About this house rental

Beautiful, spacious and affordable custom-built home with seven person hot tub. Guest limit is 10. This home offers 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and hot tub. It is only a short walk to private Lake Michigan “Sunset beach”.
Twenty-two-foot-high vaulted ceilings at entrance way leads you into this lovely newer custom-built home. Located on a nicely landscaped woodsy corner lot. Powder room at entry hall and custom oversized oak trim throughout the home. Oak floors in living and dining room. Cherry kitchen cabinets, very unique beautiful Verde Marinace granite counter tops, breakfast area table seating for four, with breakfast bar seating for 2. Access to patio and deck thru sliding glass doors. Formal dining room seats 6. Large living room with colorful limestone fireplace and entertainment center and multi room stereo system. Roku TV. Free WIFI. Sofa converts to queen size bed. Master suite with large bath with double vanity, oversize whirlpool tub and glass enclosed shower. Master suit also has direct access onto deck with large seven-person hot tub. Which also accesses onto a large patio and nice woodsy back yard. Vintage Woodard wrought iron patio furniture, dining table and chairs for 4 and comfortable seating for 6 more. There is a chiminea and charcoal grill for your use. Firewood is provided.
The second level features 3 bedrooms, 1 full bath and large loft office area with rustic Mexican equipale furniture and desk for workstation. Not only is this home fully equipped with all dishes, cookware, toaster, coffee pot, coffee grinder, blender & cooking utensils, towels / linens, but the décor is warm, comfortable and inviting. For your convenience a washer and dryer are provided.
Two adult bikes provided for your use.
Enjoy New Buffalo Public Lake Michigan Beach which is a short 3 miles away. New Buffalo Public Beach, Michigan City Public Beach, Mount Baldy, Silver Beach & Warren Dunes State Park are all open to the public, and highly recommended with inexpensive parking fees. There's so much to do in the area. PLEASE NOTE: Due to erosion, The Private Association "Sun Set Beach" may Not be useable. ** As of March18, 2023 Sunset Beach is useable, you must climb stairs to use.
We are conveniently located 3 miles from downtown New Buffalo. 1 mile from Grand Beach golf course, 2 miles from Whittaker Woods golf course. 7 miles from Blue Chip Casino, Four Winds Casino Is about 5 miles. Calumet trail is about 8 miles. Light house Mall outlet shopping, International Friendship Gardens, Winery tours, antique stores, farmer markets, U pick farms, romantic picnics.
We are located 60 miles from Chicago. 30 miles from South Bend Notre Dame. Amtrak stops in New Buffalo 3 miles from the house. The South Shore train stops in Michigan City, about 8 miles from the house. An easy day trip.
This house is newer to VRBO, although the owners are not. We also have three homes less than a mile away listed on VRBO, these 3 homes are walking distance apart, and can be rented individually or together for a large family gathering. New Buffalo has a slower relaxed pace in late fall and winter. We rent throughout the year. Fall and winter can be a very beautiful and relaxing time to take a break. The fall colors can be amazing. Many restaurants offer discounts. Winters can be an absolute gorgeous, serene winter wonderland. This is really the best time to kick back, relax and take some much-needed time for yourself!

Couldn’t have been more happy with our stay at this location. It was beautiful. We all loved having our coffee on the patio and watching the wildlife feed 20 feet away. Plenty of room for all and a really nice neighborhood. Definitely a hit.

Very nice and spacious house. Everything was well maintained and clean. Walking distance to a private beach. 5 min drive to downtown New Buffalo. Host was very pleasant and responsive. Overall a great experience.

It was perfect for my wife's 70th birthday week. 4 bedrooms with queen beds accommodated our family for the celebration. Live deer coming to the rear of the house each day was a plus.

Close to downtown Buffalo, wineries, short ride to Dunes. Very clean and spacious house. Great for a girls weekend. Beautiful landscaping and backyard!

Property was perfectly clean! Beautiful house and neighborhood with lots of things to do in the area. Gold cart didn’t work so walk to the beach was a little much with all of our items.

This was a great home to stay for a girls trip! We had plenty of space and everything was very tidy. Jan was a great help when we got there - she showed us around the property and made sure we knew how to use the hot tub! We had a wonderful time!

Nice house, nice neighborhood. Jan , the owner, was very good with communicating. Stayed there for my wife's birthday, and hosted a dinner party with family and friends. Iys was a very enjoyable stay!!! Looking forward to staying at one Jan's properties again!!!

We stayed at this property while in town for a wedding and everything was great! The room are comfy and the home is spacious, and the hot tub was a very nice touch. The backyard patio is nice to sit on as well.

Dogwood Delight was a very nice house located in Grand Beach (New Buffalo). The four bedroom house was very clean, had a very nice outdoor patio area and was conveniently located for our weekend activities. We had a minor issue with the hot tub, but Jan resolved that promptly. The golf cart that is mentioned in the property description did not appear to be usable, however we did not contact Jan during our stay and just walked to the beach. We were not able to locate any bathroom washclothes but that was the only other slight issue we encountered. The house was plenty roomy for our group of eight and we had a great weekend.

Jan was a great host. She greeted my friends and I upon arrival and gave us some details about her home. Her place is spacious and clean, and her communication was quick and efficient. The location is perfect, being just outside of New Buffalo and also very close to the lake. I will definitely consider renting from Jan again in the future. Thank you again!

Everything was well maintained. A little farther then we wanted from the beach. We had hoped that the sunset beach was open which would have been near the property but it was closed for repairs. I would have liked having wash clothes in the home, only towels were available. Over all it was still a good time.

Jan's home is minutes away from several parks, beaches, restaurants, casinos, mini golf, real golf, and much more. Some of our party also enjoyed a day in Chicago. This is a good spot for families. I happily recommend it.

We had a great time at Jan's house in New Buffalo. House was as advertised; very clean, beds were were very comfortable and Hot Tub was great. We especially liked sitting on the large patio in the backyard and watching the different kinds of birds in the trees. Even had a few deer come within 30 feet of us. Communication with Jan was excellent. Location to Warren Dunes and New Buffalo center was also excellent. Would definitely rent from Jan again!

The home was adequate, however it felt like false advertising. The grill was smaller than a portable grill. The fire-pit was non-existent. Honestly, our biggest concern was that there were these random little metal wires throughout the home, especially on the first floor. Our 6 year old daughter had an aluminum wire puncture fully through her finger. They were randomly around the house which made her bleed significantly. After searching the home, we found 4 more thin aluminum wires that were potential dangerous to everyone. I would not advise this place for kids. We're just happy our child was not severely injured after staying here.

The house was exactly as described and shown in the pictures. Jan was very responsive and communicative throughout. We had no issues with our stay. Loved the awesome hot tub! Beds were very comfortable along with the lovely inviting house. Just a short drive to downtown New Buffalo or Michigan City. Would definitely stay there again.
