I feel like most other reviews adequately covered what this property is like. The owner is easy to communicate with and check in was easy. As others have explained, this is an old cottage, and people looking for a modern or updated place should look elsewhere. We were overall happy with the location, the amenities, and the view from the waterfront is wonderful. I wish there was more of a water view from the house, and the proximity of neighbors was a negative for us, but overall our family had a great time and we were happy with our week at this cottage.

We had a wonderful time at Ledgelawn. Right on the bay, use of the canoe and close to many great beaches and towns. We hope to come back again soon!

Property is beautiful. Dwelling aged but charming. Few is gorgeous from lower lawn.

We had a lovely week. Simple and charming with a well appointed kitchen. Jon and Nina met us upon arrival and helped us in, even finding me an outlet to charge the vehicle. If only the cottage were closer to Trish’s Pies in Phippsburg (they’re still worth a 20 minute drive)

We loved the location of this house, and the owner was quick to come by every time we had a problem. The house is a nice size, three bedrooms, large living room with a TV, kitchen adequate with a nice kitchen table that seats 8. Beautiful water views and a great dock. Unfortunately there was a problem most days. The house was dirty when we arrived. The vacuum cleaner wasn't working and the floor was filthy. There were dust bunnies everywhere. After a few days the owner brought over a chargeable vacuum and we were finally able to clean the floors. It rained the first few days and the roof leaked. The kitchen had ants. There was a bird in our bedroom one night. The walls are very thin and the floor is creaky, so you can hear anyone moving around the house. There was a broken window, my husband needed to fix a sink and a toilet, there was a large crack in the bathroom window, the small deck had some broken furniture, the couch is beyond deep, there could be more lighting (bedrooms just have lamps), the master bathroom doesn't have an outlet, and after working on the shower we had a few cockroaches in the kitchen. The stairs are steep with small treads. There was one air conditioning unit in the master bedroom window, the rest of the house has fans.

When real Mainers owned the waterfront camps most of them resembled this rental. Exposed beams and rafters, dated furniture, lots of games, books and puzzles and full of unique quirks. This property was an absolute joy to stay at because it is centrally located to all things coastal. However if you are looking for an updated well refined cottage this is not your place. My family enjoyed our stay and Jon and Nina are wonderful hosts. Absolutely love the fact that they are dog lovers and allow renters to bring their furry family on vacation. The neighborhood is very quiet and is adjacent to some great hiking. There is so much to do within a 30min drive or you can fish for stripers right out on the river. WiFi worked great for getting a little office work complete. Camp has the coldest water around and it tastes very good! We did bring an extra window AC since there is only one split between the three upstairs bedrooms; however there are tons of fans! The grill worked great and we had no problems during our stay. Would recommend for any family that really wants to get the old fashioned Maine camp experience in a working shipbuilding community.

This quaint Maine cottage was a wonderful family getaway for our family of 7. Jon and Nina met me at checkin to show me around their cottage. The sunset views were amazing. The children were excited to see a bald eagle multiple times during our stay as well as an egret who visited often. At low tide the kids (6 and 10) had a great time exploring “sheisland”. (Shell island). Had a fun with shells and hermit crabs. The best experience was taking the canoes, which were made available to us by the owners, and let the kids experience a new adventure.
While the house is a cottage, everything we needed was there. Perfect for a multi generational family vacation. Thank you Jon and Nina.

This property delivers a true Maine experience, in rustic campy cottage style. The location is one of the prettiest spots showcasing nature in a saltwater environment. Big plus, it’s also close to everything! We can’t wait to return to this property. Thank you to the owners.

Jon is a wonderful host. He met us at the house, showed us around and offered suggestions about the surrounding area. The house is rustic but well equipped. We would rent from Jon again!

Great location, wonderfully responsive hosts
This is a fabulous location, and the hosts were exceptionally communicative, helpful, and responsive. For example, we were the first guests (I think) for the summer, so the outdoor grill had not been used since Fall and wasn't working properly -- Jon promptly replaced it with a brand new grill.
The location is a birders and outdoor enthusiasts dream -- we spent hours watching osprey, herons, and even a bald eagle on the pier and in the trees around the cottage. We saw deer, river otters, and more -- simply magical. The Audubon sanctuary is a 5 min walk away, and we visited and hiked those beautiful trails often. Every evening, we watched the gorgeous sunsets over the river from the dock.
The cottage itself is rather old, as is most of the furniture -- some of it delightfully so, some merely a bit worn. However, the kitchen was well stocked, and the provided linens were high quality and quite nice. The owners are exceptionally pet-friendly, which was a big plus for us.
Overall, this was a great vacation for us, with wonderful hosts, in a cottage that is a bit older than we might usually rent, but in a magical location.

Trip 8/28-9/4/2021.
Communication with the owner was top notch. All questions were answered (almost immediately) and he greeted us at the cabin to personally show us around, which was a great touch.
As far as the cabin goes, it is quite old. It is also somewhat dark as there are no overhead lights. The furniture and rugs definitely have seen better days. The bed in the Master bedroom is not overly comfortable, but certainly I have slept on worse. Kitchen is very well stocked with everything you might need. All appliances work properly. Back deck is very small and there is no clear view of the water (however the owner told me that trees are being cut this fall, so this might change). Waterfront area (down a steep hill) is very pleasant and it's where we spent most of our time. Owner does have another small cabin down there as well, so it is not private. Nice dock area, except for the fact the owner's boat is docked at the end of it. We would have been able to swim and have more area to fish if not for the boat. The cabin was close to every place we wanted to visit in the area.
Overall, I would recommend for a family who will have their furry friends with them and is OK with a more rustic experience.

The owner is very communicative and welcoming. The cottage is charming and rustically vintage. The description does need some work as there is no mention of the fact that there is another cottage in front of you and all shoreline areas are in fact shared. The view of the water is farther away than expected. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

The cottage was very rustic. I loved being on the river and so close to town. It was great to have our dog along with us as well. Getting down to the water is tricky with such a steep hill but beautiful once you get down there. We had some plumbing and internet issues for a few days but Jon was very responsive and kind, resolving anything that came up. It was great to be home in Maine

Sunsets over New Meadows Bay
We spent a week at this delightful place. Rustic but comfortable and a perfect base from which to explore the area. Close to Portland or Boothbay Harbor. I would definitely stay there again. Jon was a great host full of knowledge about the area and quick to respond to any questions. The sunsets were wonderful and the nights quiet. A true Maine adventure!

Maine Bucket List
Maine gas been on my bucket list fir a long time and we were very fortunate to find thus property in West Bath. The cabin was perfect and right by the water where we could watch the sun set. Jon and his wife met us when we arrived and made us feel very welcomed. We were very glad to be in a quiet secluded place but just minutes from shopping and excellent restaurants. I highly recommend this property. If we can make it back up to Maine again I will definitely want to stay here.

Our stay was fun and relaxing and the area quite peaceful, excellent for kayacking - Jon the owner was very accommodating - However the property is not on the ocean as indicated by "oceanfront cottage" but on the river which is very different. The access by land and dock was very good but the driveway was extremely steep to walk up and down with bad hips! One bedroom upstairs had the bathroom in it leaving little privacy for those who used that room, but it was nice having a bathroom at night near the bedrooms. wifi coverage was very good and those we met in the neighborhood were very friendly

There was plenty of room for all four of us plus two large Goldens. The owners were super pet friendly. Very quiet getaway for relaxing with beautiful views but the property is close enough to all the essentials you need and want. The property was very well stocked with supplies. Thank you for a great summer getaway.
