The setting is lovely and the building is quite impressive. The manager was attentive and very polite.
The building is rundown and not well kept (dirty). Overall, there is a lack of attention to detail. The mat in the bathroom looked filthy, there was no soap, the room (beds) was not made up from one day to the next, the curtains were seethrough so the light came in (which is very earlier during the summer months) and the breakfast (at an additional cost) is the poorest offering I have ever seen at a hotel.

Beautiful location, wonderful people. Tranquil and relaxing. Made us feel at home and they were in no rush for us to leave, even making coffee long after the leaving time.

The lodge itself looks even more beautiful in real life. The room was stunning with an amazing view to the surrounding mountains. It was clean, warm, cosy and had a “home” feeling.
The whole experience from arriving, to staying and leaving was great! Jon and Adrian were super accommodating and helpful, giving us a personal tour of the property and surrounding history. The hiking trails were spectacular.
We cannot thank both of them enough for the awesome experience and will definitely come back again.

- Location was perfect. View of snow-capped mountains from my window
- Staff were very accommodating
- Dinner was fantastic. Grilled salmon and potatoes. The lava cake for dessert was the best that I have ever tasted
- Went in late August...so in the off-season. I was the only one at the lodge

Full house when we were there but enough shared bathrooms. Breakfast and dinner were also ok. Beds were ok. Very friendly. Nice view.
Wifi in the room was very bad and almost impossible to connect. It was very very noisy, if someone was walking in the hallway or opening a door, it seemed like they were in our own room. This made it hard to find some rest inside our room.

Staying in the Phillipshaugen Lodge was a real treat: very comfortable, cozy and with a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Camilla and Joar are wonderful hosts, we enjoyed it so much we stayed another night.
The room we stayed in was quite basic, but comfortable. And there was the spacious living room were we could relax and read a book by the fireplace.

The location is good. Easy to find. Friendly staff.
No internet even it was declared good coverage on whole area. Small volume of boiler, not enough hot water for 3 person. The staff well accepted our remarks and hopefully will make some corrections.
