Excellent waterfront views. Fantastic location. Easy long walks to lighthouse with my dog. Long afternoons on waterfront lawn reading with constant breezes despite the humid weather in Rockland. Bathroom is old and needs to be replaced but small trade off for the location and price. Owner was super, very responsive to our texts. If you need the second bedroom, (we did not), it is very musty and may be an issue for some. If you are fussy and expect a spotless rental, pay much more elsewhere as we did need to clean the bathroom and wipe down all surfaces, but as I said price and location was worth having to do this.

This might have been the prettiest location in Maine I’ve visited. I grew up visiting family in the Moosehead Lake area and it is beautiful. But Port Clyde and the location of this cottage is such a lovely spot. I loved sitting and watching the fishing boats and the Monhegan ferry coming and going and being able to walk to get ice cream, coffee or a lobster roll within a two minute walk. I look forward to visiting again.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this Port Clyde rental. It's a very quaint, quiet, pleasant and private place to stay. It contained everything that we needed.
Thank you to our host for being so accommodating.

I love the location, centered in the village!
The owner was very prompt in responding to all of our questions, especially since we were the first renters of the season😉
My only suggestion would be to add black out curtains in the bedrooms as the sunrise is really early during the end of May! Perhaps a notebook for renters with common questions/answers…Definitely would book again!!!!! 💕

My family stayed here in June 2023. We have stayed in Port Clyde before and have always enjoyed it but staying directly on the water was pure perfection.
The house worked wonderfully for our family of four.
We visit family in Spruce Head, Maine at least once a year and it’s our time for seafood galore.
The lobster pot / propane set up was used daily for the lobsters we purchased on the dock. FYI - Lobsters were $8/lb for soft shell during our stay.
We walked to Port Clyde Fresh Catch and bought halibut and crab. Took a drive to Weskeag Oyster company and brought back our fill of $1 oysters.
There’s an art gallery in a barn-like structure across from the general store that is open a few days a week for happy hour.
The walk to Marshall Point lighthouse is such a joy.
Thank you Michael for opening your home to us.

My husband, our dog and I thoroughly enjoyed our week in this little cottage in the heart of Port Clyde! It was our 30th wedding anniversary, and the views from the cottage were stunning at all times of the day. A sea glass hunter’s paradise and the host was super responsive to our needs. A lovely place to walk and watch all of the harbor’s activities. Hope to be able to stay there in the future!

In town near store and ferry. Great spot.

It isn’t fancy, but Mike never claims it is. Awesome old-school beach house in a delightful location. Yes, it is loud in the morning, but you get used to it. Not for people who want fancy or perfection, but if you like mismatched comfort and a killer view, it’s for you.

This rental had everything you need for a fun and relaxing vacation! We enjoyed walking next door to the ice cream shop, the general store, the ferry landing, etc. The host was very kind and helpful, as well.

We loved this location, right on the harbor in the center of Port Clyde. The house is rustic and perfect. New floors have it a clean look. Great beds, which is always a surprise. Responsive owner made it easy to communicate.

Great waterfront location in the village
The positives: We three sisters in our 60s and our small dog really liked the location of this simple house on the water. We went swimming at high tide, took the ferry over to Monhegan for the day, kayaked, and relaxed outside on the spacious deck and lawn with the wonderful shade trees, watching the tides and the boats come and go. We could walk to the grocery store, the ferry, the bakery, and restaurants.
The interior of the house is simply furnished and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you will need and there are multiple tables for eating or doing puzzles or playing games. The TV with streaming service was great and the WIFI was good. AT&T cell phone service was spotty, but there is a house phone you can use.
The negatives: There is a working warehouse across the street that starts before 6am and is very loud in the twin bedroom which faces it. That is the only reason we couldn't give the location 5 stars. There is no place to hang your clothes in the master bedroom (hooks or a standalone wardrobe would fix that) and there were zero hangers in the twin bedroom closet. There is some ceiling mold and some of the windows won't open and need screens. The lawn chairs should be refurbished or replaced. These are small issues that impacted our stay but we still enjoyed ourselves very much and would recommend the house to others.
Mike is a very responsive host and easy to get in touch with. Check in and communication couldn't have been better. Thank you, Mike!

Perfect Retreat
We arrived at this home and installed y fell in love with it. The water view is second to none! The little hamlet of Port Clyde is just around the bend and you will find everything you need.
The bed is comfortable and the home is vintage adorable. I could have stayed forever thank you for sharing your home. We will absolutely return.

Working village without the summer crowds
I was there for a three week period of mostly solitude and enjoyed the changes of fall, the movements of tides, The predawn walks to watch the sun rise at Point Marshall and the variety of birds who also enjoyed the changing tides in the inlet in front of the house as well as chats with the various humans who live and work there, such as Glenn Libby founder of the Seafood Coop. . House is simple, well appointed, could do with a new paint job inside due to some wear and a bit of mildew but otherwise perfect for a simple getaway without being isolated.

Fall in Port Clyde
This property has an amazing view of the coast. The owner was very accommodating.
We found Port Clyde to be very charming, well kept secret on the coast of Maine.

