About this bed and breakfast
Built above the original Blue Moon Carriage House from about 1900, this Loft style cottage unit is full of detail designed to make your stay the perfect Downtown Apalachicola Get-A-Way!
Welcome!!!
From the moment you ascend the stairs and open the 100+ year old front door, you know this will be the first of a tradition of your visits to the Moon! This is a one bedroom / one bath Loft with a kitchenette & eating area looking out to your own personal Bridge balcony. The Loft was built using true southern restoration pieces like an antique farm sink and 100+ year old cub-bards from the McDonald homestead in South Georgia. Reclaimed cypress beams accent the sliding barn door which is also a refinished piece which is about 150 years old as well. The shabby chic mantel is also from a home in the original neighborhood of the legendary 'Doc Holliday' who was from Lowndes County (just over the Georgia/Florida line).
While history is all around, the modern-day oversized Garden Tub bath awaits you to ease away the time and relax. Then 'above it all' are the huge skylights constructed through the tin ceiling. From the ultra plush pillowtop bed, You can lie back and count the stars or watch the clouds roll by after an afternoon restful retreat.
So, whether you are returning from an eco tour up the river, a day at the beach, fishing or kayaking on the bay, a stroll or golf cart ride through the oak lined historic district, shopping around the corner, or dining at the one of the amazing waterfront cafes just steps from your door, The Blue Moon Carriage House Loft is your perfect home away from home for your best Apalachicola experience!
NOTE: there is a 3 night minimum for Seafood Festival and all Federal holidays, standard 2 night minimum all other dates

We really enjoyed our time here. The place was comfortable and quiet. The balcony was very enjoyable, we especially enjoyed the birds . The Carriage House is easy walking distance to restaurants and nice shops. Apalachicola is a wonderful place to visit and our stay there was great. There is a lot to do in the area. Fishing, museums and a short drive to beautiful beaches at St George island. The WW 2 museum at Carrabelle was very special to see.

We found this loft very clean, nicely furnished, and comfortable. It had everything we needed for a pleasant two-week stay. The location is in the heart of historic downtown Apalachicola, safe, and just steps away from the wonderful restaurants, historic sites, shops, and bars the area has to offer. Despite the central location, the loft is very quiet, and the balconies are perfect for catching morning sun while sipping coffee. The host was wonderful, too! We highly recommend this place.

We were in town for the Porch Fest. We wanted to stay in town so we could walk and ride bikes everywhere. This was a perfect location. Close to everything. The rental was very clean and cute. You must be able to walk up stairs. This could be a concern if you are not able to carry luggage or had a lot of items to carry up. This did not impact us. We enjoyed the common areas and enjoyed visiting on the porch with others.

This is a very adorable little loft, that was super close to all the restaurants and shopping in Apalachicola!
The only issue we had was the AC wasn’t adequate for the hot summer! Even at 2 AM we were hot! Outside of that we loved this charming little loft!

Carriage house was centrally located, walking distance to downtown, restaurants and shopping. Was comfortable and certainly adequate for a short visit. Enjoyed meeting the owners and looking at their other property. Be sure to check out the small farmers market almost next door on Wednesdays! Thanks for letting us stay! Was a real pleasure!

Beautiful loft above a garden sitting area within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants in Apalachicola. Filled with intriguing salvaged and antique items from around town - a perfect studio apartment with full kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bath. Two skylights allowed for star watching at night. Romantic and secluded.

This is the cutest little place to stay and is in a great location! It , has easy access to shops, restaurants, etc., but also "away from it all." It was very clean too!

We loved this loft! The property is quaint, quiet and walking distance to popular restaurants. Landscape is beautiful, jasmine vines and succulents. The loft is creatively decorated, mixing antique cabinets, doors, sinks with a cool metal ceiling with beautiful skylights and exposed beams.
We had beautiful weather and spent mornings and evenings on the balcony.
Loved the Tap Room for dinner, just down the street. And Oyster City Brewery is across the street from Tap Room . Fun!

We really enjoyed our extended weekend stay at the loft. It has everything that we need and is very charmingly decorated. The location is great, only 5 min walk to downtown Apalachicola with many quirky shops, restaurants and cafes, and about 20 min drive to the St George island.

Unique apartment, no wasted space. Comfortable space, bed is firm...which I appreciate. TV swivels from living area toward bedroom. Love, love, love the tub! Coffee, bring your own, on the balcony while watching gulls attach the oyster pile across the way. We spent our time between Carrabell, East Pointe, st. George Island and Appalachicola. Great music, friendly people, good eats(Red Pirate, Paddys Raw Bar, and High Five Dive Bar.)

Cute room, right downtown
We enjoyed our stay. It was very convenient to downtown Apalachicola, just right outside the door. We walked to the restaurants, and shops. The room was cozy and cute. Loved sitting outside on the balcony. Just be sure to bring your own bath soap because there wasn’t any in the room.
