Beautiful mountain setting, horse pasture out front. Friendly, helpful staff. Had to figure out why wi-fy wasn't working. Had to bring our own Keurig. Couldn't get to streaming tv. Tiny kitchen, few dishes.

Very peaceful, relaxing, comfortable experience. The only suggestion I have is there to be handrails on steps leading to cabin entrance. Loved it. Hope to return soon!

Loved the horseback riding with Caitlin! It was low season and we had the hiking trails to ourselves. Perfect weather and we never had to leave the property to find outdoor things to do.

This is a great little resort, nestled in the mountains just a few miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. I stayed in a cabin (#122), which was complete with a nice living room, great AC, kitchen, all the amenities you need. There are nice trails around the property and the person I checked in with was very friendly and helpful when it came to which I should do. My only complaint is that the cabin I was in was directly across from a (necessary, I understand) streetlamp and there are no blackout curtains in the room. The last thing I expected when booking a cabin in the woods was a bedroom bathed in light. I jerryrigged a Pendleton blanket I always travel with as a curtain and it was literally night and day. Strongly suggest to the management to add these to the room and it will be perfect.

great getaway spot, beautiful property. Cabins could use some updating but still nice and a great place to relax. Horse trails are great.

We had a wonderful time. The cabins are rustic but have all that you need. Cell service is spotty but if you want to remove those type of distractions, this place is perfect.

We spent only two nights but plan to return. The two bedroom cabin was perfect for our needs and the easy hikes to the falls and overlook provided beautiful views. At checkout, the battery on one of our vehicles was dead and a staff member cheerfully drove up the mountain to give us a boost.

The cabin itself felt like home minus the small amount of little ants. Not complaining because they are to be expected out in the woods. We were very appreciative of how well the cabin was stocked...from the toiletries to the kitchenware. We brought our own because we didn’t know what to expect upon arrival. Used our own just to save the staff some work. Our favorite parts were the front porch rocking chairs and the horses that were pretty much in our front yard. Very beautiful place and highly recommended!!!

Springmaid Mountain is conveniently located and easy to find about a 15-minute drive off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The grounds are beautiful. The cabin was clean and we really enjoyed the large front porch overlooking the pond. What really stood out for me was the service. I accidentally left my backpack in the cabin the day we left. I needed it for work in four days. Ron Sterling called me and we worked out a plan for him and his manager to mail it to me. That was on a Thursday. I received it Saturday evening! Thank you Springmaid Mountain staff. Excellent teamwork and customer service!

There is so many outdoor activities onsite, you will never be bored. Horseback riding, tubing, fishing and hiking. Property is beautiful and the staff was amazing. You will be sent an email after booking from Springmaid to build your itinerary and book activities. Cabins felt secluded, quiet and cozy. Slightly dated, but had everything you need for your stay. The only drawback, was no internet.. which was not much of a problem except when finding directions. The plus was quality, outdoor family time away from electronics. Close to Blue Ridge Parkway, Linville, Banner Elk, Lake James and more. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Wow, what a wonderful place! Skip the hotel chains and drive a few extra minutes. You will not regret it! We stayed in one of the cozy one bedroom cabins. It was fully furnished and has just about everything you need during your stay, including a fully stocked kitchen. The cabin was very clean, well kept and comfortable. The entire property is gorgeous and peaceful. There's forest and wildlife all around. I did not participate in any of the offered activities, but I appreciate that the options were there. I didn't mind that there was no Wi-Fi in the cabin since this was a romantic getaway for us. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a safe, clean and comfortable getaway.

If you are looking for a getaway far from the normal everyday static of life deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains then this place is for you. It is FanTabilous! Many ponds to fish in, rivers, streams, many trails to hike, Guided horseback riding, Rustic cabins with modern appliances, All on a 400 acre Retreat in a gorgeous valley at the Alta Pass. The staff were friendly and helpful. All within 15-20 min. to Spruce Pine and Linville Falls NC.

The cabin shown on the Vrbo site is not necessarily the cabin you are booking. It does not specify that this is a campground with multiple cabins. There was damage to the ceiling, a soft spot in the floor of the bathroom and the mattress had to be 10yrs old and horribly uncomfortable. Would not recommend as a rental

We were just passing through so didn't have much time to spend here, but it was very comfortable and clean. A beautiful property and if we return we would love to stay for a longer time.

We only stayed one night, but the cabin was clean and comfortable. There was
a fireplace in the room which was really nice. The heat was turned on before we
arrived, so the cabin was warm and cozy for us.
Our stay was very enjoyable. I would recommend staying here.
