Aalen Beach House is located on the seafront at Kingscote, the heart of Kangaroo Island
Situated 1.6 km from the town centre and directly on the foreshore of Nepean Bay. The house is modern and has large living areas , with the front deck stretching the width of the house overlooking the sea . The beach is just a few steps away. The house has 3 queen bedrooms to accomodate up to 6 adults and a bunk room for 4 kids. There are 2 separate lounge areas, both with flat screen TVs, to ensure there is ample space for everyone to relax in. The kitchen is fitted out with modern appliances and faces the open plan dining and living area leading out to the front deck.
There are two bathrooms with walk in showers, plus a separate bath in the main bathroom and a fully equipped laundry in the second. There are 2 seperate toilets.
A large spacious family friendly house where you can enjoy magnificent views over water sunrises, relaxing strolls on the long beach, swim in the safe waters of Nepean Bay and soak up the natural fauna and flora .
Aalen Beach House is a perfect central location to visit any area of the island. Kingscote, the main commercial centre of Kangaroo Island, is in easy walking distance via the paved walkway passing the front, and the Airport is only 10 minutes away.

Very impressive house with full frontage onto the ocean, heaps of room and very clean. We had to book in a day early and leave a day late because of ferry cancellation's and the hosts were very accommodating which was a great help.

We stayed at Aalen Beach House for 7 nights.
Aalen had everything we needed, including garage parking for our vehicle and our bicycles.
The views across Nepean Bay are lovely and we enjoyed being on the edge of Kingscote in a peaceful location.
The shared path (bitumen sealed) in front of Aalen follows the shoreline and is a real highlight of the location. The path also provides safe easy access by bicycle to Kingscote (4 Km return).
Kangaroo Island and Kingscote:
We travelled in May, which is out of peak season, so we didn't encounter much traffic on our travels.
Kingscote is a good base for longer stays on KI.
Some locations on KI only have access by unsealed roads, we found most of those to be in superb condition allowing safe driving with our SUV.
Kingscote is the largest town on KI. The pubs and cafes are good.
The local supermarket has everything you would expect and priced are basically the same as on the mainland.
Fuel prices on KI are up to 20% higher than the mainland.

The house is in a good location, right on the beach and short drive to Kingscote. Very central location. Would definitely recommend this place to others, and would stay here again ourselves! We arrived on a 42C degree day, and were thankful that the air conditioner had been switched on to cool the main living rooms. Luckily it cooled overnight and bedrooms were comfortable with overhead fans. Deck overlooking the water was lovely to spot pelicans and sea birds. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking at home. Small Weber Q BBQ was good for us 4. Communication was excellent with thd thoughtful owners.

We loved our stay at Aalen Beach House. The property is extremely well located with superb beach views and a lovely balcony. We had a lovely time looking out for birds and other activity on the beach, and wandering along the beach exploring.

Big house for two! Very easy check in process and upon entry the view of the ocean is just spectacular! Bed was comfy and all you need for cooking is in the kitchen.
Thank god for working WiFi which did work perfectly for us especially my partner still working on the trip. Only weird thing that didn’t work was en-suite shower with hot water.. no matter how long you let water run no hot water but other shower was fine! Plus we didn’t want to waste water so just used other.

The five of us loved everything about it including location, facilities, spaciousness and the Smart TV. The kitchen was very well equipped and the outdoor balcony area just perfect. Our stay at Aalen was beyond our expectations. The house itself is well laid out and beautifully appointed. The bedrooms were all of good size and beds very comfortable. The views from the kitchen and living area out to the beach were amazing and a large outdoor table on the front deck made it so easy to relax.
Jen and Paul were terrific hosts, easy to communicate with and quick to respond when we had a question.
We would highly recommend this property and are certainly intending to return in the future.
