About this apartment rental
Haus Edelweiss awaits you in the heart of Little Switzerland at over 3500’ of elevation! Situated directly off the Blue Ridge Parkway and less than one minute to all that Little Switzerland has to offer including: shopping, dining, (seasonal dates are April-October), and hiking to Grassy Creek Falls. Up to four guests enjoy a private entrance, own deck, kitchenette (range/oven, sink, mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster), living area, queen-sized bed, pull-out couch, full bath, washer/dryer, flat screen smart tv, and wifi.
The space: Guests will have over 600 square feet of living space and their own deck.
Other things to note: Little Switzerland shops and dining are closed during the winter months of November-March, but the Blue Ridge Parkway remains open as long as there is no snow or ice. There are several nice towns nearby such as Marion, Spruce Pine, Bakersville, and Burnesville that have shops and dining year round.
In the winter months be prepared for snow/ and or ice covered roads including our driveway. We cannot guarantee that the driveway will be cleared due to unpredictable weather and the lack of snow removal equipment. If there is a chance of snow/ ice, you will be required: to either drive a 4WD vehicle, have snow chains, or park below and walk up our steep 200 meter paved driveway. We will let you know of any impending hazardous weather when you book with us.

We (me, husband and 10 yr old) stayed for 3 days for my husband's birthday. This little rental was perfect! It was clean and welcoming. There were extra amenities like snacks, toiletries and other items we've normally always brought ourselves to rentals. You were within walking distance of 2 restaurant, a coffee shop/book store and a few other kitche shops. It was a great location to stay!

Wonderful stay at comfy cozy mountain home.
You could hear the hosts a tiny bit but could tell they did all they could to give privacy and seclusion. It was very negligible and the place was so comfortable! Great bathroom, good cooking area, great view! The porch was wonderful and the light coming in the main windows in the mornings was delightful. All the little touches were there. We picked up extra wood and had a fire each night. The hosts had kindling and paper to start it. This was a really nice stay, we highly recommend it.

Very clean and cozy. Very private and easy to locate. The host has thought of everything to accommodate guests. Plush towels, a kitchenette with stove, microwave and refrigerator. Wi-fi and TV. Beautiful views. Five stars all around.

Little Switzerland fiasco.
DID NOT SAY THERE!! Arrived at 2:45 PM - no one home and no directions on how to access property.
Contacted Expedia using their virtual assistant explained the situation and after 30 minutes of back and forth texts referred me to an agent . The phone signal was weak but was able to first speak to Mustafa who set up a case number - 117168824. Unfortunately loss the signal and called back a second time and spoke to Jesus. At this point we had been waiting for over one hour outside the property with bugs all around us. This was suppose to be our 3 day stay to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Explained everything to Jesus and told him that we had been waiting over one hour and that we had ENOUGH. We decided to return home. He said he would try to contact the host and to give him a few more minutes - after another 10 minutes he came on the line and said no one picked up the phone. I this point we started driving home. We were in conversation with Jesus who stated that he would process a cancelation and full refund. He also offered us a free night stay for our troubles. I was hesitant as we had decided to head home but told him to try - at this point we received a text at 4:12 PM from the host providing us with access instructions to the properly. Her text stated that we should have received access instructions from VRBO two days ago and she does not know why they were not sent??? We texted her back that it was too late and heading home

I was here to visit a few friends at the Little Switzerland Inn and needed to find a place to stay in and stumbled upon this hidden gem. The property is nestled on a hill, I have a very low car so I was very glad to have a paved road and my own space to park safely overnight.
The suite was very spacious, had everything I needed to make a quick meal, and clean after myself. The view from the balcony was amazing as I watched the fog dissipate in the morning while having breakfast. It was very peaceful and quiet and I must have slept like a baby during the night.
I would absolutely stay here again! Thanks for letting me stay at your wonderful place.

Beautiful views and area. Place was exactly as pictures described. Nice homemade listing of local attractions and a few bonus snacks that were a nice addition. A little hard to find at night, so get there while the suns still up haha.

My husband and I spent two nights in the Little Switzerland Guess House during the height of the fall color season. Our host was especially helpful, giving us information on the most scenic hikes and mountain views to take full advantage of the fall scenery. She also had some really good restaurant recommendations! We loved our short stay and look forward to visiting again!!

The property is great, well maintained with a wonderful view. Being form the low country of SC where it is not only hot but also humid it was great to get fresh air. The owners are very cordial and pleasant. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Great get-away!
This peaceful guest house is very comfortable and well-appointed, close to shopping in Little Switzerland. The view from the deck was wonderful. We also enjoyed the snacks and the chocolates!

