Lovely location on the river . Our room had a view . Very comfortable .
Driveway a bit tight to get into but not a problem for us .

The location by the River and also the apartment was very quiet (no road noise at all).
All good.

Everything was great as usual, and we will continue to be return customers. This was our 3rd time staying at Shingles and it certainly will not be our last.
We liked everything, as usual.

Beautiful location, great accommodation and facilities! Love the kitchenette and the fridge is fully stocked with extra goodies. The owner Veronica greeted us on arrival and was kind enough to provide extra pillows for my daughter. Her gorgeous photography is also displayed in the accommodation. Paddy's flat is equipped with everything you need & the surrounding property is lovely to take a river stroll in the afternoon or watch the sunrise.
If you require stable internet access, the guest wifi in Paddy's flat isn't the best. Perhaps moving the central router location could resolve this - or it may be a network issue.
I used my 4G data & hotspotted during the stay :)

Staying by the river was perfect. I really enjoyed having my morning coffee and watching the sun rise by the river just outside our door.

very well equipped on arrival for anyone Just getting into town
the only thing I thought was a bit dangerous was the beautiful rug under the coffee table I thought it was a TRIP HAZARD

The room was small but cosy and very clean, with a lovely outlook over the river.
We arrived at 5.30 when it was getting dark but there were no external lights on around the property. We stumbled around in the dark before finding a message and key attached to a door that turned out to be the reception.

More l8ke your own home than a holiday house. Breakfast provisions were a very welcome surprise
Bedroom was a little too cool on these cold nights. Rest of house was very comfortable

Cosy, luxurious and the host went the extra mile with home comforts. Breakfast was included and fresh eggs were provided. Nice outdoor area by the Derwent River.
Very steep driveway and some challenges entering and exiting the property.

Nice breakfast provisions, toast, cereal and milk. Beautiful view of the river with patio space to enjoy it. Too bad I’m not a fisher or I would’ve liked to try fishing there. Nice little TV and DVD selection, framed photographic art in room. Comfy room and clean spacious a bathroom.
Wifi didn’t really work well in our room

Breakfast was great. bed was very comfy and cosy. The owner was very helpful with directions..heater was on for me when I arrived. only one little hiccup and that was the kitchen light which was hard to find ...down the stairs and on the far wall
Would thoroughly recommend this little place and would have loved to have spent more time there sitting by the river.
locally home made raspberry jam would have been the icing on the cake.

Very comfortable cottage which was only a short drive for exploring Mount Field national park and Styx Big Tree Reserve. Very clean with thoughtful touches added, such as milk, cereal, eggs and bread for the first breakfast. Spacious kitchen.

New Norfolk is an interesting town, with easy access to Hobart, the cottages once again was great to stay in,and being right on the water where you even have a jetty that you can sit and enjoy
It was a spur of the moment getaway so it could have been a longer visit, there was nothing that I didn’t like, as it’s just such a relaxing place,

Hospitality. Unexpected breakfast packs and all the basics for cooking available and for showering. Excellent bed linen and comfy large bed. Great showering and quality towels. Outdoor space plus covered area and bbq
The town is not the most attractive but had all basic facilities. Some of the information on eating out were out of date ( places closed )

A little far from town centre

Such a pretty location, right beside the Derwent river. The "Paddys Flat" cottage that I stayed in was modern, well maintained, spacious and well appointed. The bed was comfortable, bathroom in good order and the room had comfy lounge chairs to use for watching the large screen TV. Breakfast (toast, cereal, coffee/tea, real milk) was supplied in room throughout my stay.
Wifi reception in cabin could have been better. WIFI working ok but slow at times. 1500metre walk to town shops.

A very generous breakfast was supplied and facilities were modern and comfortable. It was a peaceful setting.
Didn’t like the internal stairs as I am on crutches and my friend is elderly.

Loved the quietness and that it was so close to the waterfront, such a pretty spot to just relax and sit and enjoy 😉 the scenery and have a vodka 🤩
Only issue I had was with the wi fi in which the only place that I could get it without freezing and not working was on a certain spot on the bed, otherwise loved the stay 😊THANKS
