The rooms were comfortable, the linen clean, and the towels soft.
The pools were excellent. Food in the pool side bar was good at times, as were the bar staff.
It's a lovely part of history.
Overall, the quality of the food was poor, the evening menu is restrictive, and 'a la carte' is questionable. No children's menu available, when asked, felt as if we children were an inconvenience, told children had to eat what was on the menu, they were given chips at a cost of €8 for 10 pieces chips. Yes, we counted them.
The charge for food was extremely expensive for what you got, €14 for a plate of pasta, which had 14 pieces of undercooked pasta in it, ragu sauce was not fresh, meat chewy
The manager was unfriendly and unhelpful. We were always made to feel we were an inconvenience.
Also, I couldn't understand why the same items on the lunch menu were €2 to 4 more expensive on the dinner menu.
It's a shame that the food, restaurant part of the hotel, let's down our experience of the hotel.

Stunning Hotel and looked like a palace. Rooms are a good size and we had a family room which even included another room with a sofa and dining table.
The breakfast was a very good selection of hot and cold foods. The pool was very big and also had a smaller baby pool. Very clean and also had waiter service for food and drink as well as lifeguards.
Spa area was good although you had to book any treatments.
Plenty of parking.
The town is only a 5 min drive and has some great shops and restaurants.
Rooms although very comfortable beds were a little dated and not a lot of plug sockets in the rooms. Although some of our friends stayed at the same time and their rooms were quite modern so they could be in the process of revamping it.
We had our own car but if you didn't there are no taxis nearby and if you can its very expensive to go into town 5 mins away as it is quite remote.
Also everyone has to wear a swimming cap in the pool which isn't a big thing but just a little odd!

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were comfortable and the pool area was great. The breakfast buffet had a good choice and the snack menu was also good.
The WiFi signal in the bedrooms was very poor, in the communal and pool areas it was good though. The dinner menu was very limited, only 3 options, we drove into town to eat dinner.

Everything about this hotel was perfect, the staff were so attentive, they even opened the bar up for us on one evening, the pool staff in particular were so lovely..

We loved the staff! They were all so kind, professional and courteous! We tried the spa and dining facilities too! Services was great!
The menu for dinner could have a little more variety but we also understood this and everything we tried was well prepared.

Great position. Rooms were comfortable. Breakfast was good and varied selection.
Male member of staff at reception was rude and unhelpful. We arrived with lots of luggage but were not offered any help with our cases. We were not told where anything was and had to keep asking. No information in the rooms either. Although we had an accessible bedroom, there was no ramp at the front of the hotel, only steps which a member of our party found difficult to climb.

Angelo the waiter should be fired cause of him we had to lower our rating for the hotel and did not book another night

The hotel is very authentic, we loved the old style and beautiful garden, the staff was extremely helpful and nice to us with our requests.
it’s very dated in the quality. The old style we loved, however the bed was to old and not comfortable. (if you have a back problem or are a light sleeper it’s not great)
The cappuccino in the breakfast was disappointing for Italian standarts. It needs an upgrade in the details with love and it would be an amazing hotel, the staff made it great.

exterior of the hotel looks nice as well as common areas. This used to be a luxurious four star hotel, but not anymore.
breakfast was very far from **** hotel. It was practically just croissants and coffee.Tea was served with warm, not hot water so it tasted bad. This hotel’s glory has faded away.

Lovely building yet needs updating. Shuttle service is ideal and hotel very clean
Very limited English spoken. Found dinner and information difficult as all in Italian. Only one English speaking Channel on sky being sky news. Air conditioning did not work and neither did the towel rail. Shower very small. Rooms were noisy and the dinner was not 30 euro as advertised . No tea and coffee facilities in room either

A Grand Old Dame - a lovely hotel à l'ancienne !
Nothing much. A tiny comment regarding the dining areas (dinner & breakfast): the first night's dinner there was music playing gently in the background, which was great. After that, nothing, so it was uncomfortably quiet in the dining room - especially for Italy! We turned on some 60s-70s music on our smartphone quietly, and the other diners obviously enjoyed it as they ended up singling/humming. One other thing: the lovely wooden shutters on our room had been painted to match the colour of the walls, but the paint was peeling from the effects of the sun. They would be SO much nicer in their original state of natural wood.

The building was amazing.
The service was shockingly bad, I felt we were an inconvenience and interrupted their screen time.
