The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The smell, the condition of our room , especially the bathroom was in need of repair. Considering we were told our room was an upgrade from the standard room was a concern.
4.1
Lovely secluded location, with great views of the Northern Lights.
The pool is wonderful and the food is amazing. Highly recommend!

מלון נקי מאוד. מעוצב. חדשני. חדרים נעימים אך לא גדולים

La literie ms la couette était trop petite…
Le sauna était en panne, le coffre fort ds la chambre n’allait pas non plus…

Excellent location great facilities and staff were brilliant

Complete luxury. Sauna and pool are incredible, attention to detail is impeccable. Location is incomparable, we even got a beautiful snowfall! Do yourself a favor and visit the bartender for a Fury of Iceland and food recommendations for Reykjavik, you won't be disappointed!

Although we did not get to see the Northern Lights (which is why I booked this hotel), we very much enjoyed our stay! The scenery on the drive to the hotel is spectacular (if not a little scary if you're in wind/rain/snow), and the hotel is very, very cool! We enjoyed getting into the warm geothermal pool and sitting in the Northern Lights lounge after dinner. The food is fantastic and the staff was more hospitable than anywhere else we had experienced on our 10-day trip.

We were looking forward to our stay at ION and it far exceeded our expectations. Location is remote and beautiful, the rooms are very comfortable, the restaurant was great and appreciated small touches like the welcome drink. But the highlight was when we got the midnight wake up call to go and see the Northern Lights - we could see them even from our room window! Truly spectacular.

Rooms very comfortable. Food was excellent
The photos of the property do not show that everyone on the west facing rooms see the power plant down the valley.

It was the nicest hotel we stayed in and very unique. I was impressed with the breakfast buffet and its was a good value.
The cost of our dessert at all most 30$ was lacking in substance. In the US your 10-15 dollar piece of cake is big enough to feed an entire family.

lovely staff, very good restaurant and extraordinary location. very well equipped and nice hot pool.
it was quite expensive

Nice remote location
Nice plunge pool outside
Splendid road alongside lake to arrive to the hotel
Superb bar with stunning view
Rooms a bit noisy. Could here other rooms flushing.
Bathroom small but functional
4.1
Stunning location in the national park with fantastic views out of the hotel. Bedrooms are super stylish and mine had a great view as well. The thermal pool was amazing and ideal to relax in after a busy day of activities. Hotel is very close to hiking trails and the staff were welcoming and happy to help with any questions.
Having read some of the reviews on here before the stay i was slightly concerned as to how it would be but it honestly exceeded my expectations hugely both on the quality of the accommodation and also the setting.
The restaurant was nice but didn't match up to the standard of the rest of the hotel (and was a bit overpriced)

Beautiful modern spot in the middle of nowhere. The architecture was impressive, especially the bar/library. Stunning views. Thermal pool was relaxing. Loved that the staff called us to see the Northern Lights on our last night. Breakfast had a lot of options. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Rooms are tight for two people. Construction and fire alarm testing were a bit intrusive to our stay.
ION Adventure really is in the middle of nowhere so it's a (beautiful) drive to sightseeing options and any restaurants.

The location was beautiful. Just the drive to get to the hotel from the airport is filled with breathtaking views.
The room we had was gorgeous and filled with so many modern amenities. We loved turning all of the light off from a switch next to the bed.
Hands down the best part of the hotel was getting to sit in their geothermal pool. It's located outside underneath the overhang and was just the most relaxing thing to do. We spent a lot of time there, especially when it was snowing.
The Northern Lights Bar was also a lovely place to just sit around while drinking and taking in the views.
The staff are so friendly and more than willing to accommodate any need you may have.

Isolated location with great facilities (geothermal pool and sauna looking out to the hills). The staff were accommodating with transferring us to their hotel in Reykjavik. Not only that, the hotel in Reykjavik messaged us on WhatsApp if there was an early check in available (which there was). They went above and beyond with our situation. If you are travelling in winter, make sure you have logistics organised or know how to drive in their tough conditions.
Hard to get in and out of in winter. Road can be closed due to snow, need to go with it. We could have definitely researched more on the winter road conditions in Iceland but that is part of the adventure.

Lovely hotel and the location is amazing. We loved the spa pool under the hotel and the Northern Lights bar. We were lucky to get the wakeup call for the Northern Lights and drove our hire car a little into the national park to get some photos. Overall a great stay!
The room was a little small compared to other properties we'd stayed in in Iceland around that price. We had a nice dinner but the staff forgot one of our items (a melted cheese dish) which my husband had been looking forward to.

pool and bar were amazing. staff was very friendly and attentive. area is great for seeing the northern lights.

Remote, in a valley filled with steam holes and thermal streams - amazing in winter.
Superb cooking, and the outside thermal pool has wonderful views.
An excellent range of walks from outside the hotel up into the hills and mountains - beautiful.
We missed the Northern Lights due to cloud! Clearly NOT the hotel's fault - the sunrise and sunset were both stunning.

I loved the location. if you really want to get away from it all this is the place to go. it’s about an hour out of Reykjavík. obviously you can do tours etc but I also just went walking one day down to the frozen lake (about 5k away), and literally passed no one.
perhaps there could be a better place for viewing northern lights? I realise you don’t always know when or where they will show up, but it was not necessarily the best being out back of the hotel. maybe an outdoor viewing platform or something similar could be constructed?

Fair.
The staff were unhelpful and generally surly. Specially on the front desk. The room was very small, and over looking a geothermal factory: the thermal pool was very pleasant, but did not make up for the other issues.
4.1
The staff is very friendly! You will definitely love the vibes there when you stepped in the hotel. View from the room was great. The northern light wake up call service is fantastic! Thanks to the team so that we able to see the spectacular moment during our stay here!

Location was stunning , food and service was very good. Absolutely loved the Bar and Spa areas .
4.1
beautiful hotel with nice facilities (small pool outside and sauna), nice restaurant. warm comfortable rooms
Very expensive and very small portions in restaurant. it is meant to be a luxury hotel and it is indeed comfortable but it is way overpriced compared to other equally nice hotels.
it is situated in the middle of nowhere and when the roads get snowy and icy it takes strong nerves and a jeep to get there safely
4.1
The hotel is stunning. Rooms amazing. Staff is wonderful. bar and set up was so great.
Breakfast was good but forgettable. Dinner was well prepared and tasted great but not very imaginative menu. With all of the lamb and fish and unusual animals and herbs around, you did not include any on the menu.
4.1
the architecture, the helpful staff and the lounge! cute slippers in the room , welcoming drinks..
