• North Captiva is unlike any other beach destination. This exclusive 3-mile long ½-mile wide private barrier island is only reached by water taxi or private boat. You are within walking distance to the most pristine white sugar sand beaches in the world, some are completely private and untouched in a 350-acre wildlife nature preserve. Watch a family of manatees (babies!) from the nearby docks. See dolphins playing, island tortoises, and view a large variety of island birds up close in their natural habitat. Our large family full of grandparents all the way down to babies had the best time at this house! Sublime is not on the beach but you can see it and it is literally a 2 minute golf cart ride away. We thought that was perfect, we would spend the mornings on the beach playing in the ocean and then back to the house for the littles to nap. That was pool time for the adults then in the pool for the littles after their naps. We felt able to spread out and each bedroom has its own bathroom so that was nice as well for privacy, the kitchen had everything we needed for all the large meals. Loved the crows nest for sunrise and sunsets. There are two large balconies as well. It’s just a super set up and the island itself is absolutely stunning. They are still recovering from the hurricane but the beaches are impeccable and at times we felt like we had the island to ourselves. I was a little nervous about having to haul all the groceries over but it worked out just fine. We ordered a delivery once and also bought some prepared food from one of the caterers that were recommended and both services were amazing. Definitely want to come back!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Sublime beach house! The property was clean, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities I needed for a perfect beach getaway. The location was unbeatable, just a couple minute golf cart ride to multiple different beaches
Lacey was welcoming and responsive, along with their property management team. The check-in process was seamless, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout the house, such as the beach gear and detailed guidebook.
I would highly recommend this beach house to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay!

If you have a large group, this is a great house. The pool was amazing for our kids. Every time we were not at the ocean, the kids were in the pool. Lots of great games like ping pong and such. Enough seating for very large group meals. We loved the screened in decks on the 2nd and 3rd floor. The over look deck on the top of the house was amazing as well.the listing is just as it states.

Three story house with terrific eagle’s nest on the rooftop. Although not on the beach it is very close to the water. Nice views on the north end of the island. Pool and deck with variety of game choices a good setup for family activities. House appointed nicely with two washers and dryers. Third floor is kitchen, dining and living areas. It is a healthy walk upstairs. Lots of privacy in this home.

Sublime was perfect for our family of 17 with something for everyone to do and enjoy. This large home provided both ample bedroom privacy and roomy meal time seating indoors or out without feeling crowded. We were somewhat surprised by the hurricane damage to the island and the ongoing cleanup but that certainly did not stop us from enjoying the beautiful beaches and unique location. Back at the house, the pool and ping-pong table provided both the kids and adults with a source of daily fun and entertainment. The large outdoor decks on all levels were also well utilized. And, the weather was perfect! Great memories were made here - thanks!

Our family of 13 enjoyed every minute in the stunningly comfortable “Sublime”. There was plenty of room to spread out with breathtaking views! Sunrise on one side, and sunset on the other! Also incredible star gazing from the crow’s nest. A few hiccups early on but they were addressed immediately by Shally’s Seashells and Lacey herself. Loved it so much, we booked again for next year within hours of our departure.

We celebrated a milestone birthday with 3 generations at Sublime. The island is still cleaning up and rebuilding from the last hurricane, but we made lots of memories and will cherish our time together. Lacey was super responsive and answered all our logistical questions and quickly resolved some minor issues. The views were spectacular and the house perfectly suited our needs.

Love the design of the house. Great balconies on two levels. Private pool for late night swims. There are few houses on the island large enough for our family of 18.

We stayed 7 nights at the Sublime on North Captiva to start the new year. Our family of 2 grandparents, 2 parents, and 2 young kids found the layout and amenities at The Sublime to be just right. We had plenty of room. The games at the house (foosball, ping pong, and cornhole) and beach equipment were great to use during our stay. The property management and owner were quick to respond to our needs (heat instead of cooling when we had some cooler days and replacing a golf cart quickly when one just died for some reason). The private pool was nice - just right for our small group. We did go to the NCIC pool as well, giving the young kids some variety.

