We booked 4 rooms for 10 people, age 9 to 50y. We appreciated the cleanliness, hospitality, free parking and shutter to and from Sorrento, good mattresses, good room ventilation/air conditioning even in the middle of July, good Wi-Fi. For what the hotel offers, the price was more than fair compared to other options. So, it's a good choice for Sant'Agnello, although quite far from the beach, so you'll have to climb back the streets to the hotel. But the city is close to Sorrento and frankly, if you're there to visit the whole region, you will travel all day long to reach Capri, Positano, Amalfi, Pompeii, Herculaneum and so on, so you'll spend little time at the property.
Many of the sanitary ware in bathrooms should be replaced. Very small balconies. Not much size difference between triple and double rooms, just an extra bed. And do not confuse the nice-looking hallways of the hotel with the interiors of the rooms. Surroundings are silent but you can get plenty of noise from adjacent rooms, depending on neighbors. Breakfast was not great but it was included into the price and it was helpful to have this option, otherwise you have to walk some to reach other restaurants. Do not expect specific Italian food - no chance for mozzarella, olives or prosciutto, nothing special. Taking lunch, available only near the small pool on the terrace, is worse: if you order a pizza, you'll get a microwave fast-heated one. The hotel's restaurant is really up for dinner only, though you can eat better at other local restaurants (like Ristorante Calise).

The pool made all the difference and the gentleman that takes care of the pool does a great job keeping it clean.
It was far from the city center and was not walkable. My son age 21 and in good shape walked there and it took about 40 mins in the hot July sun. Nothing around the property except for a pizza place that was Amazing. Not many menu options in the restaurant. The workout room needs a major update. Everything was old and gross.

Staff were exceptionally good and helpful.. Hotel was grand
Food quality could have been better.

Pool was nice, room & shower were good and clean, staff were friendly
Breakfast could have been better, not 5 star, eggs overcooked and cereal not great.

The hotel was well located, spotlessly clean, friendly and helpful staff. Great pool, and great shuttle bus to Sorrento.
The only small problem was the hairdryer which kept cutting out!

needed more american type breakfast. Well cooked bacon, not raw. Not so many cold cut meats.
the Friday night party with dancers and different food was excellent. :)
Same menu every day for breakfast and dinner. Spa was not updated, staff was nice.

Clean and comfortable. Some of the decor is a little tired but overall we really enjoyed our stay. Giovanni is the star of the hotel and his disco night, DJ skills and dancing all added up to a superb night! All the staff were great and the food in the A la carte restaurant was really good. The shuttle bus into Sorrento was handy and always on time.
Breakfast buffet was adequate. Could be improved if fresh coffee, option of cooked to order (recognising this adds requirements for extra staff and wait).

The staffs were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel arrangement.
7.0
Availability and efficiency of staff at the reception. Global silence. Shuttle to Sorrente. Charm of another century.
Breakfast is very basic and not tasty. Not what you can expect from a five star hotel. The young staff is not very polite and keeps staring at young ladies… Awkward.

Well maintained building with a very grand entrance
Would have been better if the shuttle bus ran more frequently

size of the room was excellent. Clean and comfy shower was excellent nice and powerful. My room was cleaned to a high standard every day. The breakfast was buffet style lots of choice and kept hot.
The staff in all areas of the hotel were so friendly and most helpful nothing was to much trouble.
Having to come home No complaints at all

Beautiful hotel, nice views over the bay to Vesuvius and Naples from the rooftop pool.ground floor room had a large patio to sit out
A couple of common areas need a wee bit tlc

This is a reliable and in the good sense of the word traditional hotel. It had a "grand hotel"-feel to it, and offers very good facilities in the room, very good breakfast and no hidden (negative) surprises. We liked the free shuttle to Sorrento. Staff was professional and friendly. Hotel is not too modern but very well maintained. Good choice for a few nights.
The location is quiet but a bit uninspiring. There is (of course) not really much of a view (but hotels in Sorrento with a view are much pricier). The bathroom didn't have ventilation, maybe out of order? Otherwise, no complaints. Solid performance.

