The staff and the premises

The bed was awful, hardly got any sleep. The cups to use for your tea/coffee in your room were like soup bowls. The bathroom window did not close. The traffic on the main road kept waking me up.

Staff lovely. Don’t get put next to family room !!

Bar staff was very attentive. Food was good.

Being on a crossroads was noisy. Bar toilets need updating. Family turned up late and a baby screaming most of the night so didn’t sleep at all.

Met all our basic needs but glitch with the beds.

Our rooms were good and the breakfast was great. Dinner is standard pub fare but fine. A couple of decent real ales on tap. The staff (there are not enough of them to be frank) were very helpful and worked extremely hard to help us. In fact, on arrival, everyting was done by just one person - she was serving meals, pouring drinks, checking us in and stashing our bikes away, all at the same time! Run off her feet but she did a great job.

The location at the crossroads means that it is very noisy at night, especially if it is hot and you have the windows open. But our main grouse was regarding double vs twin rooms. Via Booking.com we asked for twin beds, if possible, and got a message back that "Your special request can be accommodated" - but it wasn't. The George only has double beds in the larger rooms. Talking to the staff at The George, they were adamant that they NEVER have twin beds, so this was a spurious message form Booking.com. Hence, we had to shell out for an extra room.

Clean, comfortable and friendly with great food.

This is a beautiful property and the rooms are also beautiful as well as clean and comfortable. During the stay the bar staff, chefs and housekeeping staff that we spoke to were all friendly, helpful and polite. The food was very good - the heritage tomatoes starter was incredible!! I’d definitely book this place again if I’m in the area.

The only downside for me was no mirror in my bedroom - other than the one in the bathroom where the lighting was no good for doing make up. I just used the one in my daughter’s room but I think this should be an easy fix.

we were told check in was 3pm, but when we arrived at this time the pub was closed and nobody was around until they opened at 4pm.

Totally surprised at the food! Absolutely fantastic!

Room was clean and perfect for what I needed.

Only one issue. As it was so hot I wanted to keep the windows open but the smokers stand right under the window!! Fine once the pub shut though!

Superb

Have stayed before, and am regularl for a drink. The staff are fantastic, and so is the food. The rooms are clean and comfy.

Unfortunately there was a very loud birthday party that night. Not the staff's fault and if was good to see the place packed out.

Perfect.

It was a one night stay for a local wedding. We were kindly offered an early check in so we could change, which was very helpful. For breakfast the chef went out of his way to find gluten free bread for me.

There wasn’t a lot to not like, it did exactly what we wanted. A minor niggle was there was no full length mirror in the room or hallway but we pretended to be young and used our phones, so no major problem.

Rooms are tired and need updating, no one showed for breakfast finally saw someone at 8.45 when we were leaving , thought at one stage might cook it ourselves as we vould gain access to kitchen, management showed up but dud not even acknowledge us and our complaint that we were asked to pre order breakfast the night before asked what time we would like we went for 8.00 and then no one in to cook it!!!!

Perfect for ou needs

Location: great location, easy to find and quiet. I did wonder if the noise from the road would be disturbing, but it wasn’t Staff: lovely and friendly, welcoming Breakfast: really nice breakfast, plenty to choose from Bedroom: clean and comfortable and all the necessary amenities. I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend the George Inn Middle Wallop