Perfect location!
This cute little house was our home base for a week. It is conveniently located close to Marshall Point and Pemaquid lighthouses, as well as a short walk to the Monhegan Ferry, and Rockland and Camden are nearly.
The kitchen is very nicely stocked if you want to cook a meal. The view from the living room window is spectacular. The only downside is there is no closet available for use in the Master bedroom. Otherwise this property checked all of our boxes.
There is a wonderful bakery nearby as well as a General store with a wonderful selection of food and adult beverages. The General store also has a cafe.
I will definitely recommend this house to those who have mobility issues, everything is on one level and only a few steps to access the house.

Perfect Place to Relax & Enjoy Nature
Property is as pictured. It was a a great location & house very cozy. The constant view of the waterfront was absolutely wonderful. You couldn’t ask for a better location to enjoy the little village of Port Clyde. So enjoyable to go out most days searching for sea glass right at your doorstep. Easy walk to ferry, general store & other places to visit by the water front. Due to the lateness in the season most eating places were closed or limited days & hours. Enjoyed eating at the General Store counter for breakfast though we had most meals at the house. Getting to Rockland was very easy & a nice drive which is where we grocery shopped for our meals. Just a beautiful area. We went out on a recreational lobster boat tour through the Wyeth museum & it was very interesting learning about local history of Port Clyde. Most fun & interesting tour. Michael was very responsive on check in & checkout guidance. My only complaint is we didn’t rent for two weeks instead of just the one.….. Michael thanks for letting us stay at your house.

Charming house
Loved the location!! Loved the town of port Clyde - house was charming but some areas could have been cleaner. Blinds, tables, heater vents. deck had trash that we cleaned up. There was laundry still in washer and dryer when we got there. We wondered about trash/recycling … might be nice to have some kind of write up on taking care of house. But overall we completely enjoyed our stay!!!!

First Time in Maine!
This property is in a wonderful location...right on the water. Watching the tide move in and out was the very best. So peaceful. The seagulls and dock wake up early! So be ready for that. Overall, it was a very lovely two weeks. Make sure you go kayaking! And Monhegan Island was a favorite! Say hi to the Puffins as well. Now, book your trip to Maine!

Can’t beat the location!
We had a great stay! The house had everything we needed, we especially enjoyed all the puzzles. You can’t beat the location, the beach is right out the front door, kids enjoyed finding sea glass. Property manager was responsive to all our questions and needs.

Location, location, location
Staying directly on the harbor of an active fishing port was wonderful. Each morning, I would listen to the gentle chug of lobster boats leaving the port. I appreciated the short walk to the general store for coffee and breakfast each morning, and that they opened at 6am. Squid Ink espresso opened nearby at 8am, and the bakery/ice cream shop would supply freshly b baked cookies and baked pies for me to order. It was great to be immersed in this small town with a direct bay view from the living room window and kitchen. Equally short walk to the ferry to Monhegan Island. I hope to stay here again.

Excellent week by the sea
We had a great week in a lovely spot. Enjoyed the clean, comfortable house with the perfect view of the harbor and the changing tides. Great to sit on the large deck for morning coffee or dinner. The house is well equipped so we were able to make all our meals. Port Clyde is very quiet this time of year which was perfect for our relaxing getaway. The local general store was closed but Tenants Harbor Store has just about everything just a few miles away. Overall, an excellent location and a taste of the real Maine.

Unforgettable View
The view here is completely unforgettable and amazing! To top that off, you have direct water access right from the yard as well which is honestly one of my main reasons for booking. We did stay on the off season so I cant account for how it would be in the Summer/peak season, but the atmosphere was quiet and calm. Perfect for a low key getaway. The house itself is cozy and welcoming, and accommodated 4 adults very well. It was also great being able to have our furbaby with us, she had an absolute blast sniffing every single rock in the beach. My favorite part personally was the couch that sits right in front of a big picture window. It was fantastic being able to cuddle up and still see the view. The wifi was great and we never had an issue which appeased everyone when we werent our exploring the surrounding area. The owner was very friendly and attentive whenever I needed to contact him with any questions. I would absolutely love to stay here in the future if we ever find overself staying in the area again!

Simple house on water
This is a simple house with lovely light and gorgeous views. It was lovely to see the tide come in every day. My pooch loved it and went swimming daily. The beds were comfortable. The coffee maker and toaster oven could be updated. It would be ideal if there was another couch instead of three tables in the main living space. Loved that we got netflix and could watch some series we enjoyed and the Wi-fi works great.

Ideal!
Could not have been more ideal. If you enjoy waking to the sounds and sights of the seaside, gazing at a starlit sky at night from the deck, walking around a quaint harbor town, kayaking off the property (our favorite!) or just sticking your chair in the water at low tide, this is the spot. The house is clean and well equipped. Mike, the owner, was excellent at responding to our emails. And considering the Covid climate and uncertainty as to whether he could host us or if we could travel there, he kept lines of communication wide open as our week neared. We are so happy that we were able to commit to our week. We are a family of four adults and were quite comfortable sharing the house. Thanks for hosting us! Looking forward to our return trip.
