Building has lots of character (and stories to tell) and the surrounding gardens and other buildings in the complex were fun to explore. The room had a separate bathroom, bedroom and living room so very spacious for a couple. Larger than standard bar fridge was also useful.
No air con though fans are provided.

Nothing - staff were clearly under the influence of substance, not dressed, didnt have shoes on and lead us to believe our rooms were ready in 5 mins, even though they had given them away to people.
If I could give no stars i would.
This establishment is run by Devang, who has employed a male and female. The male "Deano" had no shoes on and behaved VERY erratically, potentially under the influence of substance. He was pacing and speaking incoherently. He explained our rooms weren't ready but would be in a few moments. He took payment and then explained the double room we had reserved/booked and just payed for actually was NOT available. At this point we requested a refund and explained we would go home instead. Deano advised we would need to email Devang. I emailed Devang immediately and he did not respond. I then called 0468 332 166 and was able to speak with him. I explained that I did not received the room I had paid and booked and would like i refund. He advised that his staff had not advised him of me leaving, that he would not be processing the refund and I should not waste his time, and that it was my problem. He then hung up in my face.
I am now left $400 out of pocket, having to chase up complaints through bookings.com and have such concerns that I am also calling local police to advise that they are robbing people through misleading them and not having the goods they have booked and paid for.
RUN do not walk away from this establishment.

Location. 1k walk to town downhill, a trek back home but fun if you’re up for it. Nice art deco decor, quiet and comfortable. Gardens are lovely
Nothing, all was fine.

Comfy beds
The guy we met was friendly and very helpful, said he was available if we needed anything. Room was clean. One roll of toilet paper (not a full roll) for three people. Tried to get in contact with staff for new roll of toilet paper - no one around (lucky I had some in the car)!! Cigarette smoke in the foyer of building so there was obviously someone around!! Staff (male) walked (helped himself - no knocking!!) into our bedroom (with a keycard - not ours) just after youngest Daughter had gotten dressed. No fan in bathroom so floor very slippery from condensation after shower.

It’s pretty, well located, perfectly comfortable and friendly staff. The toiletries etc provided were decent.
Room lighting wasn’t excellent but the lamps made up for it, control panel for room aircon/heating didn’t seem to work BUT there was a separate wall heater which combined with the extra blankets did the job fine.

Excellent refurbishment of this Art-Deco hotel. We had a most comfortable suite with spa bath and it was heated well on this very cold night with an extra portable heater that could be taken into the bathroom.
The breakfast area is a bit cramped.

No wifi available the whole time we were there (3 days)
Despite putting up sign "please make up room" in the morning we would come back early evening to find rooms had not been touched. When complained about it -- nothing was done apart from giving us a couple of clean towels.

Room was spacious and generally in good nick. Deano on the desk was great and helpful. Very quirky accom in former nurses quarters for the nearby asylum. Interesting!
It's a bit far out of town to walk so car or bike is needed. Room was freezing and heaters only got it back to cold.

Checking in was a breeze with friendly and helpful staff at the ground floor. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean, bright and functional. I did not use any other features as it was just a short overnight stay.
Generally everything inside is now getting a bit tired and could do with a freshen up (remodel, paint, carpets, etc.).

Location was great
Room was noisy - just off reception and next to lift - no soundproofing with people coming and going and talking loudly late and early

Nice old what seemed like a hospital building. Lift to 3rd floor.
Very small table for laptop etc.
Whole place a little shaby and worn.

This is an old property. It was quite rundown although some efforts had been made to improve furniture in the room.
we paid extra for a lounge room which was very poky and not well furnished. the TV did not work.
Overall we were quite disappointed with our stay.

We stayed in one of the spa rooms and loved the room. Very clean. Denno, the host was very welcoming and great with providing us with info and history for around the area. We would stay here again.

Service was good, Deano on reception was the one win of the stay
Just about everything
No air conditioning just an old fan
Bed was smaller than expected
Art Deco is a period ie 1920/30's just throwing in old furniture does not make it art deco just old & uncomfortable
Paint your Signage
Fix your Balcony leaks
Clear the dead Hunstman spider that sat on the desk in reception the 3 days I was there

Our stay was comfortable, the hotel was quiet and less than 15 mins walk from the Main Street. The walk was nice but could also travel via taxi when we needed it.

Clean, quiet property. A little out of the ordinary (which made it better)
nothing

The quirkiness of it, Deano is a quirky and nice fellow.
it did not look anything like this picture! we booked a deluxe queen room I’m quite sure that’s not what we got, we slept very poorly in a double bed for 2 nights.
There was a loud argument between a couple with a lot of swearing that you could not not hear.

Nice room with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was nice and toiletries were complementary as well. Very nice for a one night stay in Beechworth, you could easily walk into town if you want.
The wifi didn't work.
It was quite expensive but this was to be expected as the booking was over a long weekend.
7.0 / 10.0
Old hotel but very comfortable beds, clean and tidy.
Pretend milk, cheap coffee packs, tiny tiny cups, not all windows open. Loved the rope for handles on blinds
