The location and the staff were great.
We had issues with the fiest room we got due to lack of window to keep warmth of bedroom and it was too noisy and the woman at the front desk was super nice and moved us to another room. Despite us not being very satisfied, she was always very attentive and nice.
Rooms are really old; not very clean.

very polite person checking us in caught an error in price and fixed it for us. The hotel is across from the plaza; museum, restaurants, river close by, very old hotel but charming
across from plaza! - very noisy all Sunday night, one water bottle new, other water bottle was not sealed, bathroom clean, rest could use a good cleaning, small ants around but could be due to old terrace doors did not have a good seal.

Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. Rooms are big and clean, had everything we needed. Restaurant downstairs is great. Service was wonderful all around, such helpful staff.
We stayed in a room facing the plaza the first night, not the best for light sleepers. Moved to an internal room the next night and it was very quiet.

Nothing good about this place, well maybe the location, but I suggest everyone to stay away of this filthy place, terrible staff from hell, dirty bathroom, very noisy , ac didn't work.
We wait 30 minutes for the rude front desk lady to arrived, no apologies for the long way, everyone else ignore us while we wait, like if it was normal , when she finally showed up, they over charge me, I show my confirmation email with the correct price extremely rude with her words and attitudes arguing with us, didn't respect the booking price, The nightmare continue upstairs in the bedroom , ac didn't work properly, very noisy , bed small , with used bed sheets stain and with someone else hair on the pillow cases, bathroom dirty

Staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel is beautiful and perfectly located. If I return to El Fuerte I will stay here again, and I will tell my friends about it and recommend it.
Nothing. It could not be better.

Rustic feel. Location was excellent...across from the main square. The hotel had a nice ambiance. WiFi was good. Staff was great.
The shower drained slow...needed flip-flops to take shower....reason gave it a 9. We were leaving right after the shower. So, we did not bother in requesting the receptionist to address the issue. But, let her know to fix it for the upcoming patron. Noisy outside due to rustic windows...but that is what we expected and did not bother us after about 1AM when things quiet down.

Spacious rooms and great location.
Lots of El Fuerte charm with modern and clean rooms and bathrooms. Hot water and great shower!
There was an issue between booking.com and the hotel. They did not have our reservation and we bought breakfast through booking.com, but the hotel doesn’t have breakfast service.
Thankfully the hotel had a room and gave us the room price that booking offered. They also directed us to several good restaurants for breakfast within a block.
