We had a family wedding at the Mountain Grand Inn. It was a short drive to Inn from the house . The house was very comfortable and had a nice deck . Worked out well for us .

This home was clean, comfortable and amazing. I felt so relaxed there. I hope that we can stay there again. The view of the mountains was just spectacular.

We had a big problem with hundreds (literally) of dead and dying flies and ladybugs inside the house. We vacuumed them up at leasts 5 times in 2 days.
The upstairs queen bed is very uncomfortable. Both showers are outdated and have low water pressure. Slow wifi. Coffee maker provided but no filters that fit and no coffee. Very few amenities.
We asked for a partial cleaning refund and were denied.

We lived coming back a second time for our girls trip. We used it as a central location as we all love hiking, then we meet up here at the end of the day.

Overall our family had a great time at this property.

The character of the home was charming and the furnishings. The frogs and turtles in pond were entertaining, especially for my granddaughter. Kitchen was well equipped.

Home is clean and inviting, very bright and open with a lot of charm and character.

5 Stars for the stay, 3 Star accommodation. LOW towel count, need more bathrooms, water pressure low because pipes in house are too small. As for the bathrooms one up stairs in bedroom, one downstairs shares with bedroom [no lock for this door] and there are 4 more sleeping space up stairs. The pool table and Dart board were unusable [better to not have them] need anti-skid strips on steep inclined steps from main floor to second floor [my daughter slipped and butt slide down 4 steps, she was unharmed] make oth space in carport available [owner storing lumber]

The property and home are amazing with many antiques, nooks, and beautiful views from the wrap around deck. Well appointed kitchen to prepare for family meals around the gorgeous dinning room table. A couple of minor issues in the kitchen include fridge running too cold, even at the lowest setting, and vent over stove not working. Bathrooms, especially the showers, are small with low water pressure on the first floor. Despite these couple of areas, I’d highly recommend this home to others looking for a ski get away or hikers year round.

Check in was easy, space was clean and well appointed. Would definitely stay there again.

This was such a comforting place to stay, felt like being home. Wrap around deck was very enjoyable at the end of the day! Bathrooms a little outdated and small but easy to make things work.
Definitely hope to book again next year, was a great home base for us as we came as a group of hikers.

We loved everything about our stay. The house was beautiful, very clean, and very well equipped. The location was perfect for us to take lovely hikes each day and eat in nice restaurants almost every night. The setting was private and peaceful. We hope to return again next year. Thanks for having us.

House was nice nice for family . Only 2 bath towels for an 8 person renting. Nice place for winter skiing but not summer with no ac. Stuck to kitchen chairs from humidity . Careful walking up stairs. Slate all cracked and uneven. A fall waiting to happen.

Beautiful Home with a Mountain View
We loved the view and the beautiful home so well appointed! Great location, near many ski areas. Peaceful. VACASA does a great job in cleaning and making sure the property is well maintained. Everyone had a great time! We look forward to returning to the Hillcroft House.

Cosy & quiet with views of the mountains. Great for unplugged ski trip..
Very clean and cosy house with tons of open living space. Some might call it "dated", I prefer "homely". The theme is lots of exposed wood and antique features.
The lighting is interesting - there are more than a dozen lamps scattered around the large living area, which creates a really charming ambience in the evenings.
Fittings and appliances are old-school - smallish TV, eccentric showers, bad internet. But the stove and dishwasher (and washer / dryer) are up to date and in perfect condition.
Another modern feature - electronic blinds.
Clearly the owners have put a lot of love into this house. It was a bit like visiting with an older uncle who is very into woodwork and getting things properly squared away.
We rented this house for a 3-night ski trip to Bretton Woods. BW is about 25mins easy drive from this house.
The road and driveway had been ploughed, but watch out for ruts.
Accessibility note: you have to climb about a dozen uneven stone steps to get up to the house. The staircase to the upper level is a bit slippery and has open steps - not easy for the very young or very old, and definitely something to warn rambunctious kids against running on.
The folks at Vacasa were very responsive - when I reported that the downstairs shower wasn't working, they had someone out the next day who fixed it.
More Pros:
Warm!
Great views of White mountains
Quiet neighbourhood
Pool table and dart board are fairly battered, so we were happy to let the kids try them without fear of damage.
Cons: internet was very flaky during our stay. Sometimes rebooting the wifi router helped.
Dish TV didn't seem to be working - we never got the larger upstairs TV to connect to anything. No big deal.
Master bedroom mattress needs updating - it sags noticeably in the middle.
Upstairs shower is teeny, tall people will struggle.
Similarly, the beds are rather small (esp the second bedroom).
Tips: Google maps brought us short of the address. You want the driveway with 2 square brick pillars, and take the left fork.
Bring your own firewood and firestarters (no working lighters/ matches on site).
Note for skiiers: no mud room.

