Cadre est très agréable
Communication peu claire, on a souvent l'impression de déranger
Je n'étais pas à l'aise

Very characteristic French house with a beautiful pool and garden. Good location.
Nice stay but a little clouded by the (too) numerous house rules (curfew, restrictions at the pool,…).

Not much
Ver stern hostess on arrival who claimed to speak very little english until she asked us to pay the city tax in Perfect English prior to departure.
The only hotel in the world where I have been asked to remove my own rubbish from the room.

Lovely property surrounded by trees and very close to the city centre. The host was very nice and the breakfast a winner.
The swimming pool was only open from 2pm which is a shame as it would have been nice to be allowed to swim in the mornings (especially when it was more than 35 degrees)

The beautiful calm location, the help we got with the taxis when we left and the very large room.
We could not go out with the keys either of the hotel nor the room, so it makes it difficult to arrive late in the night. We felt like we had a curfew.

Location as expected and overall charm of house.
Owner was rude and inhospitable, when we asked to have two beds she simply handed the sheets to us to make the second. She didn't make us pay, but would have rather paid than be treated that way. Wifi in room didn't work and she implied something was wrong with our devices, rather than simply the fact the room was too far from modem.
Bathroom had been added to room and was cheap, shower had to be held in hand.

The building once belonged to an interior architect who had an amazing taste in colours. Many of the rooms and indeed the windows in the front door were a cornucopia of bright contrasting colours. We had a suite of rooms that would have slept five people instead of our three. One of the rooms had a small refridgerator and kettles a a table at which we could have a meal. Up to a point it was 'cosy' and within a reasonable distance from Saumur Centre and out of town shopping and commercial centers as well as Loire vigneyards and other interesting tourist attractions,
We booked for four adults and one child through Booking.com but were rather tersely greeted by the owner who said we hadn't mentioned a 12 years old child. Clearly the Booking.com system didn't convery the information. There is also a list of conditions that needs to be read in detail. For instance the swimming pool can only be used by men if they were bikini style swim pants rather than shorts! For some reason men in shorts are not deemed to be hygienic by the patronne! Since the last time I wore such a garment was many decades ago when I was probably 8 years old I didn't use the pool. WiFi is advertised but failed to function during our stay despite many attempts. the same was reported by other guests.