We paid more and had a room with a nice view
More or less everything could have been better. This is a vastly overpriced hotel with an infrastructure of the 1930s, the hydraulics in the room were probably older.... If you thought that a 5* 250 euro per night hotel entitles you to complimentary water, body lotion, tooth brush and paste etc then forget this - this hotels offered nothing! The common areas are ok but the rooms are in very urgent need of refurbishing.

nothing
Small rooms with very old furniture
Beds not comfortable at all, I couldn't sleep most of the time
We booked the family suite room for 2 adults and 2 kids and got one bed room and two sofa beds
the sofa beds were very small and not suitable for the 17 and 14 years boys, one of the sofa beds was broken and my son had difficulties to sleep. we notified the staff but never got proper solution

We all had big rooms with lovely panoramic views, so plenty of space to spread out. Did the rooms need a bit of a refresh? Possibly. However, we were more than happy with them.
Pool area was fine with plenty of sun beds and fresh towels each day and a little pool bar which served plenty of drinks and snacks.
The staff were attentive and keen to please throughout the hotel, so much so, that the maitre d' was also the resident DJ one night joining in the dancing too! Reception staff were always very pleasant and helpful, whether that be for general information or ordering a taxi.
Liked the location away from the centre of Sorrento and on a hill and the hotel bus service into town was very convenient and well used.
Mattress in the room had definitely had it's day and could be far more comfortable with a refresh. Staying B&B the breakfast offering, although adequate, was a little sparse though you could ask for alternatives such as omelette to be cooked if you wanted. The lobby bar was mostly closed and when we went it didn't have any red wine - strange in Italy! The hotel is definitely not 5-star as compared to the more mainstream tourist destinations and could definitely be updated. However, it's ornate, palatial look is actually part of its charm and perhaps it would lose its unique atmosphere if it changed too much.

Nice pool and everything was great. But it is a bit far from the sites centers.
Breakfast was rich and had many options including fresh fruits and fresh yogurt. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is hotels shuttle to Amalfi which was very useful.
A bit far from the shoreline but has excellent views on the hills and ocean and very peaceful

The best thing about this hotel is the staff. They are so nice and caring, always ready to solve any problem, they even anticipate your needs.Especially the two Maitre D' are incredible efficient. The People who serve the tables cannot be nicer and more elegant. The location is great, a few blocks away from Corso Italia. And the swimming pool is an excellent place to relax. Good daily breakfast with so many choices! We will definitely come back!
The decoration is a bit updated. It could use a renovation to be updated to this times.

we came home from Sorrento and ants were everywhere

We were there because my daughter in law had been taken ill on holiday. We needed to book and change our booking at short notice. The hotel was really understanding and helpful.

Dated decor . Bathrooms need refurb.

The foyer
When it flooded and the smell of mould. The elevator didn’t work and after asking for help was told no. Staff were not helpful whatsoever. Had to carry all our luggage down 4 floors. Thankfully we weren’t on the top floor.

The location was central to Sorrento and the shuttle bus to Sorrento was great. The pool area was beautiful and the staff were nice.
Our room was falsely advised as a queen but when we showed up, it was two tiny beds pushed together. The rooms are beyond dated and the old flower bed covers looked like they haven’t been washed in years. Furthermore, the walls had 5 separate splatter marks of what looked like blood. So gross, our teens wanted to leave. They did try to clean it up for us but still no where near a 5 star hotel as they claim.

We liked the hotel, beautiful interior, cozy, quiet room overlooking the pool and the sea. Buffet BBQ is served twice a week at the poolside restaurant. Free bus to Sorrento center and back several times a day.
We didn’t like the location, if you want to go out for a walk, there is nothing around, only a narrow street along which cars drive and there is not even a footpath.
Since there are no shops or restaurants nearby, if you do not want to go to Sorrento, you always have to be on site, but it's ok if you need a quiet holiday.

The communal space was beautiful, and the room was very comfortable with a spacious balcony on the ground floor. There was amazing entertainment one evening with dancers and musicians.
The lack of gluten and dairy free options for breakfast, and the lack of care from the staff. I was given two different options of gluten free products but no labels were on these so I couldn’t ensure that they were also dairy free and fully safe for me. My allergies are incredibly severe so I can’t have any cross contamination with the allergen. Despite explaining my allergies more than twice to the same staff members, and explaining what I needed, they gave me products I could not eat including dairy on my last day which was incredibly disappointing as this meant that I was left with nothing but fruit which I could eat. The warmth and care from the staff members of a 5 star hotel was really lacking unfortunately.
