Ok, not fabulous but satisfactiry
There was a prom being held in the hotel on the night of our stay. The hotel had emailed me a week or so before our stay. I replied and asked that f it would cause us a problem. They replied not at all the room was being held in a different part of the hotel ( we would have cancelled and booked elsewhere. The prom was held in an area that our room overlooked. We could not open the window on a stifling hot night. We went and complained to reception, the response was’ you have a fan in your room’ absolutely shocking response. We would never stay there again and would discourage others as well. Appalling customer service and you should not deal with them again either. Very badly run and staff could not care less

Beautiful location. Beautiful hotel and grounds.
Nothing

The hotel is amazing and very clean.
The breakfast is worth every penny.
We did think bar prices were a bit expensive for a rural hotel.
I can see why previous guests have commented on no lift or help with taking bags to room, I can understand why now.
3.8
The location was lovely and leisure facilities were really good
We paid £165 for a box room

Lovely grounds and good location for us
The room and bathroom's cleanliness was really poor. We had to clean the bathroom before using and some of the cobwebs above the bed had been there for a while!
3.8
Great to use the health club.
Beautiful grounds and building
Unfortunately our room overlooked the function room despite request to change. It was a very noisy disturbed night as there was a wedding on. Preplanning would be good to either place wedding guests in those rooms or warn other guests. Couldn’t relax or even watch tv as couldn’t hear over the music. Staff were hesitant but offered comp breakfast which was nice apology
3.8
Staff friendly, rooms clean
excellent pool/spa
small room, small bathroom
3.8
Excellent location and setting
Being woken up at 5.15am by vacuum cleaner or noisy machine by trades entrance

Breakfast pain au choc were warm.
Mattress on put you up sofa bed is well past its heat and thin.
Gym is not accessible to 14 year old and not made clear on booking.com. Swimming not available till 3pm on a Saturday...even if that's the day you check out they suggest "hanging around".
Manager doesn't work weekends...arranged for them to call me to discuss the poor service and lack of clarity. This was 4 weeks ago and counting. Terrible let down and over priced when you see facilities aren't really included for families.

The location was handy to get quickly in and out of Southampton City centre by car. The grounds were nice as well.
The foyer was very interesting, almost titanic themed.
The parking is a bit all over the place and alot on unpaved muddy areas.
The room is a bit dated, but I could accept that for the price.
The mattress was at best, clapped out, really saggy/springy.
The biggest issue was the response to the fire alarm at 8:30 on a Sunday. We obviously got up and out the room but the staff didn't seem to know what was going on and there was a general lack of direction. When I asked for a complimentary cup of tea for the hassle, I was just met with a response asking if I wanted breakfast to be added as a paid for item, which of course I didn't.

The hotel is in beautiful grounds and ideal for getting around.
Staff are very friendly.
Breakfast offers a large selection.
I don’t think there was anything not to like

As a reviewer, I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Best Western Chilworth Manor Hotel, and I must say, my experience was outstanding from the moment I walked through the doors. The friendly receptionists warmly welcomed me, and the check-in process was quick and efficient. One of the standout features of this hotel is the convenience of online check-in, which allows guests to save time by filling out necessary information ahead of their arrival.
Upon entering the lounge, I was immediately struck by the grandeur of the old manor house. The open fire in the centre of the room created a cosy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for relaxing with a drink or enjoying a good book. The ample seating arrangements, including the provision of quieter areas in adjoining rooms, ensured that there was always a comfortable spot to unwind after a long day.
Speaking of drinks, the bar at Best Western Chilworth Manor Hotel certainly did not disappoint. The prices were reasonable, and the selection of drinks was extensive. Whether you are a wine connoisseur, a cocktail enthusiast, or a beer aficionado, there is something for everyone. I particularly enjoyed the attention to detail given to the presentation of the drinks, with each one being expertly crafted.
Moving on to the room, I had the pleasure of staying in room number 3. The layout was spacious and clean, with a double bed positioned against one wall. The two large windows offered breathtaking views of the extensive grounds and let in plenty of natural light, creating a bright and airy atmosphere. The bathroom was also ample in size, featuring both a shower and a bath. I must commend the housekeeping staff on their exceptional attention to cleanliness.
While the overall experience in the room was superb, there were a few minor issues worth noting. The television provided was on the smaller side and could benefit from an upgrade. Additionally, the lighting near the table and chairs was insufficient for reading or working. These minor shortcomings, however, did not detract significantly from the overall experience.

Beautiful hotel, delicious dinner, friendly staff

Good location for cruise. Lovely room - very spacious and comfortable. Excellent value. Good breakfast
Man at bar having an argument on the phone effing & blinding - was eventually told to stop by staff
3.8
The location is close to our son who is working in Southampton. It is a safe area - particularly when I am visiting on my own.
The breakfast is quite good , but the teas / coffees could be improved upon. Staff are reasonably friendly and helpful.
The service could have been better. Limited staff on the bar and perhaps additional training required.
3.8
The Staff were outstanding, despite being a fairly young team the customer care was excellent and the understanding was fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was friendly
3.8
Beautiful location, great rooms, easy access and the staff were so accommodating. We were able to bring our dog which was perfect, and there was a lovely present in the room for him which was so unexpected.
Nothing!!

3.8
The grounds were lovely.
The whole hotel is VERY dated & needs money spent on it to bring it up to date, food service was just ridiculous with very long waiting times + food being walked around the bar for ages as there is no monitoring of who ordered what, this meant a lot of complaints & returned food, this hotel must be losing lots of money & wasting food "in this current climate" ...........
3.8
Breakfast was cold.Money refunded.

Nice location with lovely grounds to walk around. Room was a good size. We had to cut our trip short due to circumstances at home so cannot fully comment on everything.
We used the pool and the changing rooms were not the cleanest. The gents changing room someone had left incontinence pad strips on the floor. In the pool area there was a curled up plaster on the side. A lot of this is the disrespect of the public using the facilities and it was towards the end of the day we used pool.
3.8
Convenient location in relation to our weekend plans and good value for money.
3.8
The grounds available were beautiful. Lovely to have somewhere to walk in an evening and a drink on the terrace. The room was very comfortable and clean.

Like the location and food good
Unfortunately onSunday morning the breakfast service was totally over run. There were too few staff to cope with the number of guests so despite the staff working hard the tables were left messy, the food was not up to the standard we have had the other times we have stayed. In particular the fruit salad was just grapefruit and prunes.. vert disappointing.
Might I suggest that when the hotel is full / busy guests are asked to book a 45 min slot the afternoon before so the number of staff can be employed to maintain standards of care, cleanliness and hygiene.
3.8
Paid a bit extra and was worth it for the room.
Food is delicious.
Staff are lovely
Room is dark and no view only of carpark.
Pool is a little walk from where the hotel is

Stayed overnight before going on cruise. Needed ground floor bedroom and disabled facilities and wasn't disappointed will definitely stay again
Not disappointed with anything