Great Location & Amazing Host
My son, a close friend and I took a trip to the area to ride our motorcycles for the weekend and had an amazing time. The area is beautiful, guest house is cozy and well appointed, and the homemade fudge was awesome ;-)
I've stayed at a lot of rentals over the years and have to say that Judith's communication was over the top. Every question I had received an immediate response. She even booked us dinner reservations at the Switzerland Inn (great food BTW).
Thank you again for making our weekend so relaxing!!

Absolutely Perfect

The drive to the cottage is nothing less than stunning.. I’ve always loved the mountains. The restaurant’s are in walking distance and the cottage is a historic stone house. Almost as though you’re stepping back in time. Judith made sure before we got there that our rooms were warm which was very kind- it was freezing. The views from this place are breath taking. Couldn’t ask for better communication. They were fast & friendly. The room was very clean & up kept. The owners kept it well stocked with everything you may need! Toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner, soap, coffee, snacks, etc. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking!

Exactly what I was looking for!
I had to attend a memorial service in Spruce Pine and needed a rental for one night. This place was exactly what I was looking for. Judith was so easy to work with and provided all the details necessary for a seamless check-in process. The sunrise view from the porch is unparalleled.

Everything went very smoothly. From the online reservation, to the ease of checking in, and to the ease of checking out, everything was perfect. Also the owners were very very nice and very very helpful. Would certainly recommend this place to friends.

Mountain getaway
The studio apartment was easy to locate. It was spotless. The kitchen had all needed accessories and extra goodies like granola bars, hot chocolate, and oatmeal. The host, Judith, was very friendly and happy to help me find things to do in the area. The apartment is within walking distance to Little Switzerland shops and restaurants. The deck was so peaceful. Beautiful view with amenities
Had a wonderful view from the patio and gracious host. Studio type setting with a large bathroom and washer and dryer. Lots of snacks, bottles of water, and coffee. Our hosts were very responsive and incredibly nice. Little Switzerland's restaurant next door is great and they can get you a reservation. Nice touches like shampoo and conditioner if you didn't want to go digging in your toiletry bag. Great place to see the sunrise. Very close to nice hikes and waterfalls.

I had an excellent two-night stay recently. This little apartment is a gem, with everything you need. The owners were very personable and helpful but not overbearing at all. They are also very thoughtful, with lots of goodies in the fridge for free. There's not a lot in Little Switzerland, but all is in easy walking distance, as is a great hike to Grassy Creek Falls. And access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is literally a one to two minute drive.

Little Switzerland stay
Judith was a wonderful host. Her apartment was located adjacent to her home, with a separate entrance so we came and went as desired. She was very thoughtful in providing her accommodations, which included a large open room, snacks, access to a washer/dryer, and a typed summary of area attractions (which we used to visit several waterfalls !) She even offered to make a dinner reservation at a local restaurant where we enjoyed a first class dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Yum!

Lovely, quiet hilltop getaway within walking distance to little shops, ice cream parlor, cafe, and hiking! Judith and Mike were extremely helpful while still being respectful of our privacy! The suite was clean, well stocked, and very inviting!

I loved the location of the property and the privacy. The grounds were beautiful and there is a very private back deck which was perfect for star-gazing! I even saw a meteor :) The host was a great communicator and I enjoyed my stay so much that I will be back.

We enjoyed our stay at Haus Edelweiss greatly and had a wonderful time in Little Switzerland. The guest house was extremely clean, spacious, and equipped with a full kitchen, a mini frig with many goodies. The queen bed and sofa bed were both very comfortable. We also had access to Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and Disney+ as guest and enjoyed couple of movies during our stay. The guest house is situated high up hill and offers a beautiful view of the the mountain and the surrounding area. The local café, bookstore, general store, the Switzerland Inn, and restaurants are within 5 minutes walking. Walking down hill and you are literally on the Blue Ridge Parkway. A short 10 minutes drive in both directions on the the Blue Ridge offers some amazing overlooks including the historical Apple Orchard at the Altapass. Emeral Village, NC Museum of Mineral, Spruce Pine are all within 15 minutes drive. I have to admit driving up and around Little Switzerland. is quite an experience since the highway is part of the Diamondback. However, I did enjoy a lot driving around the area, in a minivan! So, you don't need a 4x4 in summer time. Overall, we are extremely satisfied and highly recommend this property for all who considers vacationing in the beautiful Little Switzerland.
