Perfect, character-filled property in historic Battery Point

The property was so beautifully decorated with vintage items and pine wood everywhere. It was located in historic Battery Point next to the most charming cafes and restaurants, and a stone’s throw away from the main hub of Hobart which is Salamanca. We loved the beds, the bed linen and the electric blankets! The house was well heated too.

Lovely old world charm, and location . Very comfortable, will all facilities . Shared laundry with new machines.

Creaking floors noisy for downstairs guests. Upstairs is two bedroom unit . Parking on street difficult.

overall it was an enjoyable experience

location, tasteful decoration, historic charm, it was warm and cozy

access to shower over bath a bit awkward without any handrail, limited bench space. an annoying electrical hum near the bed (couldn’t pinpoint where it came from)

Charming Cottage

A beautiful place, close to cbd Battery Point is a lovely location. Lots of great restaurants and shops, Monsoon fusion is sensational

Parking is a issue in the area, we didn't use the hire car for two days as we were not Guaranteed a Parking space, could not park streets away as mobity was a issue

beautiful period decor and very cosy. Incredible location and a very welcome car space. Great host, super helpful.

For those hoping to cook at home, a larger pot would be handy for cooking pasta.

Very close proximity to cafes and restaurants, easy walk to Salamanca. Spacious and comfortable accommodation.

Garbage bins and air conditioner unit adjacent to front door of property (aesthetic impact only -no smells or noises). Parking difficult -only 2 hour available and not much available.

A perfect place to stay to enjoy Hobart!

It was very spacious and charming and convenient and wonderfully located. There were plenty of good restaurants close by and we could walk to all areas of Battery Point, Salamanca, Hobart .harbour and beyond . . . and even to Sandy Bay in the other direction!

Grand but so comfortable

The Grand Old Duke is really grand. Beautiful rooms, well furnished with period pieces, and located perfectly in Battery Point. The 2 bedroom apartment was very spacious and comfortable. Be warned that there are stairs. And the G.O.D. even has a guest laundry - perfect as we had been hiking for a few days! Local cafes and restaurants and a few minutes walk to Salamanca. Loved the Thai restaurant across the road! Very helpful host too.

charming and excellent location

We stayed in the Cambridge apartment with two young kids for two nights. The apartment is very charming, has an old world feel and everything you could need for a short stay. There is even a communal laundry which is handy when travelling with kids. Located in the heart of beautiful Battery Point and walking distance to Salamanca Place and the wharf, close to many eateries it’s a perfect spot to explore Hobart.
