The owner was on hand to assist
The correct code had been sent by the owner, but the final message from booking.com also had a code that looked like it was the code for the keys.
This created some confusion.

Rooms were beautiful and a lot of attention to detail.
The heating wasn’t on and was freezing. The toilet isn’t in the main house so not only cold but the children didn’t want to get up on their own to it.
Would have like a TV in our room as it was so cold we got into bed.

Location was perfect for visiting family. Usually we stay in a cottage in another village but in future we will book Chestnut Lodge.
We were happy with everything nothing to complain about.

Great location and lovely lodge.
There were four adults staying in the lodge so another toilet would have been great.

The property was beautiful and there was so much eye for detail. Their communication was amazing and answered any of my messages so fast. The beds were so comfortable and they eve accommodated a travel cot for my 2 year old. The property had so much information on things to do in the surrounding areas as well as places to eat and drink it gave as so many ideas! We are a family of 4 our kids are 6 and 2 and they had an amazing time. There is a little seating area in the back that the kids loved to play in and we even got cuddles with their dog before we left. Thank you so much for such an amazing experience and sorry it took so long for me to write this review.
I cannot fault a single thing. This place was amazing from start to finish and if we are back here again we will be sure to stay in this beautiful accommodation again! Thank you ever so much!

Beautiful cosy and vey relaxed- helpful owner - also v friendly dog to borrow as required :)
Beds slightly soft but that is just personal preference as have a bad back and prefer hard mattress

Nothing to dislike about the property.

Top sheet on the beds as well as the duvet would be preferable in hot weather

Lovely location.
Well designed open plan living area. Good quality furnishings, not 'tired' or tatty. Dishwasher (with tablets) and washing machine provided. Lovely old black and white dog that lives nearby and ambled past.

Chestnut Lodge is a beautiful and well appointed cottage. The cottage is situated in a very peaceful location. It was extremely clean and comfortable. Very comfortable beds, comfortable bed linen, plenty of towels provided etc. The private outside courtyard is a huge bonus too.
The Wifi did not work at all which was a bit of a pain, however I could get decent 4G signal. I was out for most of the time I was staying so the lack of Wifi wasn't a huge issue for me. Wardrobe could be improved - I couldn't hang a normal length dress in the wardrobe (wardrobe was too short).

Owners very helpful when we didn’t receive the email with the code. Property well equipped and very clean.

The cottage is really homely, comfortable, and has everything you could possibly need. The surrounding area is peaceful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Location was fine. Reasonable shops and restaurants nearby (but you need a car to get there)
A few plants on the patio would have made it a lot more cheerful

Lovely spacious accommodation. Nice deco
There were a couple of poos in the court yard.

Extremely comfortable with homely feel
Personally I found the duvet on the bed too hot.
An alternative would be good

Great lodge, comfy warm beds very quite. Great communication from the owners. Dereham has a strong place in my heart and I try to go there as much as I can and I will now have this place as a must stay from now on.
nothing really. only grip and it’s a small one it would have been better if one of the double rooms could adapt to a twin room, but we made do and it didn’t spoil our break.
