This guest house was well overpriced for what was offered. It was the second most expensive place we stayed during our trip to Iceland. There was no comparison to the most expensive hotel we stayed in.
The lady at the reception was very friendly. The shared kitchen was OK. The views were great. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The blinds in the room were excellent for shutting out the light.
Sadly I do not usually give a bad report but I need to say it as it is.
There was insufficient soundproofing between the cabins, I could here people next door talking quite easily.
The cabin was extremely small, the smallest area we had stayed in during our 9 day trip. There was way too much furniture for the size of the room. Remove one of the chairs and add a fold down table.
The bed was most uncomfortable as were the pillows.
The shelf over the sink needs moving as you hit your head on it when washing.
I feel ripped off by this guesthouse and would not recommend you stay here if you are on a tight budget. It certainly was not value for money sadly.
There was no TV in the shared kitchen.

Tolle Lage, direkt am See!

Great location, fantastic breakfast. Friendly staff.
Small bathroom. No shelf in shower to put toiletries. No where to hang towels in bathroom. Small second bedroom, no space to open suitcases. Small living room.

These were nice little huts by the side of the lake, there is a good sized shared kitchen and dining area with everything you need to make a meal. I was also lucky enough to do some laundry which was a life saver.
This was also the first place I got to see the Northern Lights 😍
The walls between the huts/rooms are very thin. I planned to have a nice lie in (as the sun didn’t rise until 10) but my neighbours had early morning romantic plans 😬 which I’m pretty sure they didn’t intend for anyone to overhear but suffice to say I didn’t get to lie in.

Amazing location, family owned hotel by the lake. The room was clean and very comfortable. Access to a shared kitchen and there’s also the option to pay for a superb homemade breakfast. They make their own smoked trout and smoked lamp. The owners can also arrange activities for you in the area at discounted rates. Would definitely recommend!

There was no breakfast. We were very hungry after a bad storm and no food available.
There was no food or any refreshments to purchase. We were told to go the nearest town 6km away in a storm. My child was also very hungry and upset. The Lodge was like a dorm with very basic furniture. For the price we thought it was very basic with no facilities.

A great place to stay when doing road trip around iceland. We saw the aurora here.n
Room was clean with comfortable bed. Quite cold during winter because the walls are wood esp the bathroom. But they have 2 working heaters. Wifi available.
Easy self checkin.
Use the GPS coordinate given for directions. It is the right one compared to the one given by booking.com.
This cottage has the parking is beside the secondary road. You need to walk from the parking to the house. With heavy luggages it is quite effortful. But still a great stay with them. Cottages 1-2 and 4 though parkings are just in front of the house.

I would say the best accommodation ever in my Iceland trip. They have complete cooking set, comfortable sleeping room, nice balcony, excellent ice mountain and lake view.
Don’t judge a book by its cover. Despite I was a bit disappointed when I first arrived- the property located in a factory/ workshop alike area, with strong engine oil smell and not tidy surrounding (i.e.: burnt rubbish/ abandoned engine parts), however it gave us the most pleasant experience inside the house. We saw northern light inside the house with mountain and lake view, so we don’t need to suffer the cold weather outside!
the owner may tell you it is quite far from town, in fact it is not! the location is just nice to capture the northern light!

Breakfast was incredible! They smoke their own fish and meats, homemade breads and jams, and fresh fruit and vegetables. We originally planned to stay 2 nights but a pretty severe ice storm closed the Ring Road so we stayed a 3rd night. Helgi is an absolute delight to deal with and has great knowledge about and recommendations on various sites to visit. She makes you feel like family.
There was nothing I didn't like.

Very good location for northern lights, good breakfast, nice owners.
We have been upgraded from a double room to a cottage which was really appreciated.
Very dirty oven without a dish.
Kitchen and appliances should be changed and renovated such as the hairdryer super old and not functional. Bad quality mastress (back pains for both of us)

The host were so nice and involved, the location, the little clean chalet, the authentic and local fresh products for breakfast.
I would enjoyed a TV for evening news but I understand that you can also survive without it

Lovely cottages with all necessary amenities, perfect location and very clean and comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer! The breakfast was excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. Views of Lake Myvatn couldn't be beat! Incredible sunset at midnight.
The double bed mattress needs to be turned or replaced, it's very worn and sunken. We ended up moving into the bunk beds for a better sleep.

Excellent location. We ended our night with a visit to the Myvatn Nature Bath and started the next day with a yummy breakfast next the Myvatn lake. What more to ask.
Would have been perfect if there were window screens. We kept all windows closed to prevent black flies flying inside. Would have enjoyed the breeze if there were window screens.

The cottages are so cosy and comfortable! They are right at the margin of the Dimmuborgir lava formations and the bedroom window offers a great view of the lava field and the Hverfjall crater. Perfect space for a family of 3, with a small living with kitchenette and a bedroom. Loved the wooden walls, the tiny windows, the functionality of it all. There is everything one needs in the kitchen + a barbecue we didn't have time to use. The two house dogs are adorable and the owners are incredibly friendly, too. The property location is perfect: 10 minutes away from the glorious Myvatn Nature Bath, Hverfjall crater, Hverir and many others. Only Dettifoss is a bit farther (about 1 hour). We only wish we could have stayed much longer.
Absolutely nothing.
