Wow this place was great! It was really cozy and had everything you need, and more. The nature outside was stunning and there was a lot of bautiful things around. The service was out of this world, and her dog was a super big and cute bonus! :)
Even though the bathrooms were shared, they were very clean. It was a real pleasure to stay here!
The only thing we missed was an AC. But there were fans so it was okay!

Cozy with plenty of amenities. Owner was very nice. Two of the beds were very comfy.

A real hidden gem in the mountain! The location is amazing if you are interested in hiking, with a lot of nice trails in close proximity and white sands national park less than an hour away.
The hostel is really beautiful, warm and charming, with really nice and clean common areas. The owner is welcoming, helpful and knows the area like her pocket. The beds are comfy and the room was really nice.
Hands down one of the very best hostel I've stayed in!
Nothing.

They do everything right here. All details are thought well. Plugs at the beds. Good and useful kitchen. You can make your morning coffee by yourself, they provide you with coffee powder. Internet is fast. I should habe staxed longer.
Cloudcroft ia a little far out, I detour a little bit to stop there.

This place was amazing. My GF and I stayed in a private room, but the dorms looked great as well. The place is very clean, the owner (Stephanie) was a great host. There is an amazing common area with places to relax, a very nice kitchen, and an outdoor patio. I’d highly recommend staying here being they have accommodations that suit all needs.
The location to downtown isn’t walkable and is 6 miles away. This isn’t a negative for me because I prefer being in the nature and it’s a short drive.

Self-managed place near the road at Lincoln Forest. Good but empty soul with way too many instructions: like how to pee.
No presence at all of the staff.

The owner contacted us to give us late check in instructions and the place is fantastic! Super clean AND friendly! My sis and I got a private room which had lots of plug ins for phone charging and lights placed for optimum benefit.
Nothing to dislike! Located a couple of miles east of Cloudcroft.

What a great find! Its so hard to find hostels in the United States. This one exceeded our expectations! The owner is very friendly and informative! The rooms are very clean and the beds are comfy! The location was gorgeous up in the mountains about 20 minutes from Alamogordo so youre out of the hustle and bustle but still close! We had a great time here and wish we could have stayed longer to do some hiking! If we ever make it back to New Mexico we definitely will be stopping here again! I would highly recommend!

Cloudcroft hostel is beautifully run with a lot of attention to detail. From the fresh towels and sheets on the comfortable beds and reading lamps by each bunk through the bathrooms which have body wash and moisturizing lotion to the spotless and pleasant kitchen everything there is done right to facilitate a communal experience. At the same time it was a fun space with retro album covers on the walls and good traveller conversations around the kitchen table. The location in the Sacramento mountains / Lincoln national forest east of Alamogordo is lovely (it snowed the night we were there) but it's a fair distance to the White Sands national park - about 45 minutes in a car - if that's your primary destination.
One small negative is the tap water - while potable - tasted a little odd.

Room was spacious and clean. Lobby and kitchen were spacious and easy to use. There is even information booth with nearby attraction pamphlets and and let you borrow sliding plastic plate used in white sand national park. Quite in the night stay with crystal clear night sky view. Affordable price.

It was nice to have access to the kitchen and the location was perfect for us. Peaceful and sweet.
No complaints really. Someone cooking breakfast woke us up at 7:30, but otherwise perfect.

It feel like when you go to stay with relatives. It’s like family. We loved it. We wish we could stay longer to be able to enjoy a campfire in a cool night, more walks in the nearby trails.
Everything. Location, service and decor. Out of the ordinary.
