I thought it was a very relaxed clean welcoming space. Were you can chill 😎 and cook watch to mix.
As a single woman on my own I felt security was very good door code is changed very frequently.
The main thing I didn’t like was lack of heat in the pm. I had a cold to start and am asthmatic so I need to be in a certain temperature.
I had to ring a member of staff as heating didn’t go on. Then heating in the bedrooms and the lounge didn’t come on till 9 pm. Now I’m quite ill with my chest.

The location was nice, it wasn't a super far walk from the bus stations/town, and it was a quiet area. The room was a nice size for the number of beds, although it might feel pretty crowded when full (room for 12, but only 2 full for the night I was there). There were also sinks in the room, hangers on the ends of the beds, and storage lockers for your stuff (need your own lock. There were also a lot of common spaces and kitchen areas
I wish there were outlets in the room for each bed--there were only a couple near the door which would not be ideal with a full room. There also weren't lockers that could actually lock for every bed. The bottom bunks just had drawers that slid under the bed.

Having stayed there before I knew what to expect. Good parking cheapish and cheerfulish. Staff reasonable
The ongoing problem of sleeping in rooms with others and getting a "snorer" I dud NOT get any sleep the whole of the night ruining my full weekend as tired all the time. No single rooms available for second night so moved on.
5.0
Good parking.
Unable to access my alotted room with keycode I was given AND Being woke up at 7am with fire alarm after a guest was unable to operate the toaster filling the kitchen and hallway with smoke. How hard is it to make toast. However this was NOT the fault of Denton House or management.

Other 'guests' were staff of a school where students were out doing DofE. They were very pleasant.
Given full bunk room with strangers, but wife only one in her room so able to go in there.
No staff at all, just an envelope on the pin board even though we arrived at 4.30pm and left at 10am.
Very scattered rooms, kitchens, washing up area, lounge etc
More like camping

The check in process was really smooth.
The room was too warm in summer

Really easy checkin, large clean rooms

The facilities that were available!
Location.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Dorm rooms were as expected and what you need for an overnight stay.
Only about how busy the carpark is. It's big but, still had cars parking outside the gates. Not a criticism, just proves how an ideal location this is for a lot of walkers, scramblers etc.

No phone chargers next to beds

Everywhere is spotless! The facililities are awesome including a drying room where the much needed drying of my tent happened speedily. I really enjoyed my stay!
The location of the hostel is quite far out of town but everything else is lovely. Owners are lovely also.

Close to Keswick.
After a ten day trip around the Peak District, Yorkshire Dales and Lake District this was the most expensive hostel I stayed in but had the worst facilities. It's old and run down, has a weird smell, there's no cooker in the kitchen and the showers were terrible. Had I paid 10 or 12 pounds for the dorm bed it would have been passable at best, still seriously lacking compared to a 15 pound dorm in a YHA but paying 40 pounds for this was outrageous. My advice would be to give this one a miss.

Location excellent. Cheap as chips for Keswick. Plenty of free parking.
No cooker in the self-catering kitchen!!!!!!!!!

Central to Keswick, clean and tidy, kitchen facilities, BBQ and majority of things needed were available.
Might have made more sense being £30 just for a bed and use of facilities. £200 for 5 in a dorm for 1 night is a bit on the high side when stood up again what else is available.

It said it was a girls' dormitory, but I went to it and found that it was a co-ed dormitory and there was no refund. I felt cheated

I've been a regular guest here for several years, but there have been a lot of changes since I last stayed 6 months ago - and not for the better. A price increase of over 20% within 6 months. Staff not available during the stated hours. One of our party had their bunk double-booked. Website says 24 hours notice needed for breakfast, but when we tried to book we were told they need a full week's notice(!). The tuck shop with honesty box has gone, the hob in the kitchen has gone, and a number of other changes for the worst. It's a shame as it used to be a great little hostel and great value, but I don't know if I'll be booking again.

Handy location. Beds cosy. Kitchen supplies and fridge space.
Hygiene issues with facilities. Toilets didn't flush properly, with a sign asking not to flush toilet paper, however the bin was not sealed/didn't have a lid. Rooms cleaned after the large party we were sharing with left, however toilet paper not replaced (for 2+ days).
The showers were not secure, just a room off the hall with an multiple old shower curtains reminiscent of school gym showers.
Facilities in need of an update including the map of the hostel, as we couldn't find out where we were staying and the instructions were unclear about what beds were ours.
Happy to stay in cheap and cheerful hostels and all would have been fine, however there was lack of consideration when assigning bookings to rooms. We (2 young women) were put in the Annex with a large group who had come together and truly made it their own, including setting off the truly incredibly loud fire alarm at 6.30am by vaping the Annex smokey and blasting music after this time as they were all awake. They also claimed my charger and put my phone in the bin (accidentally but if not for my noticing I don't know how long that would have lasted without being destroyed by something being put into the bin). No issue with groups in hostels, but would recommend they ensure not to book individual groups in with a very large party again.
As a side note, would also be nice if they supplied milk to complement their kindly free tea and coffee. Also all stickers for labelling food were gone.

Free tea and coffee with sugar (needed after long walk). Good drying room
Good sized lockers in room (but only 2 in room with 4 bunks. Fortunately arrived early enough to grab one. Could put a couple of lockable boxes under the 2 bottom bunks...)
Comfy TV room tho no remote
Shower/toilet was out of order; main male showers downstairs were cold only. Eventually found room with 2 electric showers so was able to get a decent shower).
TV room would be better if an extension cable/stand connected to wall socket so could easily connect a charger to charge phone when watching TV (didn't want to leave in room).
2 other people staying in my room were given wrong entry code including one of them arriving at 1am who had to bang on door . Fortunately comfy bed/I was tired so fell asleep quickly again.

Good environment. Good price. Very clean.
The lock of my room wasn't work. There was not enough locker in my sharing room.

I had a positive experience at the venue, largely due to the amiable staff who provided excellent customer service. I appreciated their friendly attitude, which made me feel welcome and comfortable. Additionally, the availability of free parking was a significant advantage, making the entire experience more convenient and hassle-free.
My recent stay at the hostel left me feeling disappointed. While the location was convenient, the price of £40 per night for an eight bed dormitory was too steep for the amenities provided. I was disappointed to find that there were no plugs in my room, which made it difficult to charge my devices. Moreover, the room itself was uncomfortably cold, and the showers were not up to standard in terms of cleanliness. To make matters worse, there was no breakfast included in the price, which further reduced the value for money. Overall, I cannot recommend this hostel based on my experience.

They were very dog friendly and really good about giving us a bigger and more out of the way so it was quieter
All of the water was very hot!
Parking was easy and off the road
There was no hob or oven to cook anything, luckily we had camp stoves we used. For how many people stayed the small kitchenette didn't have enough room for them all or fridge room
The ladies showers downstairs, out of two only one was working. The men's seemed to have 4 working showers is contrast.
The drying room was good, but again just a little small for how many people were staying.
The toilets all had good flushes but they were tiny for a sized 12 person let alone anyone bigger and there was nothing to dry your hands on.
Despite having central heating, it didn't seem to be turned on.
