It’s well located just outside Grasmere, from the moment we arrived the staff were friendly, helpful and charming. Our room was excellent and spotless and our evening meals were also superb as was breakfast. It’s also very attractive inside now, it’s obviously had a face lift since our last visit and much improved but the staff stand out especially for praise. Thank you.
Nothing.

Traditional old establishments!
Room was small but ok for the 2 nights.

The food was lovely 👌views from the room, how dog friendly it was, 15 min walk into Grasmere and parking on site
Bed was a bit uncomfortable, shower tray over flows a bit, so quick shower, only small gripes as we loved our stay
2.5
Staff were lovely and the location was perfect. Views are amazing.
Room was tiny and like a sauna. Lack of ventilation made for an uncomfortable nights sleep.
Thought it was also slightly over priced but understand the price given it was bank holiday.

very clean and comfortable. staff very friendly
food was excellent and it was great being upstairs in a lovely quiet pub
we had two issues with our shower. The shower head wouldn’t stay up and you had to hold it and secondly there was banging in the plumbing which reduced the water pressure furring our three day stay. they fixed the shower head bracket on day 3 but couldn’t rectify the pipe banging before we left.

ideal location so close to walk in to grasmere , very cosy inside and food was great , especially breakfast. rooms was tidy and well decorated unfortunately the mattress was so uncomfortable my partner had no sleep for 3 days it was so hard.
unfortunately we was there for 3 nights and never got any fresh towels from the day we arrived , no bed was made or any house keeping at all which was a bit of a shame considering we was there 3 nights a room refresh would of been appreciated.
some staff was pleasant especially Chris he was amazing at looking after us , some not so pleasant. we stayed for New Year’s Eve and we booked a table in the restaurant we got sat at the worst table in the whole place so close to another table making it very very awkward for both us and the other couple , when there was another table close by that was free , we couldn’t wrap our head around why we had been sat there , until Chris noticed the awkwardness of how close we was to another table and kindly moved us to a better table. the two bar staff on the night Chris and another guy made our stay with there pleasant customer service and looked after us well.
breakfast was very awkward as we turned up at 9:15 and breakfast finished at 9:30 and basically said quickly sit down then, and we realised some people hadn’t even been given there breakfast yet so couldn’t see the issue baring in mind there was around 6 couples in total. I would say my advice would be is to be more happy and pleasant with guests as we noticed some staff looked like they didn’t even want to be there . other than that we had a great time.

Beautiful little quiet pub in a great location. Had an evening meal when I arrived and it was lovely.
4.5
It was cosy and comfortable with excellent food and pleasant staff.
The shower in our room only had half a glass screen, we were worried about the water that was splashing out of the other side of the shower so had to put a towel on the floor.
