Third stay at this property so that speaks volumes, great location and a short stroll into the centre, clean, well appointed and always sleep well

Superb, I was annoyed I’d had to go to somewhere else for the next night!!!

Despite the restrictions about breakfast, which I was advised of and knew well in advance, the breakfast was simply delicious. In fact there was that much of it, it made up my lunch and afternoon snack, for the hills. A truly cosy, warm, well equipped, spotlessly clean experience. The bed was comfy too.

Just a personal view, but the room was so well furnished and appointed it lacked a chair. Apart from a small drawer cabinet there was nothing to sit on other than the bed.

Not worth it

We booked a room including breakfast, and the day we arrived the host messaged us saying there wouldn’t be a cooked breakfast available for us (only on tray in room), and offered a 20% refund for this. I accepted, however, I have still not received my 20% refund despite reminding the host multiple times. They gave me 5% after the first reminder and no reply since. Further, my friend has a dairy intolerance and the bread and pastry for her breakfast still included dairy (even though they said it didn’t). All in all a very disappointing stay.

Enjoyed the picturesque village and the loch, and the food in the village too.

The breakfast was great and even without the ability to serve the suggested hot breakie it was very fresh and satisfying and definitely enough!

Late message meant we weren't too sure of which was our room and began into the wrong one but it wasn't a big issue and easily rectified without a problem. Was a bit easy to drive past as signage was not that clear from our direction and had to ask in town when we missed the place and got to there. Improved signage would have helped if possible please.

Good for a quiet stay

We had a very comfortable stay here. The rooms were very quiet and appeared to have been recently refurbished - the shower room in particular was lovely and had an excellent jet shower. There were no cooked breakfasts available at the time of our stay but we knew this in advance and the continental-style breakfast (which did in fact include a hot breakfast roll of our choice) was very nice and delivered to our room. The location was perfect for us - right on the edge of the village and extremely quiet but an easy walk from the centre of the village. Good on-site parking too.

The outside of the property is a bit tired and slightly neglected looking, which is a shame as it doesn’t do justice to the much better presented interior.

Cosy little room with lovely jacuzzi bath, would be well worth the price if not for the few niggly bits letting it down.

Jacuzzi bath was the selling point for this room Like the idea of self check in, clean interior.

Only minor but couldn’t get jacuzzi light to work Light at side of bed did not work Tea stains down wall near bin Received email advising property no longer able to offer cooked breakfast and that we would receive a 20% refund due to this which is fine and an alternative was offered but timings did not suit us, however, still awaiting refund. Mattress did not fit frame so pillows kept sliding down hole when trying to sit up watching tv in bed

Beautiful and heaven

Amazing stay me and my partners first trip away and it was amazing a bit of a shame about the full cooked breakfast but it was all good and I can’t wait to come back

Pleasant room in a good location.

Lovely comfortable room in a good location.

There was no iron or hairdryer, I didn’t pack either of these, so you need to come prepared. The bathroom is private but not en-suite therefore you need to remember not to close the bedroom door when you nip to the loo or face being locked out.

Lovely, clean, comfortable rooms. Great location. Let down by the negleted outside area and yard.

Located a 5 minute walk into Fort August which is a lovely little place, lovely walks and great pubs and food. The room was lovely, comfortable and clean. The shower was amazing.

The thing which lets the stay down was the state of the outside of the property. Some rubbish and used bulding materials which had just been dumped and obviously being there a long time. Spending just 1 afternoon tidying the outside of the property would make a massive difference. The house next door which is also a B&B just looked lovely and really inviting. I think if you saw Appin house when passing by you would not choose to stay there, which is a shame as inside the house is lovely.

Room was big and comfotable. Had a room with jacuzzi which was great. Easy to find and good parking

Took some time to find out how to get jacuzzi working. Found the switch eventually - instructions would be helpful.

Good, pleasant stay. Pity that no proper breakfast was served

Beautiful location. Nice new building. Very clean. The twin. bedrooom is a bit small but comfortable . No hot breakfast was served but a breakfast tray with a very basic breakfast was delivered

Great location to walk to center of town.

Good location and great shower.

We never met the staff. They did enter the room to make the bed (even though we never asked for it because we were staying two nights only) but did not take our dirty coffee cups neither they replaced more coffee for us. Weird.

Pleasant

Clean room, although a bit smelly? Big flatscreen with internet (Netflix, Prime) and decent breakfast. Unfortunately no cooked breakfast as agreed but that was communicated beforehand and a discount given. Nice walking distance into the town and to the lake.

Noisy road and thin walls, so bring ear plugs. Moldy showers unfortunately. Not the most comfortable bed.

Very well appointed room but no staff on site at all.

The room was extremely well appointed with good quality furniture, fixtures & fittings. It had loads of parking space and was only a 5 minute walk from the center of Fort Augustus.

There were no staff there (front door was left open and room key was left in the lock) and there was no hot breakfast available. We did get a breakfast tray delivered to our room and we received a message saying that 20% would be refunded to compensate for the lack of hot breakfast. To date, that has not been received.

Excellent price, and amazing shower!!! The host wasnt on site, however responded to my texts straight away! Highly recommend for the NC500

Only small things which can be easily rectified...no long mirror and no where to hang clothes, but lots of pegs. Our breakfast was cancelled due to a licence issue.....however there was somewhere we could take food and eat, and they delivered a continental breakfast with a hot bap of our choice which was really nice. They have also stated we will get a 20% refund.

would definitely return , get the room with the jacuzzi

great location, stunning room , the four poster bed was gorgeous & very comfortable, breakfast was brought to our room and was delicious, the jacuzzi bath was our fave part of the stay and the bathroom was very luxurious, the staff where helpful and polite.

wifi didn’t work in the room at all , nether did the tv “ no signal “ , no bath robes and we think a small fridge would be very useful especially considering how spacious the room was .

Great value for money in a beautiful location

It was nice and clean, the bed, pillow and quilt was the best of all the places we had stayed in; so much so that I checked the make of the mattress and going to buy one, as we have previously come home as beds have been so uncomfortable for me as I have a back problem. I really didn’t want to leave the bed behind. We never saw the owner but he did provide a bacon roll, pastries and drinks. I loved that it wasn’t far to walk to local restaurants as I can’t work far

The shower door was a problem and water flow was weak so I didn’t shower as I wouldn’t have hot the shampoo out of my hair, so I just washed at the sink Unfortunately you could hear other guests in their rooms
