About this bed and breakfast
Beautiful welcoming home by the DC Aquatic Gardens. This is the perfect space for friends or families to meet up with 4 charming and spacious bedrooms (named, California, Spain, Rio, and Asia after places we have lived), an open layout living room/kitchen and a massive 5,000 sqf yard with a BBQ. Our home is a short walking distance to Deanwood metro (orange line, on renovation until Sept 22), close to the 295 on the east side of DC where you can get to downtown DC in 15 minutes. Our house is great for families or groups of friends to spend time together either inside in the open high-ceiling living room-kitchen area or outside, where the deck-yard is always fun for everybody. It is very unusual to have so much space in DC, being only a short drive to all the atractions.
Our home has been carefully decorated with crafts and furniture of places we have lived in or places that have strong influences in our family...Spain, Vietnam, Brazil, China, Thailand, Morocco, Japan, and of course, the US (California and DC). We want to share a little bit of our life with our guests.
Take an Uber, and you will be in the National Mall or Capitol in a short 15 minute drive. Around the house, you can find the Lily Ponds National Park, the Anacostia Trail and Kenilworth Park, where seeing deer, turtles, vultures or eagles is common.
If you are thinking of hosting an event bringing more people, do not hesitate to ask us about this. Our place has been very successful, so we will let you know some particular rules and extra costs associated with an event. Note - we do not allow any evening events unless you also rent our adjacent guest house.
Guest access
You will be able to access the main home, front garden, and our large back yard. However, please do not access the Guest House property that is adjacent to the main home and can host 4 people. (The homes are separate). If interested in renting it for additional space, please ask us.
Other things to note
As there is also a Guest House on the property, we ask that you remain respectful of house rules and noise levels.

The property manager was very communicative from the start. I enjoyed the stay and didn’t have any major issues at the home. The wifi went out for a few hours but the PM came and fixed it fairly quick. The living room is a bit dark during the day, but that’s minor Thanks you guys for a great stay for me and my family. We all enjoyed your home. Happy Summer!

Overall great stay at this property! It is as advertised. I had a few questions/issues regarding accommodations and the property manager was extremely swift with communication. Very close to downtown. My only constructive feedback is the quality of the neighborhood.

Don’t do it
We never even stayed in this property. The listing saying the guest house is a separate house but it is not. It’s separated by a little kitchen door with no lock on our side to make sure we are safe. Due to health concerns we were not able to stay. The host was not at all helpful and VRBOs customer service was awful. Besides all that, the house is not in a great neighborhood, the house next to it is completely falling down, there are things in the pictures that are not in the house. All in all it was a disaster that we lost a lot of money on.
