Breakfast and dinner great
5.0
Although it is an old hotel, this just adds to the charm that is the Royal. Staff and service were impeccable, you definitely feel like royalty when you visit. We loved sipping port by the crackling fireplace (there are a few), as well as having a two course breakfast on the "stoep". Will definitely return!
No complaints

The staff really made us feel like royalty. Our group was wined & dined in the private "Blue Room" and we ended our evening enjoying a glass of whiskey at the Royal Hotel Bar. What a great experience!

The tranquility and mystic

retained much of the original style and feel in the main building.
However the suites along the garden are modern, roomy and comfortable.
The long shaded stoep (verandah) is a classic and well used for meals and drinks.
Perfect place to relax.

A great opportunity to experience a historic hotel with all the modern conveniences. The Royal is a beautiful, very well maintained hotel in the heart of Riebeek Kasteel. We stayed mid-week (as part of our first visit to the Swartland wine region) so it was relatively quiet. Staff were friendly and attentive yet professional, clearly taking pride in their work. We enjoyed drinks on the veranda in the afternoon and then a delicious well prepared evening meal there as well.

Beautiful old historic building and interior
small rooms, old ill fitting door frame. TV extremely small with bad sound.

Prime location and helpful staff, nice breakfast
A bit past its prime, doors very hard to open and close, aggravating elevator music and noisy bedroom next to the patio
2.5
Location, verandah
Coffee not good. Service v slow. Aircons in rooms didn’t work fully. No tea/coffee in rooms. Priced as high end but didn’t deliver, disappointing
3.5
Friendly staff, nice communal areas. Well priced and well placed.
Sense of past glory.. Noisy dripping shower head all night long. Threadbare and torn bath mat. Room Door that was not entirely secure.
4.5
Serve better bacon and serve everything together
Parking facilty security needs attention. The water pressure when we arrived was a problem but fully understand that loadshedding could have caused this and that was what we was told. However still managed to have a bath even though it took long to fill

The breakfast was great. Lovely fire in the bar. Amazing.
The staff were amazing. Very friendly and helpful.
I wlll definitely be back.
A great weekend away.
The TV in the room was tiny. Could be bigger. Not that I watched much TV. So not a real issue.
