My partner and I both booked rooms in dorms so our expectations weren't high, however even for dorms these were terrible.
I saw dead cockroaches on the floor when I walked in and while on the bed had one run on my legs and another onto my pillow and touch my ear. They advertised it as a 4 bed mixed dorm but a second 4 bed mixed dorm went through the room, so it was basically an 8 bed dorm.
All 8 people shared a bathroom which because it was next to my bed with holes in the walls meant I was woken up by the flushing toilet and had the stinging stench of faeces through the night waft straight into my face when people used the bathroom at all hours of the bathroom.
My partner's experience was somehow worse - she booked an all female dorm as she doesn't like sharing rooms with other guys. Despite booking a single bed was forced to share a bed with another girl, who then started touching her through the night with her hands, putting her leg on her side of the bed and snoring right into her ear.
I went down with her to raise the issue with staff but as they run a bar and apparently drink on the job they didn't seem to care one of them actually trying to joke about it and saying 'well at least someone around here is going to get some action tonight'. We insisted on changing rooms and they said she can come onto the bed above me. Despite her having paid more to be in an all female dorm and knowing all of the issues above it was 3am and there was no other options, so she came into the cockroach infested room in a bed next to the toilet and we got out of there as soon as the sun rose.
This is hands down the worst place I've ever stayed. My partner and I are full time travelers and have been to plenty of backpackers hostels around the world, so are generally pretty easy going for hostels, but this place is hands down the worst.
I booked in a 4 bed dorm which was merged with another 4 bed dorm. The only bunk bed left was next to the toilet which has holes in the walls so was woken up all through the night to the foul stench of human faeces and flushing toilets.
Cockroaches all through the room (including 2 which went onto the bed - one of those on my pillow).
My partner booked a single bed in an all female dorm and was told the only bed left was shared with another girl, who during the night started rubbing her arm, then later when she fell asleep snoring into her ear and kicking her and putting her leg over her side of the bed so she had no room to sleep (picture below).
I went down with her to complain and the staff were drunk, one of them making extremely inappropriate and sexual jokes. Eventually got her moved into my room (which was a cheaper room/downgrade). Despite knowing there was a terrible odour and cockroaches in the room she felt that unsafe sharing the bed with that stranger that she came into my dorm. If it wasn't 3am and no other places open we would have gone somewhere else.
Complained to staff later and they basically said what do you expect from a dorm and felt they had solved the issue by downgrading her to the cockroach infested room with odour issues.

Great value
View from the room
No ventilation in case of warm days, only a big window that might let mosquitoes in.

Everything was beyond expectation.
Really had a great time.
Thank you.
I liked actually everything.
May be just having lockers in the room would be a plus because then you don’t have to worry about luggage.

Location
Was supposed to be in a 10 bed form but was in a 12 person. No lockers to secure your stuff so had to take important things with us everyday. Bathroom was disgusting and full of mould and the walls breaking - very run down. Pillows weren’t proper pillows. Laundry room not good

One of our favorite hostels we’ve stayed in for our month long euro trip. Our room had the most incredible views!! The space was comfortable and had a balcony. Loved Kya the dog, she made it so memorable!
Loved it all!

Free parking with many available spots, nice garden with views of the mountains and plenty of seating, friendly staff, very short walk to coop (grocery store), and the building/architecture has charm.
The doors to the hostel rooms close VERY loudly. It sounds as if someone is very angry and is going around slamming doors throughout the hallway. A problem at night and early morning when the sound of slamming doors affect your sleep. My bunk bed literally shook when people shut doors from other rooms on our floor. If fixing the doors is not an option, staff may want to put signs on the doors as a reminder to close the door gently after 9 pm and before 8 am.
It looks like the property was really nice back in the day, but has been let go over the years. It also used to have a large pool and other amenities.

The Bernard (dog) and Pool Hall were one of our favorite parts of the trip. The bartender was especially kind and very nice. Very pleasant stay and would 100% come back.

View from the rooms and location.
That is it.
Nothing else.
Receptionist at night was least helpful, he only wanted to keep his tasks simple and kept away from helping customers with any queries they had. Not at all helpful and rude. The receptionist in the morning was way more helpful. The rooms did not have lockers, charging points, the lighting of the room was extremely dim. The corridor lights didn't work. Had to use mobile torches to find way in the dark. Pathetic condition of the washrooms where the sinks were clogged and overflowing. Very bad hostel.

The staffs are very friendly and supportive. They have bar and restaurant inside.
The hostel is quite old and not quiet during the night due to the noise from the street. And the beds are also very noisy when you turn over.

The location is easy to reach, because it's 1.3 km from Interlaken West Station and near by bus station.
The room is bigger than my expectation. Everything is clean. There is sofa, table, heater, wardrobe cabinet, heater, safe-deposit box, bathup, shower, and balcony. I really enjoy with the stay. And the best part is, we got the 'Guest Card Special Offers and Deals' from the receptionist for FREE.
The old style building and furniture some times makes the creepy atmosphere. Moreover, the corridor's lighting should be more claer.
