The bedding was comfortable. Scenery was lovely.
The lady that received us was rude and made us feel unwelcome. As if we were an inconvenience to her. So unprofessional!

The location is exceptional. I have been visiting Blue Haze regularly since the BMW Rally featured the resort in April 2014. I have often stopped here with family members and friends while travelling to visit he KZN Midlands. This was the first time I have brought a group of fellow riders to stay overnight. The location and meals were as good as ever.
I had seen something about a key deposit when booking but had never had this at any of the many booking.Com facilities I have stayed at in South Africa or abroad. I assumed it was an error. when we arrived we were told we had to pay this amount before we could access the rooms. We were a group of three middle aged motorcyclists who had just ridden across Lesotho from Ficksburg and had just come down Sani Pass. The last thing we needed was to pay R2100 in cash or have our cards deducted and refunded a few days later. When we suggested they cancel our booking and refund us the desk clerk relented and showed it to our rooms.
While I understand the hotel’s need to safeguard against damage done by guests, there are better ways to manage this. Booking.Com has our history of stays and could provide a means to rate and if necessary block list those who damage hotel rooms. Offenders can be charged by booking.Com as they have our banking details. There are ways to protect both parties without springing this type of charge on guests.

Beautiful horses and Adam
Don’t like the R700 deposit you need to pay for the TV remotes. Didn’t come here to watch TV. they should give you the option not to have to take the TV remotes.

Location was perfect and the scenery was beautiful! Such a gem of a place with amazing views of Wagendrift dam.
Struggled with the gas geyser so much so that I had a cold shower. The rest of the family managed to get a warm bath so their luck was a bit better than mine. Mould in the bathroom was a bit of a disappointment. Overall clean but kitchen blinds are dirty and there was no dishwashing liquid or a tea towel/drying cloth for the dishes. Also no can opener in the unit we were in. Unit 5

The security guard was willing to help us more than the actual staff members
The entire process was terrible. One lady called me and told me I will pay R 1000 for brokerage fee but when I got to the lodge the guy who was checking me in told me he was told a different amount. It took over 20 minutes to sort this issue out, and I was told it would be refunded to me in 10 working days. I had to contact them again requesting for my money and I was told in one line that I won't get my money and there was no elaboration regarding the reasons for not getting my money. Not once did they contact me within the 10 days regarding rules broken or anything relating to that matter.
They are unprofessional and have the worst service.

The room was stuffy, maybe a bit of renovation will do. The smell of the room is highly affected by the wardrobe smell, very disappointed.

Scenery and 3 of the staff members (Nokwanda, Monde, Senzo) were really helpful
The treatment and condescending tone from management staff (Mel) staff member happiness literally told us we were troubling her when we asked for a glass of water. The lack of clarity when we asked about anything and just the overall mistreatment and rudeness of the staff.