We just returned from a week on North Captive. We stayed at the Sublime house on VRBO. I had several conversations with the owner Lacy as well as the property manager Shalley's. Always responsive to questions.
We had a group of three families, 7 kids from 16mo to 8yr, six adults. There was plenty of space for us all. The house is beautiful with gorgeous views, including an Eagle's Nest, on the very top. (I declared it my 'Cone of Silence'). There are seven bedrooms, sleeps 19, so plenty of space. The living room is spacious, enough room for kids with homework at a dinner table, not bothered by the TV nearby.
The transportation on and off the island was seamless. Pine Island Taxi, and Island Girl water ferry were fully synced, as was the property management team. Our rides were waiting for us at each check point.
We had groceries delivered to the house on our arrival day which greatly simplified the arrival process.
Some parts of the island are still under restoration from Ian but everything we needed/wanted was quite functional. It's great there is no automobile traffic on the island...only golf carts. We spent some time at the North Captiva Island Club, and rented a boat to cruise to Cayo Costa, lunch at Cabbage Key, and south for drinks in Captiva at the Mucky Duck
This was a very relaxing vacation for our 3 generations to get away to.

Our family of 8 adults (us and our married children) and 8 grandchildren spent a week at Sublime. The house was perfect for our large group and gave us plenty of space. It was nice to have bedrooms on 3 levels so grandchildren who needed a nap could be in a quiet place. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well.
We spent a lot of time in the swimming pool and the game area on the ground level deck. We did workouts on the second level deck. The views from the lookout on top are breathtaking - we watched the sunrise from up there multiple mornings (we think this is the highest point on the island) The views from the 3rd level deck and the kitchen/dining area are also beautiful.
The house is clean and well maintained, quiet and comfortably air-conditioned. The property manager (Shally's) promptly responded to questions and requests and made us feel cared for.
We rented two boats for a day and took a trip to Cayo Costa and Cabbage Key. We used the pool and restaurant at the Island Club a lot also. The staff at Boats and Fun were super helpful for renting fishing poles and boats.
This house is awesome!

Sublime was excellent! A great house with everything you need. The heated pool was a great addition to the end of everyday. Best sunset views from the top of observatory. This was a true vacation where you just relax and enjoy the beach and kick back. Any bad reviews are probably because people expect this to be perfect and tip top shape. It's a tiny island. If you visit any small island in the Caribbean you understand somethings just take time to repair and things move at a slower pace. The moment you can accept and appreciate this you will really love N Captiva :)

Enjoyed a relaxing stay on the island. Beach and pool fun. Quieter vacation as the island is smaller and less tourist trappings. Not at top function yet from the hurricane , but well on its way. Great for those that want a quieter trip and water activities for choices.

Sublime was the perfect property for our diverse group. Everyone had privacy in comfortably appointed rooms with private baths, yet the common areas were welcoming and varied. Though it’s three flights up to the main living space, the view and the comfort are worth it.The huge and well-outfitted kitchen allowed our family chefs to show off, and the openness to the family area was convenient and communal. The outdoor spaces are wonderful, too, with tons of screened-in porch space with views everywhere. The rooftop deck has THE BEST VIEW! It became both a sunset gathering place and a private spot for reflection. The downstairs entertainment area has absolutely everything. So many afternoons we spread out between the pool, hammocks, sitting area and games. Oh, and the Island Club is a fantastic perk, too! There is definitely something for everyone. I must also give a shout out to the very responsive owner and property managers. Overall, though the island is still rebuilding, it has retained its charm, beauty, friendliness, and relaxing vibe.

Everyone in our group was very happy with the property. It offered plenty of gathering spaces and plenty of private spaces. The young ones thoroughly enjoyed the pool, which although small, was still big enough for our party of 19 people to enjoy! The few “problems” we had were easily solved by the Property Manager, Lacey, and the few suggestions we made for improvements were cheerfully accepted. Don’t expect perfection when renting any property, as small things (like scratchy towels or broken brooms) shouldn’t spoil anyone’s vacation. We would definitely stay at this house again and hope others enjoy it as much as we all did.

