About this cottage rental
Our family cottage rents by the week, Sunday to Sunday.
Take our view of the Prospect Harbor Lighthouse with your morning coffee this summer, disturbed only by the fishing of eagles and ospreys. Walk for miles along the granite beaches of our neighboring nature preserve, pick blueberries, play on our sand beach, or explore some of the best tidal pools of Hancock County.
We have views of the mountains of Acadia National Park from the floor to peak windows on our front wall. We’re isolated down a mile long private drive, but just around the corner from the Schoodic Peninsula and an easy drive to Mt Desert Island, or take the ferry to Bar Harbor from nearby Winter Harbor.
The house sleeps five, with a queen downstairs, and a queen and two singles in the loft. We have a single bathroom with a shower. The kitchen is well equipped to prepare the local lobsters, clams or mussels any way you like, or you can grill your daily catch on the deck. The newly updated kitchen has new stove, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. There is now plenty of counter and storage space. Since we love to cook, there are good knives and plenty of tools. We’ve provided a gas fireplace, washer and dryer. You have to provide lemons, butter, bikes and kayaks.

We loved our stay at this charming cabin. It was exactly as described and the oceanfront was so much fun to explore. The owners were fantiastic and answered all of our questions. The kitchen is very well stocked and the knives are actually usable. The beds are all very comfortable. It’s a bit of a drive to Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor but Schoodic point is fun as well. Verizon phones work great here for when you are planing your next adventure. We will definitely remember this place when we return.

Property was as advertised, only better. Rustic with taste but not at all spartain. Great views and atmosphere. Kitchen appliances were all new and high end. A huge lobster steaming pot was provided.
Plenty of notes were left to help us enjoy our stay.
Internet access via our phones was superb due to a nearby tower in Gouldsboro. (ATT, T-Mobile, Verizon, likely more).
Be sure to have breakfast in Winter Harbor, lunch in Corea Harbor (Lunch On The Wharf).
Biking at Schoodic Peninsula was excellent. E-Bikes were ok with some restrictions. Bicycles stayed out of the weather in the outside washroom.
A very, very private location! Well worth it!

Just what we were looking for...a great place to relax with lots of exploring available. The house was very clean and very comfortable. Loved the deck...we used it a lot!
Not having been there before, it was a bit scary arriving in the forest after dark, but we never felt unsafe and giggled about it in the morning! We loved our stay!

Great location with proximity to ocean. Even though there was no ocean access, my boys fished almost every day. Despite not catching anything, they still had fun. Loved listening to the ocean as we drifted off to sleep. Very secluded and peaceful. Thanks for sharing your cottage with us. Great way to end the summer as our older 2 boys head back/start college. Lots of family time and memories made.

We are frequent visitors to the Winter Harbour/ Corea peninsula and love this area away from hustle of more touristic Bar Harbor. The house is a rustic yet cozy cabin right on the water with incredible view of the Prospect Harbor lighthouse , morning lobster boats. It is VERY secluded with no neighbors surrounded by woods. The cabin is basic but covers mostly everything you may need from kitchen utensils, some spices/tea/sugar/coffee to gas fireplace that adds coziness on colder days and throws/blankets for late evenings on the deck. Washer and Dryer came handy for light packing travelers, but it is in a shack adjacent to the house that you enter from outside. Loft sleeping quarters have great over the water view through railing into the living area and nice large windows to the woods. Lower bedroom has 2 small windows, not much light but when you leave them open for the night, you go to sleep with pines whispering and ocean waves crashing against the shore, best lullaby you can ask for.

Our vacation was fantastic. The house is fully loaded with whatever you may need, during your stay. It is clean and comfortable, and the views are indescribable.
The Lunch on the Wharf, restaurant in Corea has the best Lobster rolls around and their entire staff was lovely.
It was an all around AMAZING vacation and we will go back next year! Martha promptly gets back to you, if you have any questions. Thank you for sharing your beautiful place, Martha. It was our best vacation, EVER! 😊

We had a wonderful and peaceful time. We loved that this place was secluded with an awesome view. We saw a family of harbor porpoises and a couple of seals every morning and in the evening. This place was everything we were expected and more.

The house is set up wonderfully to hang out for the week. The beds are very comfortable. Spent many hours on the deck watching the tide go in and out. Also spent time at Acadia and going up the coast. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have been coming back to this cabin for several years, it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy all the beauty around you. We saw eagles, seals and dolphins out in the harbor, our daughter caught fish right out front of the house. It’s peaceful and secluded, but not far from Schoodic and other places to explore. If you are looking to relax and enjoy nature this is the place.

