Couldn't wish for a better place to stay, with lovely hosts. In a good position in the village, with a lovely quiet back yard. The hosts clearly like to make visitors feel welcome and comfortable. There was a loaf of bread and jam waiting on the kitchen table, and pint of milk in the fridge. Bedroom was very large with a comfortable oversize bed. Kitchen has everything you need and is again large. The lounge feels like home, and is extremely comfortable. I can't recommend this cottage enough! Worth paying a visit to the Peak Hotel for food, not overpriced and plenty of it.
There is absolutely nothing we didn't like.

Ideal location for what we needed as our family live locally and we were there to spend time with them.
Heating system could have been pre-set better or instructions available for its use.

A beautiful and cosy cottage in a prime location in the heart of Castleton. The facilities are exceptional and it was spotlessly clean. Perfect base for exploring.

Everything about our stay was perfect. The cottage could not be a better place for 2 people to spend time together.
Castleton itself was very busy over the weekend but, obviously there is a good reason for that and it didn't spoil our stay in the slightest.

The little touches: fresh loaf of local bread; marmalade/jam; tea/coffee; olive oil and mixture of herbs/spices. Cottage had a very warm, cosy feel to it.
We had been warned that the bath was, essentially, inoperable (but the shower was great). Not a deal breaker at all. And we would happily stay again following the forthcoming repairs/upgrades.

The location was perfect, the welcome bread and jam were a lovely touch. Denise (the owner next door) was lovely and very welcoming. The bed was so comfy, and on arrival the cottage smelled amazing. The comment book for visitors shows how much of a perfect cottage it is as reading, there were many revisits, up to 12 times for some. We loved it and Castleton is a delightful village with plenty of walks from every corner so no need for the car.
My tall husband hit his head on the low doorways a few times but I think that says more about my husband than the cottage.

The cottage was warm, cozy, had all the facilities you need. Location was great. Lovely touch with the welcome basket - the bread was scrumpy! Thank you.
You've thought of everything. Would definitely recommend to anyone. The food in the Cheshire Cheese next door and the Peak Hotel just a bit further along was great.