This was our first time ever visiting N Captiva. While the island has been hit hard by the hurricane, the home and the beaches were beautiful. The wildlife on and around the island are truly one of a kind. We swam with manatees and saw dolphins every day. The sunrise and sunsets are some of the best I’ve ever seen. We truly enjoyed our stay. Recommend bringing lots of bug spray for the mosquitoes.

We visited Sublime on North Captiva Island for our annual family reunion. We were impressed with the responsiveness of the Tortuga Properties management team, as well as the homeowner, Lacey. They were all committed to making our vacation one to remember. Sublime is a beautiful home and the private pool was a huge hit for all the kids!

Our vacation was totally ruined and nothing was as advertised. This island is not ready for visitors. It was like vacationing in a war zone. We felt unsafe. There were septic waste and dangerous chemical substances lying about. ( I have 1000s of photos) Our host was horrible, she ghosted me and her staff made excuses for her. We deserve a refund. She lied and robbed us of a vacation. She wrote to me that all she cares about is her 5 star review. This host is not trustworthy. If you are looking for a 5 star vacation go to Watercolor.

What a beautiful place to share special family time together. It removes all pressures if daily life and give you time to enjoy nature.
The hardest part of our stay was leaving! Would love to come back.

Our group loved this place while celebrating our parents 50th anniversary! There was something for everyone, regardless of age. We had 10 adults, 9 kids (ages newborn-13). The property was exactly as described. It was clean, spacious for our large group, and had everything we needed for our stay.
Communication and service with Lacey and Tortuga properties was excellent. They were always quick to get back to us (literally within minutes usually) and any issues were quickly attended to.
As to be expected, the island is still in recovery mode from the hurricane. While it did make for debris lined roads through out the island, it also meant very few people staying on the island which left us feeling like we were on a private island. Manatees and dolphins were daily sightings and the beaches were great.
The golf carts were great for getting around the island. We went to OTW for dinner one night, hired a chef another night, and enjoyed private massages out on the deck.
This house is perfect for a family vacation. It's a unique spot making it a memorable vacation that we're still talking about weeks later! Book now - you won't be disappointed!!

Having never been to North Captiva Island, this was truly an adventure of a lifetime! We stayed at Sublime with another family - for a total of 13 of us - and it did not disappoint! The house is fully updated and absolutely beautiful! The rooms are large and spacious, we enjoyed eating on the closed in porch on the large table on multiple occasions and sipping coffee overlooking the ocean is not to be missed! There is plenty of room for everyone and lots of activities available for all ages.
The communication with both Lacey and the Tortuga management company was outstanding. They were quick to response - even at odd hours - and things were handled quickly and professionally every time. It made the time stress free.
The island of North Captiva was spectacular! Our family got to experience so much wildlife and the ocean was picture perfect. We will most definitely be back!
Thanks for a wonderful stay!!

We traveled to North Captiva Island with a party of 16. It was a family vacation with ages 72 to 3 years old. Lacey was accessible and responsive to the numerous questions we had leading up to our vacation and during. We could not have asked for better accommodations for our large group. The island living and traveling with golf carts was a unique and memorable experience. The beaches were breathtaking and no crowds. The sunrise and sunsets are stunning! We saw manatees several times a day. We saw a plane take off and land on the airstrip. We enjoyed the new pool a lot! We would love to make it back someday!

Our party of 8 adults and 11 kids (ages 4-10) stayed for our spring break trip from Minnesota. When we originally booked the home didn’t have a pool- so that was an added bonus.
We were nervous hearing about some of the damage from Ian- but upon arrival quickly learned that wouldn’t impact our experience. Manatees, turtles, beaches and sunsets are all intact and amazing.
There’s construction and cleanup that is obvious around the island- but the home is in 100% working order and had everything we needed to enjoy our week stay. We had a chef come in 2 nights, professional massages on the screened in patio and lots of laughs around the multiple seating areas around the house.
Our kids did say we had the slowest golf carts on the island- but we had fun using them and they got us where we needed to go safely.
We came home with beautiful shells, cool sand dollars and bug bites. Don’t make our mistake and come home with that last souvenir…Bring bug spray! The home has several spots to enjoy the outdoors within screened areas once the bugs come out too.
Had a wonderful experience and can’t wait to come back.