I must say that when we first pulled onto the long winding dirt road that is the driveway to the property, it was a little scary but the next morning when we woke up and saw the beautiful view, Wow! The cabin was very nice, rustic and clean. I have to mention that we did smell propane and were a little concerned about that. Overall we loved the house but it is definitely the location that made it so memorable.

Went with my husband for a few nights. The house is very comfortable and was super clean. Kitchen very well stocked with all the needed utensils, etc. Beautiful livingroom and deck with ample view of the water. Great location, only a few minutes away from a gorgeous section of Acadia Nat Park.
The one thing I wished it had is more natural light in the master bedroom (and maybe a bigger shower) but everything else about the house was what we expected or better.
Thanks Dave and Martha!

Quiet place in un-spoiled part of coast but very close to Acadia

Wonderful week in Maine! The cabin was great! We enjoyed beach combing every morning. The sights and sounds were amazing. Seals, bald eagles, harbor porpoises, loons, lobster boats...we enjoyed it all. Spent some time in Winter Harbor and Prospect Harbor. Had lunch in Corea...Took many photos of the harbor towns. Went to Bar Harbor for the morning. Couldn't wait to get back to the solitude!! Had a picnic on Schoodic Point. Ate our fill of lobster. Cabin was cozy...spent the evenings playing games and watching movies. Not for families with tiny ones. Small area before the rocky shore. Could be dangerous. Thanks for sharing your cottage with us!!

A very nice clean ocean front cottage.
my wife and I along with my daughter and 2 grandkids stayed here for 5 nights and very much enjoyed the quiet and beautiful ocean views and the surrounding wildlife we saw.
we saw a pod of harbor porpoises one afternoon along with local sea birds and the pet red squirrel my daughter fed by hand.
they have a very nice deck that we spent a fair amount of time on, would of actually liked to of spent more time at the cottage relaxing but spent just about everyday on the road visiting relatives and spending time with my 98 year old grandmother who lives very close.
if we decide to go back to Maine in the near future we would consider has a great place to stay.
Martha was very friendly and helpful and everything she said about the place was true and there were no disappointments.
the kitchen was a nice plus for cooking the local lobsters and the extra room over a Hotel was much appreciated when we needed a little personal space from the long days traveling.

My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed our vacation here! It was hard to leave! As far as amenities, it had everything we needed including much needed peace and privacy (quite secluded). We had planned to go to an upscale restaurant for dinner at least one night but there was no need when we realized we had the most beautiful view from our deck (sunset included) and live lobster to cook from the local co-op. Almost every morning I climbed onto one of the big rocks on our rocky shoreline (with my coffee) to sit and soak in the beauty of the ocean, the breeze, the wildlife...The cottage is located within easy driving distance to the Schoodic Penninsula and Acadia. We hiked in the Petite Manan Wildlife Refuge. Went to the Nautica Pub on a rainy day to eat a good lunch and shoot some pool. Just driving around the small, quaint towns in this area was a treat. I guess the only thing I think I would have changed if I could was the size of the shower - pretty small. People of the area were friendly. The owner, Dave, was very helpful in answering questions before hand. Life is short, so making memories is important...Maybe it was the stress I needed to escape, the alone time needed with my husband (of 35 years), or simply seeing the beauty of God's creation - probably a combination of all three but this was a vacation memory I will always hold dear in my heart:) If it's serenity you want - this has it.

A beautiful setting which provided an excellent base for a week of photography trips to Acadia and many other nearby locations. The cottage is well maintained and has all the needed ammenities. The location provided a private and peaceful retreat with a wonderful deck and a rocky coast which was fun to explore. The local harbor towns had everything we needed - a 5&10, a grocery store, gas station, bakery, and several restaurants - all within 10 minutes.

Maine at its BEST!
We enjoyed an early fall week on the water in this wonderful home with bedroom (queen) and roomy three-bed (twins) loft. Large wrap-around deck. Art objects have been crafted from items found on the beach. Large, fully stocked kitchen made meal prep easy and fun. Full laundry facility was very handy for light-packing travelers. Updated and very clean. Ramp entry makes first level handicap friendly. One large bathroom with stall shower. Local activities not to be missed include nearby Acadia National Park, Winter Harbor Five and Dime with sea glass and pastry shops on the same street, buying lobsters from the Corea Lobster Co-op, and the U.S. Bells Foundry. Watch for roadside signs to these places. Walking on the rocky shore filled many hours. Room for everyone's activities. Take your own DVD's for the flat screen TV. We have booked another week for next year. Highly recommended by discriminating world travelers who love all things Maine.
