Food was repetitive but good
As a person travelled 27 countries and earlier worked at hotel business for 3 years, there was a lot of mismanagement in this otherwise piece of heaven.
Firstly they do not work with booking.com they have their own agency called Carlos Expeditions and unless you book with them, you slip through the net and you have to chase people (guides) to learn about the daily excursions/plans.
That being said, there is no reception/front desk; no-one to address any issues/complaints or ask any questions. There is only Fabrizio as the manager but considering the size of the organisation, one person in charge is ridiculous.
The rooms and the dining area are so dirty, you will see dead bugs, cigarette butts and although the shoes are not allowed in the dining area just by walking to your table and back you will have a brown sole of your white socks.
Booking.com states there is WIFI which there isn't, there is hint of WIFI by the dining room which only a lucky few are able to connect to.
Booking.com states there is laundry, where there isn't and knowing that could be quite useful coming to this establishment right after Inka Trail. And asking for a bucket to self-wash your clothes which never arrives.
Coming to the rooms, same as the dining room there are gaps in the nets, in the actual wood pieces of the cabins, in between the door and the floor (even on the mosquito net) which defies the logic of having 4 walls to avoid insects.
There are supposed to be functional USB charging stations in the room which of course do not work and your only chance of getting any juice to any electronical item is one of the 3 outlets in the dining room by the pool table if they are not already taken.
Because you are not with a package, you will randomly be assigned to sit with a group every meal, a guessing game.

Great location, wonderful guides
Activities are a bit pricey and we ran out of things to do on the third day. If you want to do all the activities better to book through their website directly.

Friendly staff, beautifully designed facility with refreshing pool, many activities possible, comfortable bed with mosquito net, enjoyable meals also for vegetarians
No hot shower but cold showers are very refreshing in the hot jungle

The location from PM is convenient. The grounds are quite yet very little to do during downtime.
The excursion was subpar at best…. monkey island was fun. Lake Sandoval was very underwhelming….5hrs in a paddle boat with a guide pointing to birds. This could have been accomplished in 2 hrs.

I was a little scared the tours would be really expensive and I wouldn’t have any alternative but to pay once I got there. But it was alright. Not cheap but alright. We had a good guide and the food there was good too. I’d recommend a buffet though because a lot of food was going back to the kitchen while some (few) others didn’t get enough food.
i liked the Billard table in the common room.
I recommend a stay for 3 or 4 days, depending if you want to relax also.

We were very enjoying our stay in the lodge. The staff was helpful , they offer the variety of excursions. We were picked up from the airport and taken on the boat to the lodge . The wifi was very poor but this is what we wanted to disconnect for a while. We spent every morning on the hammock on the terrace , I will really miss this. The food was good.

Relaxing spot - we enjoyed the pool while we waited for excursions. Not really the type of place you can go without buying their excursion packages - we opted for the 3d/2n excursion package in the end, which brought our bill to $399 for two people including all meals, the stay at the lodge and the activities. We settled that at the office after our airport pickup (paid by card with a percentage markup for doing so). We especially enjoyed the day trip to Sandoval Lake - they leave really early (4:30 I think) and that allows you to get onto the lake before most and right when the animals are active and the light is at its prettiest. The food was enough, nothing exceptional but we were happy with it. We enjoyed the group we were placed with as well (you basically are assigned a table with others who are on your same activity schedule). The cabins are big, with basic furnishings. Expect bugs and dirt but nothing off-putting. There were chickens who roamed around underneath the cabins as well. The grounds are pleasant - you get a picture of them on the zipline or canopy tour. Electricity only for four hours - charge anything you need then and bring extra batteries. The view from above the dock is pretty and a good spot to watch the sunset.
Slightly disappointed with the canopy walk - we got up quite early but didn't see any wildlife. It's not really the right spot for big birds and made us regret not having spent an additional night to be able to get out to the salt lick to see them. More our fault planning-wise than a negative for the property. Wasn't a big fan of the night walk (and the creepy-crawlys we could see during it) but it was fun to do as a group.

I had the best time traveling to the Amazon and would 10/10 recommend Monte Amazonica to friends! Great location far enough away from town with beautiful property, gardens and relaxing areas. I especially loved the hammocks and pool. Food was yummy and filling. Plus there is a bar :) Cabins were very clean and comfortable. Bring an extra battery pack to charge electronics as electricity is only available for 4 hours. Also bring a refillable water bottle and plenty of warm weather, light weight clothes. I was a solo traveler on this journey and made tons of friends in my group. And huge bonus that our tour guide Daniel is the coolest! He is very knowledgeable and shared great stories. If you want an opportunity to live in the jungle for a few days, see lots of animals and unwind and disconnect this is your place. I’ll definitely be back to visit!! Thanks for an incredible trip!
I think they can make improvements to the website. Add more information and make it more user friendly. As a solo traveler I needed a little more information before embarking on my trip.

The location near the Chuchna Clay Licks was excellent.
The architecture of the individual bungalows was interesting but not practical as their placement near each other created less privacy.
Coordination of transportation to and from the site needs to be better arranged as eight people were originally going to be squeezed into a vehicle for five, making for an unsafe situation.