Sublime is exactly that! The home is a dream! There were 15 of us and had more than enough space to play and relax. The rooms were extremely comfortable. The bathrooms spacious and clean. The kitchen was HUGE we had a blast all pitching in and helping create not just family meals but family memories! The views from each and every room in the house were spectacular! The roof top deck gave us breathtaking views of sunrise and sunset. The stars at night were countless and even the milky way was visible. Lacey was a most gracious host, we couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to experience her beautiful home on North Captiva Island.

We had a blast on the island! The property owner did a great job getting back to me quickly with any questions I had. The house was beautiful and fit all of our group nicely.
The golf carts issues at our property were a bit of a pain to deal with throughout our stay. The property owner, Lacey, responded quickly and with a solution when I called. Just wish we would have had more reliable golf carts to get us around, without any issues. We had a large group of 13, which included an 80 year old guest, so walking wasn't much of an option.
All in all, we had an amazing time and will definitely be back!

College friends (4 couples) for 28 years, with children ranging in age from 10-24. There were 20 of us, and the house accommodated us all! We drank coffee every day on the porch while looking out at the ocean. We swam in the ocean with the manatees and dolphins nearby, and enjoyed the club pool! We took golf carts and our crew to the other end of the island and played volleyball on the large beach. We cooked, laughed and played games together in paradise. We had SO MUCH FUN! Wonderful space for a large group.

Chillaxing!
We had a wonderful time chilling with our adult children and grandkids. There were 11 of us and Sublime was exactly what we needed. Comfortable beds, well appointed, with beautiful views. Easy access to the beaches. We enjoyed shelling, building sandcastles, swimming, sunbathing, kayaking and tennis. Look forward to returning!

Amazing property
This was our second time staying at this property and it didn't disappoint, again. Newer construction, no odor on the water, amazing views and super spacious.
Lacey is an amazing host. Always very responsive and understandable. This property is a must if you are visiting the island.
Thank you for allowing us to stay at this beautiful property.

Awesome family vaca
Just got back from Sublime on North Captiva! It was an awesome place for our family of 15 to stay for a week! The logistics of getting us all there was a challenge but it was so worth it in the end! So many memories were made! The couple of draw back were the many stairs and the air conditioning not being under our own control. Other then that it was the perfect place for us!

Most Excellent House for a Big Group Vacation
Our large group of 5 families spent an unbelievable week at Sublime. The island, the house, the owner and staff were so amazing that there was no possible way for our large group to get on each other's nerves.
Beginning with our arrival at the dock, the folks from Tortuga took good care of us. They were always a quick text message away with any issue or question we had. Lacey (the owner) was also as easily accessible and fantastic.
The house is perfect for a large group. Plenty of place to spread out especially on the multiple decks which provided lots of great spots to hang out. The bedroom situation was ideal with comfortable beds and plenty of bathrooms.
Only getting around by golf cart or walking is the perfect way to unplug. My simple advice is to pack light, order groceries ahead and enjoy yourself.

Spring Break at Sublime
We had a wonderful stay at Sublime for spring break 2022. We were a party of 15 (8 adults and 7 teenagers). The pictures online do not do this house justice. The house is well kept and very clean. With our big party of 15, we never felt the house was too small. All the rooms are well decorated with comfortable bedding. The location of the house is great as well. If you go up to the very top of the house the view is stunning. The owner Lacey was wonderful, responsive and helpful. She answered all questions we had in a timely manner. The check-in and check-out process went very smoothly. The property management company was also quick to respond and knowledgeable. If you're coming to NCI for the first time my best advice would be to pack light. We literally lived in our bathing suits and lounge clothes for the entire week. I also recommend having the house stocked for your arrival. I would highly recommend staying at Sublime!

Beautiful Home
One of the best VRBO properties we have enjoyed. Beautiful home, plenty of supplies for little ones that were greatly appreciated. Host and property managers were very responsive and provided so much helpful information for planning our trip. We had a fantastic time and also enjoyed a fabulous dinner prepared by Chef Billy (another great owner recommendation!) Thank you for one of our favorite family vacations.