A real charmer with great views
This is a lovely property with lots of New England Charm. Visited with 4 girlfriends for a weekend of day hikes in the Whites. Everything worked perfectly, was clean and easy to use. Views of the mountains are stunning. Fabulous star gazing. Would definitely return

Private, beautiful setting!
We loved the Mountain View @ the Hillcroft House. Accommodations were warm and welcoming. Close distance to Santa’s Village. Nice little family weekend! Beautiful view to wake up to with the mist over the mountains. Quiet and peaceful.

quiet woodsy house
Loved staying here, has all the amenities and well appointed. It hosted lots of great family get togethers. Deck is wonderful for bird watching and chatting. Access to privacy (a floor plan thing) is a bit challenging so you want to be with friends/family who are flexible (bathrooms are shared and connected to a bedroom)

Beautiful!
Loved the location, perfect for people who love hikes. The main area of living was clean and looks just like photographed.
A few small complains for this place:
1. the grill was NOT cleaned and it was very well used
2. the wifi is spotty at best (even with instructed reset) - but the cellular service was actually pretty good (Verizon) so no biggy
3. we found a small (1cm) screw facing upward stuck in the carpet by in the fireplace. We were walking barefoot and thankfully, it was small and all we did not have an accident. We removed the screw from the carpet and tossed it away
Despite everything we still enjoyed our stay very much even with bad weather. We definitely recommend!

Awesome stay
Great place for a weekend getaway ! Me and a group of couples stayed in the house for the fourth. Beautiful views even made the best of a rainy weekend & enjoyed the cozy home. Short 19 minute drive to downtown Littleton w/ my favorite brewery Shillings. Highly recommend! Also I’m an avid air bnb user first time using Vacasa. Great app and easy check in and out. Thank you!!!!

Great escape
Beautiful old house with a nice deck and pond. Really had a great time staying there. Beautiful Vista from the deck. 30 minutes to Bretton woods. 10 minutes to porcfest or Roger's campground.
Would stay again. One bathroom is teeny tiny with an awkward sink.

Sounds of nature….
Enjoyed our stay very much. The small pond on the property provided a wonderful sound with peepers and bull frogs. Place was really lovely and the views magnificent. Would certainly book again. Thanks Christina and family.

The Great Family Getaway
Our family were very pleased with our stay at your home. We were looking for an escape from this crazy life and definitely found the peace we were looking for in this beautiful home. The mountain views from inside the home were really just breath taking. Definitely a 5 star stay!!!

Cozy winter cabin
This was a clean and cozy winter cabin. Plenty on additional sleeping space if you have lots of children or are friends who don’t need/want privacy. The only 2 minor downfalls Were they do not supply firewood, while other properties we’ve rented do. There were no basic spices for cooking. Usually there is salt and pepper at least.

Beautiful house!
We absolutely loved The Hillcroft House. It was spacious and comfortable, and was perfect for my family of 3! The house is ~20-25 minutes from Bretton Woods. We loved the fireplace and the large windows with mountain views. The beds are all really comfortable. Previous commenters had said that the kitchen wasn't well-stocked, but we thought it was fine. There wasn't anything in the fridge, but there were plenty of plates, silverware, pots, and pans, and there were some pantry staples as well. The downstairs TV was actually bigger than it appears in the photos. We liked that it was a Smart TV with Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, etc. Note that there are a set of steps to get up to the house, which were icy in the winter. This may be difficult for people with mobility issues or lots of luggage. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely return!

Perfect mountain retreat!
This is a beautiful, well kept, cozy retreat atop hill that gives you gorgeous views of the mountains. Kitchen is well equipped with just the right number of pans/utensils/tools. The house is well stocked with paper goods, blankets, and towels. The layout creates a very intimate space, with many places to curl up with a good book or cup of coffee. If the weather is warm enough, the wrap around deck and yard provide additional space to relax and breathe the clean mountain air! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

A beautiful stay!
We all enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house, we are looking forward to returning. Everyone felt so comfortable and there was plenty of space for our party of 6, three adults and three kids. Our favorite feature was absolutely the fireplace. The view from the deck was another favorite. We also loved White Mountain National Park, about 25 minutes away. We will definitely be back!

We spent 4 days at this lovely location and enjoyed every minute. The entire home was immaculate and I felt no need to clean upon arrival. The views out of the downstairs windows are wonderful. The deck offers great stargazing opportunities- we watched the full moon rise, first as we had our dinner in the dining area, then we stepped outside later. Spectacular! :)
Ample room to spread out in both the living room downstairs and the den area upstairs. The kitchen was well stocked so that making a dinner was not difficult. However, bring your own foil/plastic wrap/storage bags, tissues, and napkins. The downstairs bath is accessible from the bedroom as well as from the hall. It is large and has room for toiletries in a medicine cabinet and on a hutch. There were plenty of towels for both bathrooms. The upstairs bathroom ensuite is very small; the medicine cabinet is the only pace to put toiletries; and there is no place to set your luggage in that bedroom.
We hiked at Franconia Notch (about 25 minutes away), stopped in at the quaint town of Littleton, visited The Frost Place (Robert Frost's summer home), and hiked one day in the National Forest (30 minutes away).
The weather changes in a blink of the eye so bring layers!
This large home is worth returning to season after season. We loved it!
