Shoot a round of pool, listen to music, relax on the large sofa and enjoy the movie room area, or enjoy the patio and bar area! There are 2 living/entertainment rooms, 2 dining areas including a 9 foot table that can seat 10 for a big meal, and lastly a huge kitchen for cooking and entertaining!
The space:
Renovated 3 BR, 2 Full Bathroom house in one of the best neighborhoods in Richmond, Oxford, near Strattford hills. It is a very quiet and beautiful neighborhood on the edge of Bon Air, but still in Richmond, and just a 10 minute drive to everything Richmond has to offer!
Upstairs:
-Full/Large kitchen with literally everything you need to cook with island, kitchen eating area/table, living room with TV, Dining room with large table seats up to 10, 2 bedrooms and full bath. Bedroom 1 has a piano. Second piano in the living room.
Downstairs:
The big screen TV is 60 inches, is hidden in the wall. There is special lighting in the shelves as well to add to the ambiance. The private patio is lit up with string lights for a very enjoyable experience.
Very comfortable and large high end couch which could sleep about 3 comfortably. Play pool on the pool table or cards at the bar area or table. Feel free to use the washer and dryer as well. You can also connect your phones to play music through these incredible speakers while you are here! The TV consists of access to Hulu, Netflix and Plex which is a free movie streaming service I provide access to (all the new movies for free)
Full kitchen/bar area downstairs has everything but an oven/stove.
IMPORTANT - We have had issues with guests trying to have parties. We have a STRICT no party policy and if you do try to have a party or loud “get together” we will have to ask you politely to leave with no refund. 😊
Guest access:
The ENTIRE house is yours and you will not have to interact with anyone. Park in the large wrap-around driveway by the garage. The back right bedroom on the right side of the hallway, the garage, and the downstairs storage room are all locked off and not part of the Airbnb, as they are used for storage. Everything else is however available for use.
Area location:
It is a very quiet neighborhood, heavily wooded and beautiful! All very close to downtown Richmond, and actually still within city limits just over the Huguenot Bridge on the James River.
All of the breweries that many people come to town to visit are all a 10-15 minute drive, never longer.
There are many VERY good restaurants within a 3 minute drive which are Fleming's, PF Chang's, Mosaic, Azuro, Southbound and Osaka. There is a dine-in movie theater called Cinebistro within a 3 minute drive as well along with Stony Point Town Center Mall just a 3 minute drive away as well by that movie theater.
The James River is also just about a 3 minute drive away and you can even walk or jog there to enjoy the river for swimming, viewing and the many running/walking/biking trails as well. Kayaking and tubing is a common thing to do there on the James and there are a few companies nearby you can rent equipment from as well! Country Club of Virginia Golf course is a mile away just over the bridge as well.
We are right by the University of Richmond and Grove and Libby shopping area as well which has Jack Brown's restaurant (Great for burgers and craft beers!), Cafe Caturra which is a wonderful place to get coffee, wine, breakfast, lunch and dinner and they have a great wine selection. Near there as well is a very nice restaurant called Beijing on Grove where you can get excellent Asian street food and cocktails. The Grill is also near there and is a great sports bar!
The Short Pump area is 25 minutes by car.
Very close to Chippenham parkway and Powhite parkway - 10 minute drive to "the fan" or VCU area and 13 minute drive to downtown Richmond. Kings Dominion is 30 minutes by car. Williamsburg along with Busch Gardens, Water Country USA, and The Great Wold Lodge are all 1 hour away by car.

This has been the best place we have ever stayed. The layout is amazing. We had a baby sleeping upstairs and we were able to hangout in the basement without her waking up at all bc of the design of the house. This place is GREAT for a family trip.

My family of three stayed here for a long weekend. The house is exactly as described. The home was clean and well stocked with the essentials. Ryan was a great host. The community is quiet and we felt very safe. We loved the basement entertainment area for a long weekend of movies and watching football. Thank you so much for a great stay. We hope to visit again soon.

We stayed at this Oxford home during our lacrosse tournament in the area. It was nice for the adults to visit and cook upstairs while the boys played in the basement and watched movies. I love when we find a place that goes above and beyond to offer essentials like shampoo, conditioner and soap as well as coffee filters and coffee.
We loved shopping at Trader Joes and the little market in the strip mall. The boys loved the ice cream place by Trader Joes too! Thank you Ryan!

