The cottage fit our families needs perfectly. With five adults and an older teenager everyone had plenty of space. The cottage is laid out perfect for its size. Plenty of parking for three cars as well.
The kitchen had a wide range of cooking utensils, pots, pans and everything you would need to cook at home. The only thing we couldn't find was a wine opener yet that won't be a problem any more since we bought one and left it behind.
Great outdoor space if you have warmer weather to enjoy it. Even though it was February a couple of our kiddos decided to go for a quick dip in the lake. Yes, it was cold and I got it all on video.
The view is to die for. We were able to enjoy a sunset while enjoying a warm fire inside and a sunrise while enjoying a cup of coffee and breakfast.
The location was suitable for all the activities everyone wanted to do. From skiing/snowboarding, enjoying a glass of wine at the winery close by, visiting Point Betsie Lighthouse, and exploring Frankfort and the surrounding area. Everyone in our party was able to do what they wanted.
My husband commented that, " it was the best cottage we ever stayed in for its size." That says it all since he doesn't dole out complements easily.
We will definitely be back. If you decide to stay you won't regret it. We enjoyed every moment and so will you.

We loved the location of the property and the cottage is so cute but it is in desperate need of a deep cleaning. Firstly, we opened the fridge to find crumbs, smears, and hair. There were crumbs and hair in the silverware drawer as well. Pulled a few dishes out of the cabinet and the plates had old food stuck on. After an 11 hour drive we spent the remaining Saturday evening and Sunday morning cleaning. We also washed all the mattress pads, sheets and towels due to spot’s being on them. Crumbs and dirt on the floor as well. The living room arm chairs and sofa were sticky to the touch. We remedied the situation by putting throw blankets over the furniture. Outdoor seat cushions were ripped and spotty. We bought towels from dollar general to cover them. If the cottage had been cleaned properly we would give 5 stars for every category. Danielle, the Vacasa rep answered every question quickly and came over to see for herself the poor condition of the interior. She was quite helpful. After we vacuumed, mopped, swept, and laundered the linens the cottage was quite comfortable. Danielle has refunded the cleaning fee but we were hoping for a full day refund since we spent our first day cleaning. Would stay here again as long as it’s been properly cleaned.

This cottage was as lovely as the pictures. Location on water and large deck were perfect, great for many people to enjoy-meals, reading, etc. Nice to have comfortable outdoor furniture on the deck, balcony and dock. The layout was perfect for our multi generational family of 5. Updates to the kitchen and bathrooms were very well done.
We did have intermittent hot water, and minimal water pressure to the main floor shower(not usable to shower), with second floor bathroom sink that was backed up/very slow to drain. It was easy to contact Vacasa, but communication from them was spotty, ie 15 min hold when asking status of plumber arrival, and after being told repeatedly that plumber was coming, we were not informed that he wouldn't arrive until the next day. Assistance with plumbing issues took 24 hours, understandable I assume as it was a holiday, but the owner did not allow the plumber to address the slow draining sink. It was my understanding she didn't want to pay the weekend charges from the plumbing company. In the end, the hot water and very low water pressure to shower were related to scale build up that plumber stated was a general maintenance issue. Our issues were resolved, except for the backed up sink that my husband managed to fix himself.
So overall, loved the cottage, but turned off by owner's unwillingness to allow all plumbing issues to be addressed, and very frustrated with poor communication with the managing company, Vacasa of Michigan.

Our family was looking for a place with both a beach where younger ones could swim and play and also had a boat lift for the boat we brought. This lovely lakeside home filled the bill. While it did not have air conditioning, the breezes were pleasant and the water was beautiful!
