*We use the same cleaning criteria that we employ at our Family Medical Clinic. In addition, the HVAC air filters are changed between every visiting group and we are mandating at least a 72 hour 'cooling off' period per CDC guidelines.
Come stay at our charming, spacious and fully remodeled home in an adorable neighborhood of Portland. This is a home away from home perfect for families with children and perfect for Business needs. Everything is brand new as the house was redone from the studs up.
The Metzger/Multnomah Village neighborhood is minutes from downtown Portland (off peak hours = 12 minutes), the Portland Zoo, Japanese and Rose Gardens, blocks from the largest mall in the state and one exit from Lake Oswego. Being only 6 blocks from I-5 makes it extremely convenient for any activity that brings you to Oregon without having to navigate the congested Highway 26 at the North end of the city.
This location in the Metro area is our personal favorite and we have owned several homes in the neighborhood because it is convenient to everything, quaint, quiet and well established. The home is walking distance to Fred Meyers grocery store, 5 blocks from Metzger Park, 1 mile from the Garden Home Rec Center which has summer camp for kids, classes for all ages, sports activities year round and much more and 3 miles from the quaint Multnomah Village. Portland Community College Sylvania campus is 2 miles away.
You will have the entire home to live in during your stay. The home is a large 2200 feet with 5 bedrooms (7 beds), 3 full baths on a 1/2 acre with beautiful trees and a lovely sunset deck. There are 5 bedrooms, 2 upstairs and 3 downstairs. The upstairs master has a queen bed with a private bath and large walk in closet. The 2nd upstairs bedroom has 2 twin beds and a full bath off the hall. Downstairs has 1 bedroom with a queen bed, a 2nd room with a queen bed, and a 3rd room with bunk beds. There is a spacious full bath downstairs. All 3 baths have shower and tub are stocked with soap, lotion, hair products, hair dryer. All of the linens are new and there are plenty of blankets and pillows and cozy comforters. Upstairs comfortably sleeps 4 and downstairs 6. All rooms have true mattresses; there are no futons.. This is a very family friendly home as the downstairs offers a spacious living/ rec room and there's lots of yard to play in and explore. (Please note - - - due to insurance restrictions we absolutely do not allow events! Maximum people day or night is 12. Licensing does not allow gatherings beyond the registered guests. If you choose to cook you have a fully utensiled gourmet kitchen including oil, spices, coffee pot. There is a phenomenal grocery store walking distance 4 blocks away for any food items you might need. There are lots of local pubs and eateries within a mile of the house and a guide to Portland's central restaurants is provided.
Kara and I are avid cyclists and can provide referrals to bike rental shops and great cycling destinations. We are not on site but close by if you need us. We love this house and our city and are excited to share both with you. Kara has decorated the house with treasures for all to enjoy. There are many original pieces of art, vintage touches and charming antiques but no lack of a modern feel!
Come and enjoy!

We highly recommend this place. We enjoyed our stay, the host provided what we needed for the house. Thanks for hosting us.

Our family of 9 had a great overall stay at this home! The location was close enough to the sites we visited, with everything within a 15-20 min drive. They had mostly everything we needed, such as a high chair and crib, plenty of towels, etc. Lots of food options and quick kids activities close by also, including a splash pad. There was only enough coffee for the first day, but there were tons of tea options and Wal-Mart close by for groceries. If you're going to have a larger group with multiple cars, just be advised that the driveway is only 1 lane wide, so you will have to coordinate things if you're going to be coming and going separately. We had elderly parents with us and had to plan ahead, since they were only able to use one of the rental cars we had comfortably. It just required some coordination, but not a huge deal. A couple annoyances - the Nest thermostat would go into Eco mode if you're out all day, and the main floor gets warm on a hot day, and it does not cool off quickly in the evening. The bottom floor was nice and cool though. It was hotter than usual during our visit, so this probably doesn't matter during milder months. The remote for the downstairs TV was also finicky and certain arrow buttons wouldn't work, so we had some issues putting on a movie for the kids to unwind in the evenings - would recommend replacing that for future guests!

We really enjoyed our stay . We are a family of 6 adults and 4 kids and we had everything we needed like high chair, pack n play for the toddlers. The host messaged to check if needed anything and was great with communication. Would definitely recommend staying at this property!

We loved our stay here! Beautiful, clean home with lots of room and comfortable beds. Great location with easy access to all the sights we wanted to visit. The management was very accommodating to our needs and easy to contact. James even hung a swing from the tree in the backyard for our young grandkids, which they thoroughly enjoyed. We would definitely stay here again!!

Great Home Away From Home
Central location near retail shopping and businesses. Perfect for our family--two bedrooms on main level for two couples and private daylight basement downstairs for our son and his family. Our grandsons loved the little playroom with kid-sized furniture and lots of books, puzzles and toys to keep them busy. House well-stocked with ample kitchen equipment, serving ware, name-brand paper and cleaning products, quality bath toiletries, etc. Only issues were the creaking floors upstairs and tall hedges that blocked view when driving out from driveway.. Great communications with James (owner) before, during and after our stay!

