Quiet and convenient location

Lovely property in a very quiet location. We were given clear instructions on how to find the house and how to get in.
Easy to find a space to park out on a nearby street. The bed is extremely comfortable and the bedding and towels were clean and good quality. There is a lot of information about things to do and local amenities, but we weren't there long enough to explore more - next time we will stay a bit longer! Thanks for the biscuits and fresh vegetables!

Very spacious. Very clean though out. Easy to find with good directions provided. Tea, coffee and fresh milk was very welcome after long drive. There was lots of information about the surrounding area. The location was excellent with great walks all around. We enjoyed the log fire in the evening very much. Thank you.

A beautiful property in the heart of Froggatt. Delightful period features with a lovely sunny terrace. Large rooms provide space to unwind and relax. Kathy the owner was friendly and approachable. The location is a great place to start many walks along the river Derwent and Froggatt Edge but also further afield. We will return.

Rock view has it all. It's cosy and comfortable but there's heaps of room with a separate sitting room and dining room. It's quiet and private, but still just a 10 minute walk from the local pub for some good food or stay at home and cook in the fantastic kitchen. And after a long day walking the local hills or lazing in the suntrap of a courtyard the shower is brilliant and the bed comfy. Plus your host, Kathy, is very approachable and friendly.

what an amazing period cottage, tastefully converted and interior designed. The location in this picturesque village meant we parked the camper van up easily on road and forgot about it ; going on several beautiful walks from the front door. We had intended to eat at local pub but found the kitchen facilities and the lounge area so appealing we cooked instead; having a G&T on patio listening to the birds and no traffic noice at all .
we only booked two nights but will definitely be back . many thanks

Liked the quiet location. Easy to reach good walks and interesting places.
Lighting in living room not good for reading, Steps from gate to house quite steep for OAPs !

This was our second stay at Rock View we came last year and couldn’t wait to return. The cottage is clean and the rooms are spacious with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Froggatt is a beautiful old village with walking paths in every direction not just the hills but also along the lovely Derwent Valley, we hardly used our car all week. There are four pubs serving really good food within easy walking distance. The owner Kathy was very helpful with ideas etc and we hope to see her again next year.
There was nothing we didn’t like

Not alot oc outside space but not a major issue

The property was in the perfect location for us, 20minuet drive to Castleton with plenty of walks to do, train station 10min drive up the road to go to Sheffield or Manchester and even a couple of walks for the doorstep. The cottage itself had everything we needed and even a little backpack for our walks (which we forgot to pack).
Didn’t have its own parking, however there was always room to park on the road outside the property

A comfortable, stylish and well-appointed cottage in a great location with an amenable owner! Easy to find and good hints on walks. Really enjoyed my stay.

Had a lovely two night stay here... the village is lovely and Kathy was very friendly and available if needed.
The chequers inn was a great place for food and only a short walk.
The heating wouldn’t come on in the morning.... certainly made me get dressed quickly! Unfortunately it could have done with a thorough clean... maybe it has been empty for a while. All in all a lovely weekend. Thank you

A very comfortable bed and a good shower. Fantastic central heating. Plenty of space. A bottle of wine and chocolate biscuits for us on arrival. A very good pub a short walk away, but bring a torch!!