My out of town family stayed here when they visited as my house is not big enough for everyone. It was a nice place to stay in a nice quiet neighborhood. I would definitely stay here again. The host was responsive and helpful.

Great neighborhood with close proximity to many attractions. Make sure to use GPS if you want to avoid tolls going in and out of town.

Nice stay
A little on the high side for a house not on the beach or lake , but it was a nice stay for the activities we were doing , wouldn't recommend it if u wanted to have a cook out due to owner stated that neighbors would complain about people talking outside, but other than that it was a nice stay

Beautiful home away from home
Can't say a single bad thing about this place!!! Ryan was easy to communicate with, house was perfect, everything as described! I, my seven children, and my aunt visited the area to see family. The house was welcoming, clean, and had everything we needed to carry on life in another place ❤️. The neighborhood is gorgeous - great for a stroll! Stores are within a 5ish minute drive, in case you need anything. Definitely plan to come back!!!

The location and curb appeal of this home is excellent. It is ideal for a group of younger people visiting the local colleges and needing a place to gather and socialize. A family traveling with children may not find the accommodations, decorations, or general feeling inside the house to be comfortable like a traditional family home. Three bedrooms upstairs are sparingly furnished and decorated on a budget, and they all share a single full size bath not connected to any of the rooms. The floors and doors are very squeaky which was a real challenge with a sleeping baby. Kitchen and breakfast table are a nice size with large sunken dining room off the kitchen. Living area upstairs is relatively small and not comfortable for family lounging. However, the downstairs entertainment area is excellent for hanging out, watching movies, playing pool and has a large full size bath with rain head shower. The home has obvious wear and tear, furnishing and decor throughout that is consistent with a college house. Again, this is perfect for certain groups but a family with kids may not find it appealing. Communications with the owner were easy. Check-in could have gone better as the cleaning lady needed an extra 90 minutes past check-in time due to a miscommunication whether the owner or VRBO guests were arriving. Luckily we were heading straight to dinner after dropping bags, so we could accommodate her need for additional time. Overall this house is nice size, in a great location, in good condition, and has an excellent entertainment area on the 1st floor for group fun.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is large with large rooms. The neighborhood is safe. I enjoyed taking walks in the morning. One night the rest of our family came over. We ordered dinner and played pool and cards and board games and there was plenty of room. The kitchen is well equipped except the silverware especially the forks were not adequate. The beds were comfortable. The description of the house needs updating because the small downstairs room is no longer used as a bedroom but there are 3 upstairs. The family room downstairs is very large and the sofa is large. We had a couple who slept down there. The sofa does not have a pull out bed, but it’s size makes it possible to sleep two fairly comfortably. We could not figure out how to work the downstairs television (we didn’t try the other ones.) Perhaps it should be checked or a paper with instructions should be put next to it. All in all the house was great for our purpose. Location, size, safety of the neighborhood and the pool table and game area really were appreciated. We would definitely rent it again.

My family and I were looking for somewhere to stay to celebrate my graduation. The house was perfect for what we needed: lots of dining space, big back yard, and an awesome bar / pool room in the basement. It is way bigger than the pictures show. The neighborhood was beautiful but very quiet. Ryan was very prompt with communication and accommodating. I am moving out of Richmond but would def stay at this place when I come back to visit.

Everything about this stay was excellent. My wife and I got away for a week without kids and took advantage of the proximity to the city, the quiet neighborhood, and more. There were excellent restaurants for ordering in, great suggestions for ideas in the city. We stopped at an Aldi our first night (.5 miles away) and were able to cook several meals at the home. We spent time in Carytown, the Museum District, hiked along the river, and more. The basement was so cozy. It was so fun to put on records and play billiards. We also watched quite a few movies in both the upstairs living room and downstairs. My wife and I have already told the kids we would love to bring them back next summer to enjoy the home and Richmond. Two notes, which didn't diminish our stay at all, the pianos are NOT tuned, and the fireplaces are not functional. Those are both things that we wished had worked before our booking. Regardless, we're thrilled we chose this home and will return any time we make it to Richmond again.