We needed a place to stay due to a home emergency. It was last minute & James made sure it would be clean & available for us. However, he ignored all of my messages, texts, & calls & the house wasn't available until hours after he said it would be. Terrible communication!!
The only pros were having a place for Christmas, it's a big house, & some beds are comfortable. Good location and it was mostly clean and very COVID-safe.
The bad is that the downstairs is MOLDY!! You couldn't see it but you could smell it. The laundry room, the bathroom, and the bedroom closest to the bathroom all absolutely reeked and gave everyone allergies.
Other cons are there is one TV, down a steep set of stairs that are hard for older people. Some beds are really uncomfortable. Many of the "clean" towels smelled like mildew. "Smart" appliances are difficult to use. Water heater cuts out and leaves you with ice cold water unexpectedly in the shower. Kitchen cabinets had broken doors that need to be fixed. There are non-stick pots covered in scratches that need to be thrown out.
We had several issues and James dealt with them horribly.
We wanted to leave a day early to avoid the snow, so he agreed to refund us our last day. He said contact VRBO to get our taxes and fees back. I found out the only way to get those back is for him to cancel the night, but he only gave us a partial refund instead, so I'm out $50 plus over $100 in taxes and fees! VRBO and I both contacted him to officially cancel and he ignored the messages.
The downstairs toilet was weird on arrival, and just one poop clogged it. We asked James to call a plumber around 10 AM Christmas Eve, but he said no one was available. He came out himself around 3PM after watching a YouTube video on how to unclog a toilet and made a huge mess and didn't fix it. I had to call Roto-rooter myself and set up an appointment!! If he would have called himself that morning it could have been done with quickly and we wouldn't have had to have a plumber coming out Christmas day!
I'm grateful we were able to safely be together for Christmas, but I would never stay here again or recommend it. For this $$$$$$ place I should not have had to waste Christmas Eve waiting around only to call a plumber myself! It also needs to have some mold remediation ASAP! A second TV in upstairs and getting some new cookware would also make it more worth it. He should also probably put in higher-flow toilets and do more regular maintenance.

We stayed at James's house for almost 3 months. His home was amazing. The house kept on giving, linens, soap, dishwasher tablets, shampoo, tons of linens and towels. Way too much to list. The kitchen was great, gas stove and everything you need to make any meal. We had a newborn and the house was very comfortable. Nest thermostat with A/C and heat. The door had a smart lock so no keys! Family and friends could just come over using pin pad. Would definitely stay here again. James was and incredible host who was always a text away. Book this place!

We had a wonderful time in this house! The kitchen was set up well and there's a grocery store an easy walk away. The beds were very comfortable and the house well-appointed. Getting in and out of the driveway was a bit of a challenge in the big Tahoe we had rented: we quickly learned to back in rather than back out. James (the host) is easy to communicate with and I expect would have been very quick to help out with any problems, had we experienced any. Definitely recommend!

A great vacation home for family
Beautiful property for a family vacation. Ample space and clean household. There were toys for the kids to play with. Highly recommended when visiting Portland because it close to the city and outdoor scenic places.

We (5 adults and 2 teenagers) stayed here while in Portland for a family wedding. It's a great house, and we particularly liked the layout. The teenagers could hang out in the downstairs den while the adults were upstairs in the living room. Also, this house had 3 bathrooms, which seemed hard to find in the area for a 4-bedroom house. The location is convenient with a grocery store nearby and quick interstate access, and the neighborhood is quiet. The owner communicates quickly. Overall, I highly recommend this property!

Family Home
This is a nice home for families with older relatives. Our three 70+ year old guests were quite comfortable with the two rooms and bathrooms available on the main floor.
The kitchen is well appointed with dishes and a nice gas range.

Very clean, well-stocked, spacious house
Great house for a large group. Open floor plan upstairs with large kitchen and living room seating and dining table to accommodate 8. Large family room and children’s play area downstairs. Owner was very pleasant. Only issues were downstairs bedrooms a bit cold (plenty of blankets provided) and one burner on grill is broken.

Beautiful and well equipped in a great location.
The home was beautiful, very clean and was perfect for our family Christmas. Stores were close by and the location gave easy access to places we wanted to go. Children could watch TV downstairs, go to bed and adults had their space upstairs. We ate in most of the time and kitchen had everything we could want. We even made sushi one night. James is great.

Everything we hoped for and more
This property was everything one could ask for in a rental. We enjoyed a spacious place to host our basketball team for a summer tourney. Clean property, plenty of space, all appliances were great (washer and dryer), and many different amenities. James was a great host, communicating if we needed anything during out stay and offering up some good advice to watch fireworks on the 4th.
If we ever decide to go back, we'll definitely stay here again. Thanks for allowing us to stay at your property!

Perfect home for a family getaway
The home has been completely remodeled with beautiful attention to detail throughout. The kitchen is one of the best equipped of any I’ve seen. The two bedrooms on the ground floor are set up for parents with children—there is the master bedroom and bathroom, and at the end of the hall, a bedroom with two single beds, with a full bath in the Hall. In the basement are three other bedrooms with a shared good sized full bathroom. One of the basement bedrooms has uncomfortable bunk beds. It was a bit of a challenge for us with an elder that doesn’t do stairs, so two adult children ended up with the bunk beds. There is decent WiFi, AC (which you rarely need in portland), a beautiful wrap around deck with a propane grill. The backyard is all trees and natural (no grass) so not a place to hang out. There is a play area and TV in the basement sitting room, so plenty of space if people keep need to spread out. It’s a 35 minute drive to PDX, easy on and off the I-5. Only 15 minutes from PSU and the Park Blocks. There is a long driveway for off street parking in the quiet neighborhood. We felt very safe. There is a grocery store a mile away, James, the owner is very nice and helpful. Bring house shoes as it’s a “no shoes inside” home. No hesitations recommending this home!!
