Great staff and a lovely breakfast. All round a smashing stay.
3.5 / 5.0
Good location and food
No hairdryer in room , upon request to locate one , an indifferent “don’t have one “ response was given

It was perfect for our needs.

The room and bathroom were clean and tidy. The staff were very helpful and having a garden under our room was exceptionally convenient!
No electrical sockets on both sides of the bed, only on one which made charging phones a bit tricky. Also there were no side lamps, so we relied on the bright room lamp.

Friendly staff, easy booking in.
Wasn't keen on walking along the corridor in middle of the night for the toilet.

Staff were friendly and explained everything clearly. Mentioned that the loud music would be going on until about 11:45pm. Which was fair enough and is mentioned on the listing.
The rooms allocated (1 and 7) are at opposite ends of the floor. I asked for rooms to be close to each other. They were as far apart as possible. The rooms allocated did not look like the ones shown in the picture and were really basic. One bathroom (for bedroom 1), was absolutely tiny. The extractor fans make a terrible noise. Just gives the impression that they don't spend much money on the details. Mattresses were very springy and cheap.

Beautiful building and staff very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. The room (room 9) was adequate for our needs but would have needed more space if staying longer than 1 night. It was clean, modern and comfortable. No on suite. Bathroom was a private one for our room and just down the hall a short distance away. We knew this when booked.
The shower was dirty. We had the attic room and was very warm even with the use of a fan. However, this is only negatives and with the room I'm sure another season and it wouldn't matter how hot the room gets.

Great location, friendly staff, great value for money. Nice pub downstairs with live music too.
It was great value, the decor is a bit tired.

We thought the breakfast was payed for in with the price
There was nothing not to like , tv on wall maybe , couldn't see it over partners feet 🤣

The staff and the locals were extremely nice, could not have been nicer. It is lovely to see a pub so busy these days. The food was very well cooked and enjoyable.. it's really hard to give an accurate score because if younger I suspect we would give a 10. It is very noisy with a thumping beat all night (if does say it's busy which is a good indicator but it is loud in the rooms). The room was brilliant, there were minor issues which I forgot to mention and certainly would not mark down for. Kettle too big to fill (not unusual there lol), no plug in the sink and a few items needed screws tightening. Minor stuff. All in all, really nice, great value just be prepared for the noise if you go at a busy time. It's well run and we'll worth a visit.

Charming young lady showed me to my room and explained all the details regarding my room and the hotel itself. Nice comfy bed and free parking on site.
My private bathroom/shower/toilet was not within my room.

Location was good to be able to get to and from Kettering Conference Centre. Plus plenty of shops nearby if you needed anything. Staff were really friendly. Everything was clean. Room and bathroom were plenty big enough.
Only issues I had was that there was no loo brush in the bathroom. Also the curtains didn't cover the window, so as soon as the sun was up light poured through.

Staff greeting was lovely
The bed was really uncomfortable, the heating was so noisy we couldn't sleep, the room felt like a prison cell

The venue itself is a lovely pub and the hotel above it is very good as well. Great and friendly staff, too.
I understand it is winter and maybe can get a bit draughty, but in our room, room 3, the radiator was on, set to its highest setting, tried to slowly bleed in some heat but to no avail. We turned the thermostat outside of our room to its highest setting, and still, it didn't warm up our room. The radiator kept on trying and at times kept me awake and even woke me up at 3am. That is a very disappointing way to spend my two nights there.

Food and drinks were very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Room 10 was rather claustrophobic as it only has roof windows and was rather stuffy even on a winter’s night. Church clock in the village chimes all night!! Light sleepers may need earplugs! Double bed didn’t have a headboard so was uncomfortable when watching tv and pillows disappeared down back of bed. Could do with mirror in bathroom in front of sink and not leaning up against wall as you can only see yourself from the neck down!!? More shelving in bathroom would be useful.

Good value. Clean room and bathroom. Good breakfast. Friendly young staff but not organised and no-one appeared to be in charge, so not very interested in our requests or queries. For example we could not get a second key in case we went out separately.
Room small but clean, but no bedside lights. Couldn't fill the kettle from the bathroom basin - had to use a cup.
See above, plus Saturday night a noisy private party beneath our room kept us from sleeping, with the vibrations coming through the floor. It did stop promptly at 11.30p.m.

Location great, easy to find. Staff very friendly and helpful. Was originally going to be put on second floor of accommodation but they kindly changed us to 1st floor as I have problem with stairs.
Food selection very good and reasonable price for the quality
I booked this as a B&B but was disappointed to find we had to pay for breakfast which we found very pricey and not that good value for the price....2x breakfasts plus tea and coffee for £24.50 is very expensive. Making the total cost of just under £80 for one night stay. The booking info is misleading.

was lovely clean and room was nice
the fact music went on till 1am, also that the thermostat was locked and heating on low, the Christmas lights were plugged in through our windows unable to close, we went for dinner and we’re rushed for the table and treated appalling by the staff

Comfy bed.
Room cold, heating went off in the evening. Asked staff member who adjusted the thermostat but it didn't rectify the issue.

Comfortable traditional pub. Friendly staff good food
I had asked for an ensuite but was give a key to use a locked bathroom down the corridor

Friendly staff, lovely food in restaurant
The church bell doing a full chime every 15 minutes throughout the entire night, checked ourselves out at 4.30am and drove home as we couldn’t take any more. Have called and emailed on more than one occasion and have basically been ignored. As we didn’t even manage to sleep there I believe we should be issued a refund. Was told that the church bell doesn’t normally do this! If it said on booking you could be prepared with earplugs but nothing was mentioned and no one is around after the bar closes to help with any issues as all we wanted was to move rooms. Such a shame as it was for a special occasion

The bathroom was down the hall away from the bedroom.

Good location to get to areas of kettering and Northampton.
Great breakfast !
Nice market square area with some interesting historical buildings.
Poor mattress where you could really feel the springs so I had to cover mattress with pillows and sleep on those!!
No iron.
We didn't realise until we got back to he premises that there was a DJ night on downstairs which made sleeping difficult until around midnight.

Room was comfortable and clean
We stayed on the top floor, a few flights of stairs, no lift. It wasn’t too much of an inconvenience however.
