, it's that there really is not any private space outside. There are some chairs and a firepit, but they're pretty exposed to the street, but not a big deal

My husband and our 2 little dogs enjoyed this delightful cottage. It was easy and well equipped.
