Firefly Landing is a bright and airy, completely renovated beach house located in Ocean Beach, Fire Island. With 4 BRs, there is room for the entire family to come and have a most memorable vacation. It’s perfectly situated one block from the pristine barrier beaches and one block from “downtown.” No need to schlep along everything you own; the house comes loaded with adult and children’s bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas, a wagon, fully stocked kitchen, Weber grill, two outdoor lounge areas, outdoor dining area and of course linens, towels, and basic supplies. The brand new Trex spacious back deck has created a private backyard oasis which is perfect for enjoying your morning coffee, a midday break from the beach or an evening BBQ with some cocktails and a game of cornhole. After a sun-filled day at the beach you can relax with a dip in the hot tub followed by a refreshing outdoor shower before you hit the town.

The living room is comfortable and inviting with a large smart TV that offers Amazon Prime TV, Netflix, Disney+, and DirectTV Streaming for network and cable channels (high speed WiFi). While you settle in to watch a movie, the kids can watch their own shows in the front room, which has a separate TV with all the same streaming services.

Firefly Landing is located right in the middle of everywhere you’ll want to be. Being just steps to the beach and town make it the perfect location. The downtown area offers, restaurants, markets, a bakery, ice cream and sweet shops, a playground, boutiques, variety and souvenir stores, pizza parlors, and plenty of nightlife.

Great day trips can be taken from our town either by hoping on the water taxi to head to a destination or walking through the various towns – both are very enjoyable options. You can hike to the Fire Island Lighthouse for the day or go in the opposite direction to visit the Sunken Forest. One of the best things about Fire Island is that there are no cars! Kids can ride their bikes or walk around without the fear of car traffic nagging at you.

We couldn't have picked a better place to stay than Firefly Landing - the location, the space, and the amenities were all perfect! The house comfortably slept 6 of us, friends and family and each room was equipped with it's own controllable A/C which was amazing to have during one of the hottest weeks of the year! The house has everything that you could think of needing and the grocery stores are a quick and convenient walk away. The pictures of the outside area don't do justice - there is a huge deck with a grill, an outdoor shower, dining and lounging areas, and a nice, clean hot tub that we made use of. Maryann was very kind and communicative ensuring that we were able to access the house with no issues and even made sure that we had extra propane to grill with. I had friends come to Long Island from NYC for the first time and having the ferry so close to the house made it very easy for them and they LOVED everything. We enjoyed swimming in the bay and the ocean which was a quick and easy walk down straight down the boardwalk. The house was perfectly clean and well conditioned, as was the location/beach itself. There were also lots of bikes and a wagon that came in handy when running errands. The town is fun and lively to go out in but the house and neighboring houses were quiet and safe so we all slept well and comfortably upon our return to Firefly. I cannot say enough good things about this rental, we did not want to leave! Hope to return very soon!!

Wonderful vacation at this extra clean and lovely home. Hosts are so kind and thought of truly everything you might need and more to make for a relaxing, happy vacation. Close to beach and restaurants with a large deck where we spent many hours. We didn’t want to leave and would definitely return! Thank you!!!!!

Our experience at Firefly Landing was excellent. The host, Maryann, was a pleasure to deal with -- extremely responsive and gracious. The house itself is ideally located on the east side of Ocean Beach -- bordering Seaview. I was concerned that the area would feel commercial because it is so close to town (1/2 block) but instead it feels totally residential with great access. The house itself is fully and generously outfitted. The hosts have made excellent use of a small footprint. We were concerned at first about the house size (we are a family of 5 with two 6'5" boys) but we never felt like we were missing a dedicated space. The one space that was a bit crowded for a group our size was the living room. When we watched movies at night we had to get creative with seating. Also, the bedrooms are quite small -- just enough room to move around the beds but this was also not an issue. It just felt cozy. The kitchen and baths are beautifully updated with an elegant beachy feel. The outdoor sitting area, shower and hot tub were great. It was a perfect week at the beach made better by a great house and host. We would definitely rent Firefly Landing again!

Highly recommend this house. Close to restaurants and shops and a 5 minute walk to beach. House is immaculate. Beds were comply and all had new bedding. This home has everything you would need to have a wonderful stay. Plenty of beach and shower towels, beach chairs, umbrellas and bikes. We really enjoyed the backyard deck with lots of outdoor seating. It was awesome having the outdoor shower after a long day at the beach. Overall, had a fantastic stay and will definitely stay here again.

Our family had a wonderful week’s stay at Maryann’s totally renovated cottage. Everything is new and super clean. And plenty of beds/ space to hang out. They did an AMAZING job on the reno. Stunning. We were a half block from town/bay and 2 quick blocks to the ocean. We BBQd most nights and also enjoyed dinner on the water in town. The house had chairs, towels and umbrella for the beach and a brand new washer/dryer for our bathing suits at the end of the day. Loved early morning and evening walks around the villages. So relaxing! Will absolutely stay again!!!
